Fantasy Birthday Trip To The World

Trip Dates: April 26-May 6

Scenario: My Birthday is on May 1st and it is a very special birthday. I turn 16 on this birthday.

Cast: Mom-DM Me/Son-DS Friend-DF

Day 1

Ok, we are leaving tonight but I have to wait a while, 11:00 p.m. to be exact. I got home from school and my mom was waiting for me. I took a shower and we loaded up the car and went to pick up my friend. When we get to his house we load his stuff into an already overstuffed SUV and drive to the fly away . We bought our tickets for the bus and left for the airport. We get to the airport to find that there has been a delay on our plane to switch aircraft. We also got upgraded to first class. Yipee!!!

We board the plane and off we are to Orlando. Now, not to say that coach is bad or anything but, first class is AWESOME!!! Especially when you’re on a five hour flight. Ok, we landed in Orlando and got on the Magical Express to go to our resort, the Polynesian. DM and I have wanted to stay here for a very long time. And it just happens to be that our first trip with my DF is at the Poly.

We get to the hotel and go to check in. Lucky us, they overbooked and all of the rooms were full except for a couple of rooms on the concierge floor. Can you say midnight snack run? Me and my DF can! We got 2 connecting rooms so my DM won’t be bothered. We are exhausted! DM decides that we should sleep for a while and so we do. But my mom slept for like 8 hours. Me and my DF woke up after 4 so what do we do? Well, lucky for us I packed my XBOX. Now don’t get your ears in a bunch, I know this may seem like Disney taboo but even after late nights in the parks I’m still sometimes wide awake and ready to play. So we play for a couple of hours. Actually 2. Then DF and I decide to go and explore the resort. I left a note for my mom saying where we would be and that we were in no danger and that no, we had not been kidnapped. We just looked around the hotel for a little bit and then we went back to the room. My DM had awoken (roar) and we decided to hit the nightlife of Disney.

We did a tiny, very insignificant amount of shopping at Disney’s Wide World of Sports. We went to Ragland Road over in Pleasure Island. The food there was excellent. It was about 10 o’clock so we decided to retire for the evening.

We headed back to the Poly on a bus and got some snacks from the concierge bar before we went to our rooms. After we got back in our rooms me and my DF spent about an hour playing XBOX and deciding what we were going to do tomorrow.

Your not turning 16 this year, my dd just turned 16 February 14 and she was born in 1990, so you are 14 turning 15. Still like your fantasy report.

Day 2

Yawn, it is about 8:15 and DF and me have just woken up. Let’s think, 2 guys wake up. What are they thinking about first? Breakfast! My mom left told me the previous night that I could charge breakfast to our room key so we wouldn’t have to bother her. So we go down to Captain Cook’s Snack Company and eat.

We go back up to the room at 8:50 and DM still isn’t up. So like any teenage boy would, I wake her up. Now this may seem like a mean but it’s really not. Sure it scares the living daylight out of her but hey, at least she’s up!

So, we all take showers and get ready to go to a park. Now, DM and I usually pick the park we are going to go to by just getting on the first bus we see. But since we are right on the monorail for the first time we all decide to go to the Magic Kingdom. Plus the fact that we have a PR or whatever they call them now days for Liberty Tree Tavern at 1:45 kind of helped our decision.

We got to the park around 10:00 and headed to Adventureland. We got a couple of Pineapple Dole Whips to share and then headed over to the Jungle cruise. We waited for about 2 minutes (if that) and then we went in The Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management. Now, I’m not gonna say I like this show better than the one in California because they are totally different. But I will say I wish we could have two here at Disneyland.

After that, we went to Pirates of the Caribbean. I don’t think that this ride is anywhere as good as the original but it will do.

It’s about 11:30, so we decided to go get some Fast Passes for Splash Mountain. There was only about a 20 minute wait so we decided hit Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road. I love this ride. It is fun yet thrilling, the one at Disneyland throws you around a little too much. This one is just right!

My DF decided that we should go in the Country Bear Jamboree. Man I miss this soooo much! Down with Pooh!

Now when you go to the Magic Kingdom, you have to do at least 4 things, and we’re about to do one of them. The Haunted Mansion in Florida may not be the original but I think it is the best one there is because it has a more eerie feeling. P.S. Does anyone else keep there eyes closed during the graveyard/attic scenes?

When we got off the Haunted Mansion we, (yeah right, more like DM) decided that we should just “chill” 4 a bit. Basically what ended up happening was DF and I went off by ourselves while my mom sat in Fantasyland and did her thing.

While DF and I were over in tomorrowland we went did another 1 of my 4 must-do’s while at the Magic Kingdom. We waited only about half an hour for Space Mountain. That must have been an all time low for me. Now don’t get me wrong, if I see an hour wait for a big attraction, I’ll wait in line for it with no complaints it’s just that I have never gotten on Space Mountain so fast.

Anyways, then we went in Stitch’s Great Escape. Dissers are going to hate me for saying this but this is probably my third favorite ride at Walt Disney World. Of course I’m biased because I love anything with Stitch in it. But I just don’t see what everyone thinks is so bad about it. Now that I have been on this, I wish I had gone in Alien Encounter while it was still there. Oh well!

It’s about 1:15 so DF and I met up with my mom over in Mickey’s Toontown Fair. We head over to Liberty Tree Tavern and they seat us. I forgot to mention that we are on the dining plan because, well, lets put it this way, with the way me and DF eat, my mom would go broke without the dining plan. We all got the Pilgrim’s Feast and oh my Lord was it good.

We interrupt this trip report to bring you this special announcement. Sorry Dissers for taking so long to put up all of this, the thing is, I’m writing this at school, and I only have about 15 minutes a day to type. So sorry for any inconvenience. Back to your regularly scheduled trip report.

We were all kinda stuffed so we went back to the Poly via monorail. DM took a nap while DF and I went to the pool. Around 4 o’clock I asked DM if DF and I could take the monorail to Epcot.

. She said we could so when we got there we went on Mission: Space and Test Track. After we got off Test Track DM called me on my cell phone and told me to meet her at the graveyard (a.k.a. Leave a Legacy) in about 15 minutes. After we met up with her we walked around World Showcase for the rest of the evening. My favorite part about World Showcase is France because of the girls that work there. (Sorry, I’m a guy!) I also love their accents.

At around 10’clock we headed back to the Poly and retired for the evening dreaming about what we would do the next day! ºoº
