**Fantasy Becomes Reality** Group--5/19/2012 (INDEX/ROLE CALL, PAGE 1--ENTRY 1)

lol-- I'm going stealth mom tomorrow, lol :-) I really don't like how things are progressing with him, so I want some more answers. He still has this weird rash and now it's on his arms and legs and he's complaining of his throat and belly and his ankles hurting (?). Since the end of school has been a bust already, I just want him to feel better for summer since the last day of school is just a week away! On the plus side, his wanting to lie around has made for some fun sitting at the computer and looking at the ship :)

Stealth is the only way to go! I went with the flow for what seemed like forever! My same son has been going through some health stuff too. But he is 21 and I don't have much of a say these days. I did push hard and he had a hospital stay with an upper and lower GI workup, a ct and blood work. I know he doesn't have an ulcer, wild raging infection, and his white count is normal so should be no cancer! Those were my thoughts so I think I will be just pushing him to cont. To follow up with the dr.

Did your son get worked up for mono? Do you have a cat? I know it sounds funny but cat scratch fever is something to look at if you have a cat! I'm glad you are able to be on the boards more often but not at the cost of your son being sick! Good luck and keep us updated!:flower3:

Our cruise was a huge percentage Canadian also and we were on the Magic Jan 29th-Feb 5th group. I guess Canada is dealing with the economy better than us in the US!

~Carole
Ours was feb 27 th of 2010 and the schools in Canada were on spring break! I remember seeing this little boy he was so cute, they were from Canada he was adorable and I saw them everywhere on the ship. His parents could have thought me a stalker, I just think it is funny how you can see the same people over and over again! Oh we also met a couple that live in our home town and the wife worked in the same hospital that I did. She was a dr in the er and I a nurse in ob. Small world!

:eek:Whew!! It's taken me over an hour to read through all the pages. We are going to be on this cruise too!

I hope I listed everything I was supposed to.

This will be our first offical Disney Cruise. We went on the Big Red Boat over 20 years ago but Disney does not consider that as being a past guest. We are SUPER excited!! :woohoo:
welcome to our group and you must be a super reader it took me a long time to catch up and we joined back in December and the threads started in oct, I think? Oh well I do get distracted easily:banana: looking forward to getting to know you too! How many days?

JorDan and Kathy.....tell us about your trip!!!!

What can I say....JorDan was an AWESOME Disneyland tour guide . We did everything and some things multiple times :woohoo:. My internal map of WDW kept tripping me up though. I would see an attraction that was in WDW and expect to see a certain attraction beside it and it wasn't there :confused3. I loved Disneyland , but my favorite part of the trip was spending time with JorDan, Chad and my little buddy Graysen :grouphug:. Those Disney bonds are pretty strong princess:!

We just returned from a trip to Hawaii. While there, we visited the new Aulani resort on Oahu and got to tour part of the grounds and see a couple of model rooms. Very beautiful and impressive facility though its not anywhere near ready for occupation yet. We had to wear coveralls, helmets and safety glasses just to enter the building and weren't allowed to take any photos.

The Aulani is located about 1/2 hour west of Honolulu Airport (Waikiki is about 1/2 hour east of the airport) in a complex with three other resorts (two owned by Marriott) so they share some of the same amenities (golf course, restaurants, stores, etc). Its right on the beach though we weren't allowed to visit it.

We decided we needed to return to Hawaii and stay at the Aulani. Or maybe take a cruise of the islands. Or BOTH!!!

So easy to get the two confused! Tony and I just had an argument on how many times we have been to the land. Of course I won! I spent a majority of my childhood Disney trips at DL. I was one of fourteen children and my parents would take us there every other year. I always feel like it is a little slower paced! What about you? I'm glad you had a great time!

Hi!! As I said on the MR thread, we were disappointed we didn't get to meet anyone on that cruise! Which is the first time that's ever happened. Looking forward to meeting you this time around!

Chasity ~ I was SOOOOOO glad that I got to see you and Gus while JorDan and I were at Disneyland :cool1:. I swear, it really felt like no time had passed since I last saw you guys, especially not two years :scared1:. Thanks for taking the time to drive up to see us :grouphug:. I am crossing my fingers that your vacation time at work works out so you guys can still go on the Fantasy cruise .

COUNTDOWN CLOCK: 357 days! Or 51 weeks if that sounds closer to you!

We've booked this cruise this past week while on the Dream. We hope that nothing gets in our way of taking it. However, it is nearly a year away. For now though we are planning on it. Our little guy, will not be joining us. We thought it would be a great way to celebrate our 5 year anniversary (6 months late)!

Sooooo....we continue to grow, and grow, and grow....and we are still nearly a year out from the cruise date!!!!

Do we want to adopt a standards guideline for fish exchange? Is the goal to deliver a gift per stateroom or a gift per traveler?

This is our first time participating in FE, so my preference would be one gift per stateroom, and if you want to do more than that, it would be your choice.
That one gift could be a baggie of small items that cover multiple age groups.

Typing this, it feels like I might be accused of taking the fun out of this, but the number of participants is looking a little overwhelming!

Are there any volunteers to try to organize this? JorDan---didn't you organize for a prior FE? Would you be interested in doing it for this group, or maybe mentoring someone else that does it?

I can take one of the reserved entries on page one and type up a summary of who is participating in the FE.....Susan's idea.

Any ideas are welcome!!!

I don't think we need to set any standards or requirements. On my previous cruise, it was the individual's choice whether to give one per person or one per cabin (or even a combination).

However, given the growing size of our group (even if not everyone participates in the FE exchange), I am seriously thinking of doing one gift per stateroom instead of per person (as I did on my last cruise). Logistically this is going to be a challenge no matter how you look at it - getting the FE gifts to the ship, delivering them, and then transporting all the loot, er...gifts, back home again!

I don't think we need specific guidelines on the FE gifts. On our last cruise some people gave 1 gift per stateroom, some gave us each a gift, and I know at least 1 person gave us each a gift every day!

Whatever anyone chooses to give is great! My kids are just happy to go back to the room and find goodies in their FE pockets!;)

I have heard of some cruises splitting their FE lists if they get too long, but since it's a whole week I don't mind a long list

Our last cruise the FEs were up to you on how you wanted to do it. But I think for this group, it should probably be 1 gift per cabin. This group is growing very fast and we still have 11 months left to go. Especially for first time cruisers, they might be shocked at how much FE gifts can add up to. EX.-If we got up to 60 cabins participating and you spent $3 on a gift per cabin, thats an extra $180 you need to plan for.
But then again, to each their own. We can recommend 1 gift per cabin and if people want to do more they can.
I was not in charge of the FEs last time, so I would like to not be in charge if that's ok. Thanks! Too much going on now, that I can't really think about it.
