**Fantasy Becomes Reality** Group--5/19/2012 (INDEX/ROLE CALL, PAGE 1--ENTRY 1)

Who were your servers?
Lena (Romania) - GREAT! Going to request her in future
Christian (Romania) - meh, this was only his second cruise. Needs lots more experience.

Where there any non-tipped staffers that made your cruise more special?
Nope - I tipped all that made it more special

What did you have signed?
Nothing

What did you splurge on?
Spa - Rainforest Passes, Couple's Massage on board, Couples Cabana Massage on Castaway Cay, Mani and Pedi's for both of us, Acupuncture (3 sessions each)

Lots of souvenirs - Chamilia bracelet and DCL Charm for Pam

120 pts at Aulani for both of us (ok, we'll be paying that off over a LONG time)

What do you regret not doing?
NOT MEETING YOU ALL AND HANGING OUT! But we all had so much to do.

Having more pictures taken. Both portraits and character. Always running late at dinner :rotfl:

Didn't spend enough time in the lounges, but Pam doesn't drink.

If you've sailed other DCL ships, how did the Fantasy compare?
Adult area MUCH nicer than Dream.

Favorite part of the ship?
SPA!

Favorite rotation restaurant?
Royal Court - we were off in one of the side rooms

Favorite excursion?
hehe - only one we did was self-guided. Went to Club Orient on Orient Bay, St Martin. Ummm . . . bared all and lounged and skinny dipped. Would definitely do that one again!

Favorite activity?
hehe - see above!

What was the highlight of the week for you?
was going to say "see above", but really it was meeting you all

Who did you want to meet but didn't get the chance?
The rest of the DIS folks that I didn't meet at the meet up.

What picture (that you took or was taken) do you like most? (Share!)
Have to post later - NO, not from excursion, geez. I think it's the Hidden Mickey on my toe that I got during the pedicure. Seems they won't let guys out without at least SOME nail polish

Anything that you regretted doing? (what happens on the sea.....)
Nope - can't think of anything

Who is still suffering from post-cruise-blues?
Too busy. August trip to WDW (OKW Grand Villa) coming up. Now in pre-cruise mode for November WDW Radio cruise with Richard Sherman. Can't wait to meet him! And then there's next year's Western Caribbean cruise (May 25th). And starting to plan for our first trip to Hawai'i at Aulani. I think I'll need a second job!

We missed the Dis meets, we hurried over to Cookies at Castaway Cay but couldn't find the meet. Thanks for dropping off our bands at our cabin. We were also part of the AllEars groups, so my extender was alway full. Here are some of our favorite pic.
A rare meeting with Tinkerbell

Hi, everyone! I've been MIA from the DIS since we got back, but now I've made a date with the boards to get caught up! We had a great trip. Hannah loved the club, and my sister and I got royally sunburned! Some woman on Castaway Cay even approached DSis to ask if she could put lotion on her back! :scared1: Very kind stranger, that was! I loved so much about the ship - Enchanted Art, the shows, Hannah's reactions, the atrium, the dining rooms (food wasn't as spectacular as I had hoped, but our servers were wonderful, and Palo and Remy were fantastic!), the staterooms, etc. It was just a wonderful, wonderful time!

It's hard to believe it's over, but we had a great time. I, too, am sorry we didn't get to spend more time with everyone. For those we did meet - reimero and Pirategirl (I know I misspelled that), Tony and Sue, John briefly, Maria, Meg, Bookite (great neighbors), nonni, and Jennifer and Kyle (spacecanada), thank you for your graciousness and warmth!

So now that we've sailed, what were the "not sure people will get our humor" fe gifts? Not sure we got them with all the confusion involved in our move.

Hi again! :) I was one of the worried people. I made the fridge magnets, and I was worried people would think it was in poor taste to mock real emergencies or problems people have. That's our type of humor, though, so we took a risk. Hopefully no one was offended!!!

Donaldsgal handed out word magnets and included some funny words you could print on your own that had a disclaimer that it's all in good fun. I thought it was really cute. When we finish unpacking, those magnets will be on our fridge for at least a few months! (Along with some of the awesome door magnets we got too...)

Yup! And I'll be responding your PM in a minute. :)

Hi all, very bittersweet end (finally) for us sending Greg off this morning and us on the overnight flight to Frankfurt shortly. What a great couple of weeks we had...and now, reality awaits.

So great meeting those of you that I did. I do wish we had had a mid-cruise chance to catch each other as a group as we are all running in different directions that first day or so.

Lara, thanks so much to you and Ron for getting us together and in sync that first day. Tony and Susan, Like everyone else, LOVED chatting with you guys, you make everyone feel like family. Bryan, it was a pleasure meeting you and thanks for the kind words. Jen, fun bumping into you all over. Barb, you were my first meet, and such a warm presence to start with. Jaimie, pretty much misses you girl, except for a brief moment at the Quiet Cove...looking forward to your blog update and wish you all the best. John, saw you and Pam only from a distance after the meet, but I sure hope you enjoyed the trip. Mati, your kind words before we sailed were special and I only wish we'd had a chance to have a glass of wine together, but your plate was quite happily full, it seemed. And so many other thoughts, I'll have to do the rest when my flight is not about to board.

We booked the Dream in early October as Greg gets back in September and I leave for a year in Baghdad in late October (Bryan, my joke is that I lost the 100 lbs so I could run faster in body amour...OK, morbid, but kinda true). We may or may not take that cruise, but we are locked in to a mid-June Med cruise in 2013 which will be one of my R&Rs. I highly encourage you all to do the Med sometime, we did a different version for our first Disney cruise and it was an amazing experience for our boys.

All the best to you all, and here's wishing that our paths will one day cross again...

Meg

It was you that lost 100 pounds? You look incredible! Yes, we saw you at Palo, the sailaway party, and in various other places. It was fun to run into you so much. I think we saw you most, second only to, who else?, Tony and Sue! :) And I didn't realize your job required deployment, too. I hope all goes well with that and that you stay safe!!!

We had a great time and would lilke to thank everyone who gave us the FE gifts! This was our fist time, and we were overwhelmed by the innovative, creative, tasty and fun stuff!

Also, thanks again for the wristbands to the unknown donator and to all those who helped order them and distribute! My son is still wearing his to this day! It really helped to identify those who were part of this DIS group.
It was nice to meet and chat with those whose paths we crossed during the week! We bumped into Tony and Susan the most, and really were so glad to meet in person.

We had a full itinerary, with my brother getting married in New Orleans 2 days before the cruise. We slept in 5 different places over the span of 12 nights! I have never unzipped and zipped up our luggage so much in such a short period of time. I've learned a lot about packing for the next time. Luckily, it all worked out.

I have to tell you that George and I never made it to the Adults only pool area, cafe, nor the spa. I only saw Alladin, missed the rest of the shows. We did try Palo and Remy, so that is part of the reason. I don't know where the time went, but is seemed to go so fast. We did a 'dummy' booking, just in case we decide to cruise again some time in 2014.

I have to say I got the best sleep ever on the cruise! The first night, I sat on the bed and felt like it was wiggling underneath me. I was scared I'd never get sleep. However, I think I must have passed out within minutes (very unusual for me to fall asleep so fast) and slept so well the entire week. Does anyone know what type of pillows they had in the standard inside cabins?

I'm still getting settled back home, but my appetite is still in vacation mode! Hoping to get our pictures printed and organized so we can show them to our family/friends. I'll be checking this board on occasion. :)

We ran into you in the store when you were shopping for some warm (and not super expensive) Remy attire. Did you end up liking it? We LOVED it!!! And thanks for managing the list of FEs for the people who didn't show for the cruise! :thumbsup2

What a great cruise, huh ?!?!? We couldn't have had better weather or better travelling companions . Like many others have said, we seemed to run into Tony and Sue more than anyone else :dance3:. Did you guys ever sleep :dance3:?? We did a dummy date booking; most likely a 2014 sail date. I'm dreaming of Hawaii , but we'll have to see how the 'ol vacation budget is :rolleyes1. We LOVED LOVED LOVED the bed and bedding :woohoo::love::banana::thumbsup2:cool1:. I would totally ditch our current bed and buy a replica of the bed on the cruise. It was absolutely heavenly. Last night Brian was asking if I knew who made the sheets because he liked them so much (and he NEVER asks about stuff like that :)). Remy was an incredible experience with a great friend  . Did anyone confirm the rumor that was circulating that Johnny Depp was on our cruise?? I uploaded almost 1,000 pictures on facebook and love to relive the trip by looking at them all and smiling....a lot :).

Was he really on the cruise? Wow! If someone got a picture, please share it!

What a great first DCL cruise! :cool1: Enjoyed visiting with those we were able to meet. Kathy was the first to introduce herself to us at the port, made us feel so welcome. Like others, we ran into Tony and Sue the most. Did you guys clone yourselves?!:rotfl: Saw John and Pam several times. Meet Maria at shutters looking for Aqua Duck pictures, she found one of ours and put it out for us to find. Thanks Maria! Saw Elaine and family several times, and Barb, and Jenny and her family. Sat next to Lisa (Sourgrapes) at one of the shows had a nice chat with her. Lisa, I hope Gavin got to do something at Castaway Cay. I think I saw Amy and her mom, and Mati around the ship but never got to officially meet them.

We also never really made it to the adult areas or cove cafe. Guess we'll just have to go again. The first time doing FE, was a great experience. So overwhelmed by all the gifts. Thank you everyone! Michael was so excited to check the mail everytime we went back to the room. He doesn't do that at home. Thank you all for making it so special for him.

We went to DW for a few days after the cruise. Not sure that was the best idea, although we really couldn't have gone before. If we have the option in the future we would probably do the cruise last.

We booked a dummy cruise, thinking maybe late May or early June 2014. Wanting to take the grandsons so will have to work around their schedule. Kind of leaning toward the Fantasy again because I know they would love the Aqua Duck and the Aqua Lab. We'll see when the itineraries come out.

Hopefully we shall cruise with some of you again!

Yes, it was fun to see you. Between AllEars and the FBR group, I think we saw you nightly. Michael and I both got to talk to Crush at dinner that first AP night, which was fun. And I enjoyed sitting next to and chatting with your husband at the first night's show. I'm glad you had a good trip!

Who were your servers?

Sheldon from India and Herry from Indonesia. We loved them!

Where there any non-tipped staffers that made your cruise more special?

Robby who did the Disney Trivia contest in La Piazza. You were there, Tony. He was just really funny! And a server from the Philippines who was one of the helpers in our life boat drill. We saw her frequently after that, and she always remembered us and was sweet to Hannah.

What did you have signed?

Just Hannah's autograph book.

What did you splurge on?

The Rumbaba charter, which was AMAZING! We saw an eel, 4 stingrays, several different types of fish, great coral, and two sea turtles. It was a fantastic experience!

What do you regret not doing?

Not getting more formal pictures taken by the Shutters crew. It seems we were always running late to things, and not getting naps regularly made the start of evenings a bit rough for Hannah in terms of grumpiness. We also never set foot in the movie theater, which is a bummer because we have had good luck with seeing funny movies on previous cruises.

If you've sailed other DCL ships, how did the Fantasy compare?

Bigger in general, more lush, more seating areas around the ship (or so it seemed), bigger atrium, more seating areas around ship, mini golf (Hannah accidentally sent a red golf ball flying over the deck, and I had visions of a Seinfeld episode in my head...) and AquaDuck, Enchanted Art, etc. Worse TV stations, though; maybe all DCL cruises have done away with this, but in the past, they had movie channels on. This time, there was very little on TV, which isn't a big deal, but when we were there with Hannah for some downtime and she wanted TV, there wasn't much to choose from.

Favorite part of the ship?

This is unoriginal, but I really think it's the atrium. I loved it, and every time we were there, I wanted to take pictures. I also liked the shopping "district" with the big picture of Walt as you walked into the theater.

Favorite rotation restaurant?

We liked Animator's Palate. The decor was the highlight, and I got to talk to Crush! Hannah loved seeing her animation on the screen. They didn't do a great job giving us directions about not putting writing on the animations, so we had to fill them in and they looked a little crazy, but it's all good.

Favorite excursion?

We only did one. The Rumbaba. Had we done 10, it still would have been number one.

Favorite activity?

We liked the Disney trivia contest in La Piazza, loved the AquaDuck, and enjoyed seeing the Enchanted Art/Midship Detective Agency.

What was the highlight of the week for you?

The Rumbaba charter was amazing. Remy was an extremely close second.

Who did you want to meet but didn't get the chance?

More of you!

What picture (that you took or was taken) do you like most? (Share!)

I did take some, but I can't get them to upload right now (internet is slow at my sister's house). Later, though!

Anything that you regretted doing? (what happens on the sea.....)

Oh my gosh. The Aqua Trikes on Castaway Cay. I thought they'd be fun, but apparently I was naive about how those would work. I thought we would ride them along the shore, but that's a big fat NO. We, meaning *I*, since Hannah couldn't help pedal it, "sailed" it out into the barricaded part of the water at CC, against the tide, with a constricting life vest on. I was sort of beside myself with panic at the thought of getting us back to the shore. I was afraid I'd have a heart attack or a stroke. Hannah tried to encourage me (how sweet) not to give up, and we got back, but on my gosh. Never. Again.

Who is still suffering from post-cruise-blues?

We have a trip to Hilton Head island at the end of this month for a week, so that is definitely helping to ease them! Otherwise, yes, I'm bummed it's all over!

Who were your servers?
Toto (Philippines) and Daniel (Chile), we were happy with both of them.

Where there any non-tipped staffers that made your cruise more special?
The staff at the kids clubs were good to the kids. We gave them edible treats.

What did you have signed?
I gave guest services pillowcases and fabric markers and got them signed by the characters for each of the kids. They really liked this surprise when they showed up in our stateroom on the second last night.

What did you splurge on?
Adult only brunch and dinners. Two of the liquor tastings.

What do you regret not doing?
Not making time to see the spa/rainforest room, not visiting the adults only pool and area, not seeing all the shows, not seeing any movies, not getting many pictures taken ... As you can see, we need to cruise again!

If you've sailed other DCL ships, how did the Fantasy compare?
Not applicable, but great to read the replies from others.

Favorite part of the ship?
I really liked the live music in the atrium.

Favorite rotation restaurant?
I can't say any one stood out over the rest, other than the amination show at Animator's Palate.

Favorite excursion?
We only did one, Bernard's Tours. It was worth it, but I would choose a more relaxing beach next time. The loungers were really close together and the beach sand dropped down sharply right in front of them. Maybe if we had wandered further from the drop-off point it would have been better, but I think I'd choose another. We were at Orient Bay, not the 'Crazy' side (as our driver liked to call it). I think I saw one woman walking topless on the family side, but I wouldn't have even noticed if the lady next to me wasn't pointing it out to her son.
Way to go John and Pam! ;)

Favorite activity?
The kids loved the Midship Detective Agency and Aquaduck! I liked the Champagne tasting.

What was the highlight of the week for you?
Watching the kids have a blast and get along better than usual.
Eating at Palo and Remy.

Who did you want to meet but didn't get the chance?
Many of the DIS group.

What picture (that you took or was taken) do you like most? (Share!)
I don't know how to do the picture thing. We had a really nice photo taken at our Palo dinner.

Anything that you regretted doing? (what happens on the sea.....)
No.

Who is still suffering from post-cruise-blues?
I am still suffering pretty bad right now.

Who were your servers?

Alex (Romania) server
Bojanna (Croatia) asst server
Leroy (Columbia) stateroom attendant for both our cabins
They were all absolutely WONDERFUL :dance3:. I sent an email to DCL after we got home, singing their praises :thumbsup2. I think they got choked up when we all gave them our tip envelopes and goodie bags on the last night. They told us how they would miss us all :grouphug:.

Where there any non-tipped staffers that made your cruise more special?

A very sweet "Earning My Ears" new CM that we met by the adult pool one day. You could tell that he LOVED his job . I asked him what his favorite part of working on the cruise was. He said that he loved seeing the pure joy on kids faces all day long.

What did you have signed?

Captain Marco signed my DCL Dooney and Bourke purse that I bought on board. I had him sign his name underneath a dead center DCL ship that is on the front of the purse :thumbsup2. I also had him sign a champagne flute from Ooo La La.

I left two photo mats at guest services and had the characters sign them. Soooo cute

What did you splurge on?

My Dooney and Bourke DCL purse and a Chamila charm bracelet and DCL charm (which was followed by a "few" Disney charm purchases at WDW following the cruise :rolleyes1 ).

What do you regret not doing?

Going to at least one Sunrise Stretch class. I brought my exercise clothes and shoes, so that counts a little, right :rotfl:?!?!?

If you've sailed other DCL ships, how did the Fantasy compare?

We have sailed on the Wonder and The Magic. The Fantasy was just so darn majestic by comparison. I think it's because it's so new. The beds/bedding are THE best I have ever slept on anywhere . I want that bed at home!

Favorite part of the ship?

Loved the "secret" little pool above the adult pool on deck 12 :woohoo:. It became our hangout spot and there were always chairs available.

Favorite rotation restaurant?

Animator's Palate hands down :thumbsup2. Our group of 13 had a perfect table that was right in front of one of the big screens. Jake is a very good artist and I thought it was so cool that on our last night at AP, his was the first animated figure :cool1:.

Favorite excursion?

Bernard's Tour was a total blast :woohoo:. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone. We had 9 in our group and we ended up with a private van and an awesome tour guide (John) who did a great job. He let us choose what beach we wanted to hang out at. We picked Maho Beach by the airport. Watching those planes take off and land was a surreal experience for sure. John had a fully stocked cooler of beverages for us and Brian served as bartender :rotfl2:. MaryRose became a BIG fan of rum punch that day :dance3:.

Favorite activity?

See above plus getting to reunite with old friends . It truly did not seem like 3 years had passed since our last cruise :grouphug:.

What was the highlight of the week for you?

Smiling so much that my face hurt from all the fun  and that heavenly bed :cloud9: (can you tell that I liked the bed :confused3 ). Remy and Palo dinner and brunch were awesome .

Who did you want to meet but didn't get the chance?

I never got to meet John and wished I would have. I probably passed folks and didn't recognize them. I should have reviewed the photos on page one before we left :).

What picture (that you took or was taken) do you like most? (Share!)

So many good ones :). I'll try and post some soon.

Anything that you regretted doing? (what happens on the sea.....)

Not exercising :( and not going to see more movies on board. I am a tight wad and hate to pay almost $10 to go see a movie. We did see The Avengers in 3D on pirate night which was waaaaaay cool :thumbsup2. Don't tell anyone, but Brian went and saw Tangled 3D with Jake and MaryRose and really liked it .

Who is still suffering from post-cruise-blues?

Of course I am :)! Since we have been home, every night I dream that we are still on board. For a few nights, I woke up in the middle of the night and struggled to remember where the bathroom was because I swore that we were still on the ship :scared1:. It helped that we went to WDW for 5 days after the cruise and that we booked a dummy date on board. I absolutely LOVE the planning aspect of any Disney trip, so that will help pass the time.

see above

What do you regret not doing?
Not making time to see the spa/rainforest room, not visiting the adults only pool and area, not seeing all the shows, not seeing any movies, not getting many pictures taken ... As you can see, we need to cruise again!

Well, Maria, it sounds like the this cruise was your practice run. Now it's time for the real thing!!! ;)

My apologies if the pics all import huge, but I'm trying to do this in a hurry....

Tony, Sues, Elaine, John, and I think that's Barb turned away.

Thanks for posting the pics!

Actually, I think that is Hannah standing and shaking hands with Susan. I had confused Hannah as being the MK cast member, but it is her sister that works there.

Who were your servers?
Tomislav (Tomi) from Croatia, Bien from the Phillipines. Both were great---we got to meet Bien's wife Hazel, who also worked on his same rotation. Tomi was awesome----we will request him in the future. He especially liked driving Susan's scooter around.

Where there any non-tipped staffers that made your cruise more special?
Yep, Helen/Guest Services and Loren (Retail Services/Art Gallery). Both acknowledged us repeatedly, and seemed interested in conversation. Loren even drew us a picture of Ariel with the ship, since we were hoping to buy the Precious Moment figurine on this cruise where she is holding the ship in her hand. Sadly, they didn't have it so Loren drew the pic. Then the last day, she presented me with a pin that had Ariel on it, and she drew the ship on the pin!

What did you have signed?
We had a photo mat signed, and also a ceramic white piggy bank. It was a pain to travel with, but I'm very happy with the results!

What did you splurge on?
Souvenirs, primarily. Hoodies. Susan wanted to get a D&B purse, but we used the money instead to re-book. Kathy---I'm sure Susan is jealous of your purchase!

What do you regret not doing?
Spending more time at Satellite Falls. I just found it to be so tranquil. Love the sound of falling water. I also wish we had stayed on the ship more while in the non-Disney ports. I could honestly do no excursions and just enjoy this amazingly beautiful ship! I also wanted to see more of the movies offered on board.

If you've sailed other DCL ships, how did the Fantasy compare?
I so loved this ship more. I understand peoples concerns with the larger crowds, etc, but this ship, and especially our stateroom, was so improved over the Magic.

Favorite part of the ship?
Satellite Falls! I did just look around in amazement each time I went into the main atrium. On the Magic, there was a little known public deck on the back of Deck 7 that I loved---and I don't think the same existed on the Fantasy---that was a bummer. Also on the NCL Epic, there was a viewing room where you could see the bridge and the staff working on it----I liked that!

Favorite rotation restaurant?
I think it was Enchanted Garden. I didn't expect much from it, and it surpassed my expectations.

Favorite excursion?
Probably the cheapest one! The Sky Lift to Paradise Point. Awesome pics. And we rode down with a 'very very very close friend of Jasmine from the Alladin show----in fact, they are so close, they share clothes!!! ;)

Favorite activity?
I'm still a sucker for trivia. I think we were at every dance party.

What was the highlight of the week for you?
Meeting people from the 'boards, definitely! Also, seeing The Avengers in 3D----one movie that I felt was ENHANCED by the 3D process.

Who did you want to meet but didn't get the chance?
mstinson14! carouselkr! cncdisney4! dlf246! JrandAJsMom! MomtoLLN! OKRaysLoveDisney! Sourgrapes! SpaceCanada! Where were y'all???? :rotfl: I'm glad that I met many, but would have liked to have more time to chat---I met Jaimie very briefly---same with Carol, MumfromOZ. Would like to have visited with John and Pam more (on the ship....hahaha). Had some great conversations with Lara, Mati, Joe/Chris, Elaine and family, and a sit down chat with Bryan.

What picture (that you took or was taken) do you like most? (Share!)
I have a few in mind that I will post soon. One thing---since we were a party of 16 over 6 staterooms, we took many many many more pictures with the ship photographers this time. We leveraged the amount of people etc to score some better pricing on our packages, CDs and all print copies. It took some influencing, but Susan and her sister Lisa were persistent and we split the costs.

Anything that you regretted doing? (what happens on the sea.....)
Just not slowing down more. I can see us sticking to 'no excursions' for some time to come. One other----the DVC presentation was OK, but I was really put off with the older male staffer at the booth across from future reservations. I found him to be very rude to us after attending the DVC and NOT booking an appointment for further discussion.

Who is still suffering from post-cruise-blues?
(stands up and waves both hands in the air) This guy right here! I had an AMAZING vacation, and need another one soon!

Ughhh, I'm falling behind on here again.

Tony, thanks for the pics. All of them are great.

Yep, that's Pam between Debbie (Nonni) and me.

John, tell Pam I really enjoyed visiting with her.

Okay, now for the questions.

Who were your servers?
Marco from Chile and Anxious from Zimbabwe (sp?)
Where there any non-tipped staffers that made your cruise more special?
Tina from the entertainment staff, we took the ship's walking tour with her.
What did you have signed?
We had a white vinylmation signed with multi-colored markers. Turned out great! I'll post a pic. if someone can guide me on how to do it.
What did you splurge on?
Well the biggest splurge was the add on points at DVC. I did get the ships charm for my bracelet. I was looking at the D & B purses but would have liked one just Disney and not the ships. We did splurge on a Thomas Kincade of the Lion King.
What do you regret not doing?
So many to choose from. All the adult areas, getting to visit with the DIS'er more, never made to any movies other than the Avengers.
If you've sailed other DCL ships, how did the Fantasy compare?
Haven't been on the others, but I really loved the Fantasy.
Favorite part of the ship?
All of it!
Favorite rotation restaurant?
Really like AP although the food in there wasn't as good as I thought it would be.
Favorite excursion?
Hmmm, of the two we did I would have to say the St. John's Island tour. May just do our own thing next time.
Favorite activity?
Loved watching all the characters interact with all the kids.
What was the highlight of the week for you?
Everything!
Who did you want to meet but didn't get the chance?
All the DIS'ers I didn't get to meet.
What picture (that you took or was taken) do you like most? (Share!)
I'll have to go through all of them and see, haven't looked real close at them yet.
Anything that you regretted doing? (what happens on the sea.....)
Can't think of anything I regret doing. Just regret the things I didn't get to do.
Who is still suffering from post-cruise-blues?
I'm tearing up just looking at all the pics. posted on here!

Meg, I never got to meet you but I think I may have seen you at Mama Melrose on Sunday after the cruise. Were you there by any chance?

Who were your servers?

Putra and Nicolas Couldn't tell you where they were from sorry :( Not the most memorable ones we've had. But they weren't horrendous like the Server from you know where we had on the Wonder in 2009. That server was so bad we were glad we only ate with her once out of 3 nights.

Where there any non-tipped staffers that made your cruise more special?

I'd have to say Tina who works in Entertainment (the ones who do like the shows in the tube with Max) she was pretty nice, warm, and remembered us by name. Fabiano who worked in tons of positions as a Flex team member. He never complained once about having to push me around the ship to get to the ADA seats in the WDT.

What did you have signed?

Nothing. We did it once in 2009 we still haven't even framed that photo mat yet. LOL so we skipped doing it again this cruise.

What did you splurge on?

A new Dooney & Bourke purse. It's the 2012 design and since my mother is eligible through my father as a Cast Member we got it at a pretty nice discount! That let me splurge also on the brown Inaugural Sweat Shirt Hoodie that they had in Sea Treasures. (Unfortunately I'm awaiting a replacement hoodie as the one they sold me has a defect so hopefully my new one will be here soon)

What do you regret not doing?
- Mini Golf...someone mentioned that here and I went "WHAT they had a mini golf?!?!?!!?" So yeah next time we are so going golfing!
-Swimming in the adult pool we spent most of our time in the Satalite falls area.
-getting a spa treatment
-not going back for more time in the rainforest room. Only spent 2 hours there on Day 3.
- Finding a place to stowaway so that I could secretly live on the fantasy.

If you've sailed other DCL ships, how did the Fantasy compare?

I think that the fantasy is a beautiful ship, I think its larger, the details that were put into the ship are amazing, I think they did somethings really well like the Aquaduck and Palo. I think that the Cabanas restaurant is way more improved over Topsiders/Beach Blanket buffet and has fixed many of the complaints we had and why we never ate at those types of places on the Classic ships. I think that the Adult Entertainment Area (why does that sound bad?) is very well laid out, has a little bit for everyone one, and the activities they offered were entertaining and were for a wide array of guests.

