**Fantasy Becomes Reality** Group--5/19/2012 (INDEX/ROLE CALL, PAGE 1--ENTRY 1)

SO Excited!!!! 1st Voyage of the Fantasy sets sail today!!! We will be watching her live on the Port Canaveral web cam and having once heck of a sail away party! Hooking up the laptop to the big screan!! We are going to watch her sail out LIVE! Can't believe we will be the 5th cruise for her!!! :cool1:

Hope you all are just as excited and plan to watch and party too!!!

Another quick idea that we had done on a previous carnival cruise with our board members.... everyone (or just about) is going to wear a lanyard with your KTTW right?? Well on that cruise someone made a template that said our board name then you print your name under and put it on the same color paper/cardstock/laminated and put it on your lanyard with your key card and that way just by looking for those colored name cards, you could see who was on your board......anyone interested in this???

Ok, back to spring cleaning to get rid of this excited energy!!!

Lots of rain on the webcam right now. Sort of spoiled the Sail Away Party I guess, at least having it OUTSIDE.

EDIT: Sure are a lot more webcam viewers on now than this morning. I guess I'm not the only one excited to watch the Fantasy set sail.

EDIT AGAIN: Looks like the rain has stopped!

Wow! Over 1,000 watching the webcam! popcorn:: This is so exciting and I can't wait until we are standing on the Fantasy waiting to sail! :cool1:

I actually remembered to watch the webcam today! So exciting. That together with the fact that we made our fish extenders today, I'm in a cruise mood. I'll try to post a pic later cuz I'm really proud of how they turned out. Now I need to put the gifts together. Finally decided what we're giving!

Packing up the car to go to COSI and then up to Cleveland to visit my parents til Thursday... But all I keep thinking is that the next time this suitcase is packed, it'll be for a CRUISE! We can "officially" say that it's NEXT MONTH! :)

I really like being able to identify other DISers. I sometimes attend activities alone and I look for a DISer to sit with. I always know they will be friendly to a stranger and not mind having me join their group!

On other cruises, we've worn green wrist bands, but after a few days it seemed people forgot to wear them. The lanyards are usually on you.

Is there anyone in our group who has the computer design skills to make a nametag we can insert into our lanyards? (This is NOT my area of expertise!)

I've seen the distribution of the tags done in several ways. Sometimes a person stays in the terminal for a preset time and gives them out. I've seen a location on deck where someone gives them out in the late afternoon before the sail away party. Also, the tags can be divided up and volunteers deliver them to your cabin door. (I'd volunteer to help with that. It's a good way to explore the ship.)

WOULD THE GROUP LIKE TO DO THIS? :dance3:

I can ask my son, (the computer major) to design a spreadsheet for people to use if they would like name tags for their family. He'll be home from school next weekend for Easter if we can decide by then.

So we would need a volunteer that can design the nametags and know how to print them. And then a few people to help distribute them.

Actually, we could also just have the colored tags printed with DIS on it and each person could write their own name on the tag instead of having them totally preprinted. Then we would just need a number for how many to print. We don't want this idea to stress anyone out!

Any other ideas on how to coordinate this??

Barb :beach: See you all soon!

What we had done previously, was just used the same template design, and then printed them ourselves at home. That way no one had to had them out, and those that didn't want to wear them, didn't print them.

I am going to out to the store and then when we get home I will upload photos and video from yesterday. We had a blast at Jetty Park.

I would love to have a name tag so that I can identify those that have been here and chatting. I can work up a template for us to use if you would like give me a day or two to work on it.

Uncle Tony is home and doing much better and continues to improve which is really great and a miracle given they thought for sure he'd be gone by now. So we are thankful for this extra time with him.

I make magnets on vistaprint for our cruise. Here is last year's and this year's. I also attched a copy of our "Ladies" tea. We had a blast.
Special tribute to my friend Janet, (second from right) who passed away last year after a long illness. Shoes99 (Michele) is on the left.

Sometimes I wonder why my brain has to make everything so complicated!!!! :rotfl:

Yes! A template for the group and then we can print our own. Maybe decide on all using green paper to help identify us from a distance?

YES! a posted template and then people can print their own. How about we decide on everyone using green paper so we can identify DISers from a distance?

HAHA I don't know how I got that posted twice! I told you computer skills were not my thing!

Just excited about our cruise I guess!!!

What a lovely picture, Michelle. You all seem so happy. I'm sorry to hear about your friend, but I'm sure she will be watching over you from heaven.:littleangel:
