Fantasy 7-Night Western Caribbean Cruise 8/2/14 - 8/9/14

:yay: Hello from California
It is time to add some West Coast to the festivities, my family and I will be joining you on this vacation!! We consist of Me (Teri), my Aunt, her fiancé, her son and her grandkids, girl 10 and boy 13 (a month away from 14). My poor hubbee has to stay at home because the two of us have a 14 day cruise planned in October and there is only so much vacation time available. I have been on 20+ cruises but this is my 2nd Disney. (Unless, I do the reposition in May, mmmmm) My DH and I did a reposition last year from Vancouver to Los Angeles on the Wonder, and OMGeeee, WE LOVED it. We don't have kids, but we turn into big ones ourselves. It is the first cruise for the rest of the family (except Aunt, she went twice to Alaska with us)

I am really excited about the FE, sounds fun. I will add our information when I get the colors and characters from my Aunt. :cool1:

Hi Teri,
I want to do that west coast repositioning cruise someday! Glad to have you along, you can tell me all about it!

:wave2: Hi
Thank you for the welcome.

So, I thought I would tell you a little more about myself, just in case anybody is writing a book and doesn't want to leave my chapter out. :rotfl2: I am a California girl, but not the beach crazed, health nut type of person that some think are in California. I live about 20 minutes from Disneyland and I like to say that I was raised there, LOL I am married for 26 years and have 2 furkids. My DH and I LOVE to cruise. As I mentioned before this will be my 2nd Disney Cruise, if the Big Red Boat counts, then it is my 3rd. We don't go to Disneyland as much as we used to, but when we do go the kid in me comes out. On our Disney cruise I had Mickey Ears for each day and never left my room without them on my head. Even in San Francisco, I wore my ears!!!

My Aunt is taking her Grandkids on this vacation, as of today, it is a surprise. Her Son (their Uncle) will be there too. Along with her fiancé. We are flying to Orlando on Monday and will be enjoying the parks for 4 days. All of them have never been there, my husband and I were there in 1989. By the time we get on the cruise, I will be exhausted and will be looking forward to some time relaxing and watching the world go by. Of course, I will be found at most Trivia games. I will be on a scooter, so watch out!!

I won't clog up anymore space for now. :mickeyjum

As of today, January 24th, we are currently at 13 cabins. In case I lose track, everyone kindly help me to notice as we approach our initial goal of 20 cabins. I'm pretty sure we are going to need a second list. . .

Thanks for keeping us organized! I'm sure you are right about the second list.

Hi you t-shirt experts,
How did you go about getting your family t-shirts made? Order them somewhere or DIY?
Same question about those cute door decorations.

Same question about those cute door decorations.

We had a family member design them who does graphic design professionally and then we found a silk screen t-shirt company to make them for us:thumbsup2

As for the door decorations. We made our own but others have had them made be people who have threads on the DIS boards.

I agree about the list, I definitely think it is a good idea to keep the numbers manageable.

As for the shirts and door decorations I made everything myself. I made door magnets using designs I created in Photoshop and printed on blank magnet paper I got at Office Max. I used Amy's Designs (highly recommended transfer sheets) to print out my designs I made in Photoshop. I used my simple inkjet printer for both of these. Then I ironed on the transfers to shirts I bought at jiffyshirts.com. If you aren't a designer, there is a creative board here at the DIS that makes designs for fellow Disney lovers. Check them out.

:cool1:CARABLE....I just wanted to tell you that I read your post about your trip last year. It was very enjoyable. You have inspired me with t-shirt making and I find myself spending hours looking at all of the possibilities. Are you doing the FE?? I looked at the FE list, and as an FYI, there is more on the form to complete if you scroll to the left. (I looked at it first to see if you were doing the FE) Your kids will enjoy all of the Meet and Greet Character sessions that are available throughout the cruise, I know that I did!!!

Thanks Teri, I didn't even notice all of that. Now I realized I can't find my pile of AAA stuff with our cabin number and such. I'm also hoping we truly are a Main seating. My crew sleeps early and will never make it through a late dinner time.

Thanks for reading my report...I had fun doing it. Probably won't have time to do a report for this trip before school begins again, but we'll see. If you have any questions about the t-shirts, let me know. Happy to help.

Thanks for the t-shirt tips! I found some designs I like from the dis-designers.

Its fun to have all these things to do while we wait!

I took your advice Joe - we are doing Disney transport, since are going to spend a couple days at the World in one of the Art of Animation family suites.
I do think it will be easier. ::yes::

I have been out of the loop for a bit. This will be our 20th cruise with DCL. We don't know what excursions we will get to as my daughter, 17, just had ACL/MCL surgery and we are unsure what she will be able to do. I will say we were on for NYE and they spoiled her and we had a great time.

My bday is the day we embark and my mom's is on the 7th. Since my dd can't do Palo yet we will do brunch.

When we sail on this cruise it will be out 5th on the fantasy, so if you have any questions please ask.

I just asked to join the FB group and signed up for the FE

Forgive my blatant envy! Wow! This is our 5th cruise and first on the "big" ships, so we're excited!

Somewhere on the dis, I read a post where the OP was complaining about being to tired to journal in the evenings. Another poster chimed in to suggest using a smart phone to do a video journal. You could simply do a quick: "today is August 2, we got on board, ate at Cabanas, hung out by the pools, enjoyed the dis group meet, had first dinner at ______, skipped the welcome aboard show and hung out in O'Gill's." Which would take all of 30 seconds to record, and might not have too many details, but might be better than nothing.

I've Never been good at journaling, but I want to try this idea. I _think_ I could do it.

Hi everyone! Just booked this cruise with our MIL this afternoon! Can't wait! When we were leaving AAA, my DH whispered to me, "Please don't drive me crazy with the cruise stuff!" LOL he knows how excited I get! So I'll just come here to babble about stuff.

This will be our 2nd cruise EVER! We are going to opt out of the FEs, though. Sorry!

Oh! 189 days to go!!!

Hi and Welcome!

:yay: :welcome: to the fun. This group is already having fun and we aren't on the ship yet, Fantasy....watch out...We are coming!!!

Mr. JOE of "my4phillygirls", I am a little sad :( that you didn't welcome me to the group. Is it because I am from California?? sniff, sniff :rotfl2: LOL, just kidding. I know that you love me anyway!!! :rotfl2:

I am sooooooo excited  about the FE's. I found one on Etsy that I want to purchase. Oh, and the ideas for stuff, well my mind is active at that. I seem to be up till 4am or so pondering  what I want to do. I am still looking for some ideas, so if anyone wants to share things that they have gotten in the past, this FE newbie would appreciate it.
