Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving break!!!! I don't know about other places, but the weather here was WONDERFUL! Couldn't have asked for better I took my FE out and have it hanging in our laundry room so I can be reminded of what there is to look forward to after the winter freeze as I put our summer clothes away for hibernation... Few more months!

We had Canadian Thanksgiving in October, so no break for us. However, the weather has been lovely the past week. After a week of -30C/-22F with lots of snow and high winds, it has warmed to a very comfortable 0C/+32F today. Much of that snow has melted. All the Christmas lights everywhere make the long winter nights more cheerful. (We only have sun for ~7 hours these days.) And less than 6 months until our Florida/Caribbean vacation!!

It's official, the Star Wars weekends will begin the day before our cruise. Those visiting WDW should avoid or attend Hollywood Studios as they prefer.

I know my husband is doing a big happy dance - he's always wanted to attend a Star Wars weekend. We'll probably be at Hollywood Studios on Friday to take in as much as we can before I have a meltdown from Star Wars overload. For my husband's sake, because I want him to live out his boyhood dreams, I hope I'll last until lunch time.

How do you get to see the characters (Minnie, Mickey, etc.?) dressed up in Star Wars costumes? Are they just wandering around, in a performance, or are there 90+ minute queues to see them? I guess I'm trying to figure out how to plan the day to increase fun-ness for my husband and reduce Star Wars overload/meltdown for myself.

We did a star wars weekend last year at WDW - it was a hoot. Loved the star tours ride and it was to see the characters dressed up as star wars folks.

I've been missing in action from here, but read the last few pages of the thread today.

We are on the FE list and very excited to participate, but I wonder if we should close it more than 6 weeks out? I am not very artsy-craftsy and what I plan on doing I'll need longer to order and get organized - does anyone else feel this way? I would prefer 10 weeks; by then most people will have long made up their minds if they want to participate and booked the cruise.

Also, I didn't see anything (probably missed it) about a logo for a t-shirt or a theme? If someone would be kind enough to point it out to me; thanks much!

To all those who lost loved ones in the last few months since I've been gone I am deeply sorry and send my sympathy!

Welcome! So great to have a nice big and growing group The more the merrier!!!!

Hope everyone is surviving the cold! I love snow, but it seems that we are just cold and dreary here-- just rain and sleet but cold enough to make it yucky... I figure if it's going to be cold, we might as well have something pretty to look at (and fun to play in!!!!). Looking forward to some snow days, but probably only because I have the Caribbean to look forward to after them!!!!!

just back from michigan COLD SNOW MUD RAIN well yeap all the reasons I left it. I got to pop century last night tierd never made it to the parks and left this morning , back to tampa, 22 in michigan 80 down here

While I was up in michigan I did get with a shop I have used in the past to do cruise shirts been very HAPPY with there price quaility and work. they will set up a page and I can put it up on here, NOW I am NOT great or even good on this so when they have it done good bad or what ever, If no one likes there work or anything it works for me. Just something I"m trying to do to help. Should have something up next week for everyone to add to take away or ?????????? will keep you up dated when its done

Oh! And I almost forgot I had an idea... Actually, I stole an idea Anyway-- on our last cruise, we had a meet and the families who wanted to participate brought something reminiscent of their hometown/state and took part in a "gift exchange" of sorts... As people turned in their item, they put their family name on a piece of paper and a name was picked to receive each gift. I know we have the FE on DCL, but I thought it might be another fun addition if anyone was interested... Maybe not, but I thought I'd throw it out there

We have 2 cabins and i think we will participate in the fish extender. We never have before but it sounds fun. Been counting down forever since we booked opening day. Can't wait.