What I found as faults for the fantasy over the classic ships are that its larger. I think the ship feels too big its less personable in interaction with staff. On the Classic ships you would constantly see the same cast members over and over again, they would get to know you by name and remember it, the classics felt more intimate and relaxing you never felt like you were doing nothing but walking form one place to the other. Everything seemed to be close to the other. On the Fantasy its so big that staff seems to be always running from here to there and weren't always seen more then once. An example I can give is on the Classic ships we constantly saw the cruise directors they would be up on deck walking around shaking hands, asking guests how their trips were, they seemed accessible.

On The fantasy the ship is so big and so spread out that the only time we ever Saw Ray was during the stage shows, and a glimpse of him standing a top the Mickey Slide for pirate night with the stage hands and he was running through Palo having had brunch with Captain Marco at the same time we had it. Other then that we never saw him. I think that the food was better on the Wonder in the Main dining room. The menus offered on the Classics always had something I was willing to try and something I knew I would like. On the new ships the menus have smaller portions, and the choices were way more adventurous then the classics were. Which for some might be a plus but I got tired of eating steak constantly because there was nothing else I would like to eat. I will say that there were some nights I went to bed wishing I had more to eat because I seriously stopped ordering steak and just picked around the food they had. My serving team was nice but when I asked for something prepared different (leave off a side, exchange that side for a child's mac n cheese etc) and nothing that was not available in a different entree they were annoyed and acted like it was possible and then brought out my meal just as it was on the menu no changes made.

Between that and the table mates we were given we both agreed next time we cruise we are asking for our own table and if we get a serving team who seemed to ignore simple requests (we weren't asking them to make something that was NOT on the menu) that we would ask for a new serving team. It's sort of depressing hear others rave about their servers and for us to continue to get duds. I mean these two were nice enough they would talk to you, they would help you with your napkin, tie your bandana on for pirate night, and do some puzzles with us but instead of doing that I would rather they gave me proper service in terms of what I ordered.

So we loved the Fantasy we thought she was beautiful and we will be excited to try the Dream but we prefer the classic ships overall. We like the compact in comparison size and think they are more personable.

Favorite part of the ship?

Satellite Falls

Favorite rotation restaurant?

Animator's Palate

Favorite excursion?

We took two different island tours 1 on St. Maarten and 1 on St. Thomas. We had already done the same tours in 2006 and they didn't disappoint this time either. But between the two Islands I preferred the tour and the Island on St. Thomas.

Favorite activity?

Napping by Satellite Falls :)

What was the highlight of the week for you?

Seeing Michael in Palo and getting to have him as our server again. Met him in 2009 he was so good to us we ate at Palo 3 out of 4 of the nights. We thought he left the company to help his parents but ran into him at Meridian on Night 2 of the cruise while waiting for our table at Palo. He remembered us by name and arranged to have us in his section.

Who did you want to meet but didn't get the chance?

More of you guys. I ran into Mati once, Jaimie once, Tony & Sue a billion times (are you sure you guys aren't stalkers or cloned or something), ran into 5Dreamers at the Port Terminal and saw her family at dinner at AP all 3 nights, but I really wanted to meet and hang out with more of you.

What picture (that you took or was taken) do you like most? (Share!)

I'd have to say at this point the picture taken of us at Palo by Shutters. We bought it but haven't scanned it in yet. I have 1200 photos and some videos I am working on and if you would like follow along I am doing a trip report here on the DIS some of you have found it already but I'm sharing as many photos as I can within reason of course!

Anything that you regretted doing? (what happens on the sea.....)

Going to that stooooooopid shopping lecture. I fell asleep during it thats how bad it was. My mother insisted we go and while it got us a card for free internet and free drinks at a store in St. Maarten we won't be doing it again!

Who is still suffering from post-cruise-blues?

Always. At least its less then a year until I'm on the Dream. After that cruise though not sure what will be happening since I have to see where I am in school, and our cash flow, and we might be doing Disneyland or other vacations Gasp I know!
