John, are you back from Florida yet?

Yep, got back on Saturday. Sat in traffic in NC for two hours while a fatal accident was cleared, so we didn't get home until real late.

Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room is great. While a little shorter than the original, it has all the charm of the original and none of the obnoxiousness of the last one. Missed the soft opening on Sunday, but was there for the official opening on Monday. One tip. DON'T try to be the first ones in. They'll have you move all the way down to the rope by the doors and you won't be able to see the pre-show (which is new).

Star Tours: The Adventure Continues was GREAT! I went on it once early in the week, and then on Friday, went to ride it as much as I could. Got there at 10:35 and got a FP for 11:15. Went stand-by, rode and got out at 11:13. Waited a few minutes until I could get another FP at 11:15 and picked one up for 12:05. Rode again via the FP. Hung around a bit, waited until 12:05 and got a second FP for 12:50. Went to lunch over at Backlot Express. I like the Turkey and Cheese panini there, so took it easy for a while. Waited until about 12:40 so I could use both FPs back-to-back. Rode it and then came back out to get back in FP line. The line was backed all the way out! hmmmm Saw a line of girls with light blue T-Shirts in the line and a cameraman slowly walking down the line taping them all. He got to the end of the line then went back to the front. CMs started letting us in so we could pass all the girls. When I got to them, saw that the back of the T-Shirts read "Miss America Pageant". Got to rub elbows with all 50 contestants all the way up that line! Oh, and the ride was good too! All in all there are 11 scenes with 4 playing in each ride (opening, primary destination, transition, secondary destination) - I saw 9 of them on my 5 rides, just two to go. Hope to be back in December using an AP room discount.

As far as the name goes, I like "Fantasy Becomes Reality" too.

I went back to see what I had posted for the second round of choices; this is what I found on Page 1:

we will kick off a second-stage survey of the top ten vote-getters and end with a winner. That second round of voting will be limited to one vote-----that vote will likely be submitted by Private Message----one vote per DisBoard name, because each of the poll sites can limit to one vote per submission, but do not seem to be able to limit to one submission per IP address, etc. Actually, it can be Private Message or we can just post your top 1 choice on the thread; we have nothing to hide, right?

This was on post 482:

Remember that end game is that we narrow down to either top ten or top five, and open a new poll that allows everyone only ONE VOTE.

I know as well as anyone that there are MANY pages, and MANY entries. It's hard to keep up with, and easy for a tidbit of information to get lost in the shuffle.

Keeping all of that in mind, unless anyone protests and wants the spreadsheet votes to occur, I think we should just move on. Either way, I don't think I should be the one to make that final call.....because I helmed the posting of the poll, and therefore just wouldn't feel right------kinda like insider trading. Honestly, I am fine with any outcome. I just want to move on..... It's really been bugging me that anyone might feel slighted...or that it might be taken that I (1) wasn't clear, or (2) skewed an outcome. It makes me realize why sweepstakes and contests have pages and pages of rules and disclaimers!

Heck....I'd be fine with 'The No-Namers'!!!!

So, all of our new friends........Susan and I will step back and just say 'Que Sera, Sera'....whatever will be, will be.

I know it is not 100% unanimous - but it seems that "Fantasy Becomes Reality" has been the frontrunner in all cases - especially if you add in the numbers for "May 2012: Fantasy Becomes Reality".

How about we call it for "Fantasy Becomes Reality" and if anyone has an issue with that decision they have until Sunday midnight to contact/PM you. After that its a done deal - and if there is a problem I would be happy to personally set up some sort of tracking to take everyones votes - but I don't think that is gonna be necessary.

I didn't spend this much time naming my kids. It is time to light this candle!

Tony, I think I speak for most of us (I'd hope what I'm saying would be true for all of us) when I say that you have been nothing but helpful, thorough, and fair throughout this process. In truth, I try not to be someone who always compares my fate to that of other people, but really - there's a big hurricane headed toward the States, the economy is crap, Libya's a mess.... we're naming a cruise group meet, you know? If anyone has been offended or taken this too seriously, they are of course entitled to their feelings, but I just don't think it warrants offense. My heart is heavy that you're bothered by this, Tony. I think you've been wonderful and patient with all the things you've done for our group (let's not forget you're the one who keeps adding new members' info to the front of the thread), so I hope you don't feel bad for long. And I'm sure you didn't write what you did in order to be complimented or praised, but I wanted to share my gratitude for all you've done because I mean it. You've been great, and I really, really hope no one's attitudes about the group (including you) have been dampened through this process. It's a cruise group, and we're meant to have fun. So let's have fun!

I think it's been lit. I suggested a few pages ago that we just officially adopt Fantasy Becomes Reality, and several people agreed. So, I think we're named! But I think it's wonderful of you to offer to do the survey if it had been needed.

Tony, since this is your thread, could you please go ahead and change the name?

Have a fabulous day everyone! I watched the Dream sail out on the webcam at the port and listened to "Once Upon a Dream" on my iPhone.... loved it, and am so excited to go next year. I'm also grateful we aren't traveling during hurricane season!

I have not been posting much, sorry for that with packing ,moving, looking for a house the wedding and all.

thank you to everyone who has been so involved in this naming process. i'm sorry the polling didn't work out neither the poll site i randomly suggested nor the 2nd one that we (my group) may have skewed but in the end i think it all works out well, hope there's no hard feelings again, i absolutely appreciate all the hard work that has been put into this, and i agree that this is supposed to be fun and a distraction of the chaos that is in the world around us.

For those that are wondering what DIS green is, it seems that the DISigners (check out their forum on the boards here) have come up with a neon green as the color of the boards. Here's one designer's take on this. RustManFan has some great designs for door magnets.
