now find the

HIDDEN MICKEYS ??????

How do you get to see the characters (Minnie, Mickey, etc.?) dressed up in Star Wars costumes? Are they just wandering around, in a performance, or are there 90+ minute queues to see them? I guess I'm trying to figure out how to plan the day to increase fun-ness for my husband and reduce Star Wars overload/meltdown for myself.

As best as I can tell, this post got lost in the busy-ness of the last page!
I would like to tack on our question of recommendations from WDW veterans how important to avoid Hollywood Studios Friday? We arrive afternoon Thursday, and had planned to do Magic Kingdom Thurs night, Animal Kingdom Friday AM, and then HOllwood Studios Friday night. Logically, we should swap Magic King and HOllyw, but we have a dinner ressie for Magic KIng Thurs night that I hoped to keep (the lady and tramp italian place).
Any thoughts to my question and spacecanada's??

The shirt looks good.:thumbsup2

How many hidden Mickey's are there?

I found one on the bow, one on the top, one on each funnel.

Welcome to all the newcomers!:yay:

We are on the FE list and very excited to participate, but I wonder if we should close it more than 6 weeks out? I am not very artsy-craftsy and what I plan on doing I'll need longer to order and get organized - does anyone else feel this way? I would prefer 10 weeks; by then most people will have long made up their minds if they want to participate and booked the cruise.

:thumbsup2 I agree.

OK. I am now ready to come back to this thread. We booked this cruise on opening day & have put planning it on hold as it was so far away. Now we are starting to think about it & getting really excited. We would like to sign up for the fish extender group. We think the kids would love it. We haven't told them about the cruise yet. There will be two adults & two kids.

Hi guys, I have not been in here for months. It is getting closer so quickly! I have decided to join the FE. I am on the spreadsheet but as not participating. There are a lot of people on this cruise so would it be ok if I did a per cabin gift??

Also how to I get added to the roll call on the front page?

Yay! More newbies  And "oldies" jumping in as we get closer :) As I look out the window at my boys playing in the cold first "real" snow, I look forward to this more and more!!!

Mum-- Some people on our last cruise did a gift per cabin, so I'm pretty sure that's good. We do have a big group! It's going to be fun :woohoo:

Wondered if I could ask for some prayers from the group... I was referred to a surgeon a few months back for what we thought was just my gallbladder shutting down. He wanted to do some tests first (b/c I've had 2 big surgeries in a year and a half) because he wanted to check some other things out. I went in last Monday for an EGD where they took some polyps out of my stomach and took some biopsies and his office called and said they want me to come in to see him tomorrow. Thinking that he's just going to decide to move ahead with simply taking the gallbladder out, but nervewracking nonetheless! In a silly kind of way, I'm just hoping that he doesn't tell me that I need to restrict my diet because I LOVE to eat and it's probably one of my favorite things about traveling, haha

One last thing-- I noticed that there are quite a few 7-8-9 year olds in the group. I have 7 and 9 year old boys who are pretty psyched about having kids their age on the trip... I don't know if anyone has/does email with their kids (I never have) but was thinking maybe we could "pen pal" through email before the trip if anyone else was interested. Like I said, I've never done it before with the boys, but they're at that age where it's really neat to meet new people and keep in touch :) Just thought I'd throw it out there!

JGamy-- I just saw that you're from Hudson... I grew up there! My parents still live off of Boston Mills Road-- We're raiding their house for Christmas, haha :) Anyway-- Just wanted to say hi! Small world :)

JRandAJ'sMoM- I grew up in Hudson, also. My parents live on Norton rd. Graduated from HHS in 1978. A long time ago! Looking forward to May 2012.

My 9 year old son would love to email with your boys, but we aren't telling him about the cruise for awhile. Hopefully, when we do, I will remember to come back here & look you up.

That is too funny!!! My grandparents lived in the house that used to be across the street from Arby's-- where the gas station is now (although I don't look there because I pretend the house is still there... I haven't looked at the gas station to this day, lol :)). My uncle was the last of the 4 in that generation to graduate HS in 79, so I'm betting you guys know each other :)

That would be great! We totally surprised the boys with a cruise in February... We were "driving by" the ship and stopped to "take a picture..." My hubby pulled out hats for them to wear for the pic that said "My mom and dad surprised me with a cruise!" Best surprise ever! My boys are beyond excited for this one... They think they're going to be living in the clubs for 7 days straight... I did have to tell them they have to come out to at least eat with us, haha :-) I have a feeling once we hit the warm weather and the pool deck catches their eye, that won't be a problem :)

Ours won't be a total surprise, but still haven't decided when to tell them. We have a big trip upcoming in March. We might wait until we get back from that one before we tell them about the cruise. We have to pull them out of school a day and a half before the end of the school year for this cruise, since the school calendar is a week different than last year. The prices went up so much that we decided to keep the original plan. Its not like the last couple days of school are very productive anyway for this age of kids.

Hey 150 days. Woo Hoo!! Here's a pic to celebrate. (a scarey confession: DW and I are studying the ol' finances. With 2 in college, we're having to discuss the possibility of putting this off a year. agony... but we're going to keep planning and hoping. Of course have to decide within next 2 months...)

we haven't told our kids yet either. we will have an 8yo girl and a 10 yo boy. we will also be pulling them out a day or so early to make the cruise (for the same cost cutting reason as a pp, it really jumped on the next date avail for the EC).

we did a kids facebook page on our last cruise where the kids (who were mostly using their parent's account) could chat. it was private and it seemed to work well. mine were too young to participate then and i'm not sure yet if they will be able to this year or not. we don't do email or fb or much of anything internet w/ them yet, other than the math home work they get each week, lol!

Hi fellow cruisers,
We will be on the FANTASY with you May 19. I see there has already been a lot of posts made by the group. Can someone please direct me to the DIS group sign up location. Is there a spreadsheet or web site where we can find out what plans the DIS group is making? I've seen some FE discussion...any other plans in the works?
Thanks for getting us started. :surfweb:

First let me tell you that my prayer for you has already been sent up. I want to hear what is up! We really want good news for this last week and for next year too!

garRy
merry Christmas to our dis group, I have not met any of you yet but cant wait! May we all be blessed this year and next. May we get the jobs we want and need, may we stay and or get healthy. May we have strength to get back up when we get knocked down. May we remember to watch our children with the joy in their eyes and find away to let a little of that joy to overtake us so that we can enjoy the simpler things in life! Merry Christmas and happy new year!:littleangel:
