Thanks for the vote of confidence John, although I'm not sure it is deserved....

As we all know, this is just a busy time of the year for everyone. I don't want to slight anyone of their 'last-chance' to get their suggestion in. I'd like to propose a deadline. Today is 6/22, and I think we should allow until 7/15 or so to get all suggestions in. As much as I try to consolidate everything, I don't want to find out after the fact that someone really valued their suggestion and it wasn't added to page 1. Vacations and holidays considered, I think we should allow until 7/15. Soooooo.....please take a moment to make sure your suggestions are represented. I'd like to say I could go thru the threads and make sure it is complete, but I know I don't have that time to commit.

After 7/15, we can create the poll, and give it a good two weeks for everyone to vote. From there, I think we should narrow down to a top 5 or top 10---open it as a poll again and come up with our winner. When you have so many suggestions as we do, the winner could have very few votes if we only do one polling round, and not represent 'the masses'. Besides, not being familiar with the polling options out there, we would probably bring a system to its knees with all of the choices!!!

Also, by distancing this out a bit, we are 1) giving everyone a chance to speak up, and 2) publish that we should have a name by Labor Day or so. If you snooze, wellllllll....wake up and vote!

If you would rather private message me, please do so...I check these boards frequently.

Also, John....I will get the link set up to the FE spreadsheet, hopefully tonight.

Yikes....I did this wrong! I said we would collect additional names until 7/15; I'm closing the poll until then. I will add additional choices as they come in.

on our last cruise the person in charge of the FE (or at least our half, since it was split) had both the gender and age of each child on a spreadsheet. i think that comes in handy. in fact i was at walmart today and saw some disney stuff (the beauty of booking this far in advance, you can keep your eyes open, lol!) and was wishing i knew the approx number of girls over about 8... obviously this will change as we add people.

oh and on that subject, another thing we did iirc is we closed the first FE group a few months before sailing and then started a new one for those that joined dis closer to the sailing. that way the die hards could really get down to business on making/finding stuff for their fe gifts b/c they would know exactly how many and who they were collecting for. not saying we have to do this, but it was nice enough that i thought i'd share the idea.

I agree. We always had the ages and gender of the children specified for the FEs so we would give gender and age appropriate gifts. So this is just a little bump to make sure that we get the genders on the spreadsheet. I think we're good with the ages at this point.

This will certainly be a challenge. However, it really is fun to give things. If it's split into smaller groups, we'll still be giving something to everyone. It's just fun for us!

Let's just hope that the inaugural travelers don't get on board and strip the ship of carpet tiles, pillows, drawer pulls, dinnerware (etc.) like those that did the same on the Dream!

Seriously thank you for putting this together! I have been wondering how many FEs I need to make (or attempt to make) and how many children (ages and gender info is great) This will make it a lot easier to plan

We will still be going on the cruise, but I'd like to be taken off the group FE list.
I'm still going to read the boards and maybe join in a few meet & greets, but we won't be participating in much.

Sorry I haven't been around, seems like things are getting more and more hectic this summer!

I'm currently attending a conference for American Sign Language Students, Interpreters, and members of the Deaf Community. It's been amazing but its killing my study time.

I'm buried with my last two classes for my AA Degree they are 6 weeks long and cramming 4 months worth of work into that means I have no time for anything.

I graduate August 2nd (won't walk until May 2012 just before the cruise) but start my BS Degree end of August. My grandmother is staying with us for a month and a half (Might be longer) and we are going away for 5 days during these 2 classes to Sanibel island. Glad the hotel has Free wi-fi so I can keep up with work.

My mother is facing major spine surgery, but is trying to hold off long enough to do it after the cruise but if she can't then she's facing 2 months out of work minimum so if that happens we will have to postpone. So between school and this fact I haven't been getting excited about the cruise.

So sorry I haven't been active, and/or chatty just a lot going on.

Glad you got the note! Been wondering about you and Kathy, I hope you had a great time on your last trip! Sorry to hear that you will be pulling back a bit, was looking forward to seeing your FE! Are you still making them? I hope your pulling back has nothing to do with something that we said here on the boards! I'm sorry that you have been so busy! It will all be worth it in the end! I hope you get to go on the cruise too! I am no longer working related to my RA so I know losing my nursing income has a big impact on our cruise seems like we always have more going out than coming in these days! Can we say budget! So I feel ya! I hope all goes well and make sure your name choice is in there and check back in for the poll! See pg 25 or 26! Study hard!
