Fantasy- 7 night Western- August 4, 2012

Well I can now say this cruise feels very real. I just got done with our on line check in.

I booked our excursions at midnight. I was happy that I could get everything that I wanted. I only saw 2 things sold out Jungle Beach and CM18 Temascal. Sorry I forget which port these were in.

We are doing Sea Trek Helmet Dive in Grand Cayman
Chacchoben Mayan Ruins- Adult only in Costa Maya
Secret River in Cozumel
I was very excited to get a Palo Brunch. I couldn't get one for our June Cruise. I also got a Palo tea. Confused because it didn't have a dollar amount beside it. I am skipping Palo dinner because I want to eat in the main dining rooms and don't want to miss anything. I could have gotten a Remy reservation but I decided to skip it because I don't think DH will want to travel with a suit.

I was able to get the first port of arrival showing on my screen which was 11:00. I don't know if that means this is truly the earliest time or if this is what is now left. Did anyone get a earlier time? Anyone know if we can still check in earlier than that at the airport. We are staying over night at the airport.

I hope this makes sense. I am very tired. Back to bed.
I hope that everyone gets what they want when you book
Vicki

We are also doing the Chacchoben Mayan Ruins excursion, but we are not doing the adult-only excursion because DD will be just 17.

We are also staying at the Hyatt-MCO. We like it because it is so easy. We usually check-in right when DCL opens at (7 am), then we are on the first bus out with boarding pass #2 in hand. I never have been told that it is not my arrival time. It just always worked out.

DH called DCL for me this morning and was told that The Secret River is sold out. No idea why it isn't actually showing up that way.

Missed out on this excursion by a lousy 7 minutes of oversleeping!!

:cool1::cool1: I am so happy that you had a successful night! Your excursions sounds fun and you have a great variety! I think that 11 is the earliest port arrival! YAY for you!

Congrats! Planning is such an exciting time. What did you get? I am so excited for everybody, who is booking online this weekend.

We got the fishing excursion at Castaway Cay. This was the one that we REALLY wanted. This is going to be DH's father's day gift.:banana::banana: He is so hard to surprise and he will be thrilled with this excursion. We all love to fish!

We also got Palo Dinner for the day and time we wanted and even a Palo Brunch.

I am so sorry that it is sold out. Please don't be too hard on yourself! It is very likely that the excursion sold out prior to last night.

Have you thought of looking into doing it on your own? I bet that there are companies that offer that excursion outside of the cruise ships. When we dive, we don't use the cruise excursions. Maybe that would work out for you.

Good luck! I hope that you can figure out a way to do what you'd like.:goodvibes

Seems like we all got pretty much what we wanted. :)We were able to get Palo brunch, Remy dinner and 1 port adventure all at midnight . We then went to bed and when we got up at 10:30 we were able to get an 11 o'clock port arrival time. Talk about some pixie dustpixiedust: After booking everything last night it seems so real. Hope everyone has a great week:thumbsup2

That's good to know that you can check in at 7 am. I don't think I will make it quite that early. I was thinking 9 ish

I am sorry that you couldn't get the Secret River. My TA said that they sometimes hold spots to sell on the ship. You may want to check with guest services when you board.

Ok, I am now rethinking Remy. DH said that he could travel with a suit. Has anyone eaten in Remy's on the Dream? What are your thoughts on it? Is it really worth 75 pp. That seems steep to me when wine is additional. I just checked and there is plenty of time slots showing on each day. Any idea on which would be a good day to pick. I don't want to miss any special menus in the MDR. Or maybe it would be better to wait til we are on board and know the MDR rotation. Decisions, decisions

Any suggestions?

Hi everyone, just about to email the updated FE list to those people I have emails for.

Currently on the FE we have the following families:

familytravel

karriemouse
Sunshineminnie
IceSk8ersMom
WhenUWishUponA5tar
stacyk9
Nancydisney
sthissell

A total of 12 staterooms and 38 people. :cheer2:

If I've missed anyone out or anyone else wants to join please let me know!

Well done to everyone who has booked the excursions they wanted!!!!

AStamm - sorry about the Secret River but keep trying, including going to Port Adventures as soon as you get on the ship as people do cancel even at that stage.

Never to old - we've not done Remy as I just can't bring myself to spend that amount of money (plus wine) and miss out on the main dining room and time with the girls. Maybe one day when we cruise alone and money is no object! :wizard:

It's really weird now that we have everything booked. I really don't know what to do other than dream........

Thanks for the list Karen, guess I'll get busy. Two more days and I am paid in full :cool1: Time is ticking down fellow cruisers. I can't wait, this is my first cruise and I am totally lost about alot of stuff, but I am so stoked to learn. reading everyones posts about what they have already booked so far as excursions I'm not sure we will be able to get any we want, but thats ok I live with it as long as I am on my dream cruise.

REally, there is a lot left. If you want, you can PM me and I'd be happy to check the current availability for you!

And I totally agree.... even if you don't get what you want, it will still be an amazing cruise!

Hi Cruisers!

We'll be sailing with you on August 4th- we booked it onboard last year when we sailed to Alaska in July and I actually started a thread for it as soon as we got back but I don't think it became a sticky...couldn't find it when I came to check anyway! Decided not to start posting until we paid up in full and were definitely going as we have a busy Summer ahead-moving house in June and my husbands job involves a lot of travel, often at short notice, and our vacation plans tend to get moved around a lot....Well its all paid for now so we're definitely going and I can start planning!

For the first time ever (and this is our fourth cruise) I got to log on at 5am (midnight for you guys) and the site didn't crash...I got to book a Palo brunch for the first sea day and a Palo dinner for the last sea day and even though I had to wait 3 hrs before being able to check in online I got my pick of port arrival times. 11 and 11.30 were still available but since I'm not in a rush to get onboard to book Palo I opted for 12.00 so we have a little more time to get to Port Canaveral. We're spending a few days in WDW first.

I just booked one excursion as I really haven't researched them and we did so much on our last 2 cruises (7 day Alaska and 11 day Med Cruise the year before) that we just want to chill on this one and enjoy the new ship. May book more as the Summer goes on but am just pleased to have the Cruise to look forward to at this stage.
Would also like to join the FE as we had so much fun doing it last year.

Counting down the days! :yay::yay:::yay:

Siobhan.

Sorry to say (but totally excited about it) that DS and I won't be on the ship with everyone. Instead, DH is joining us on the June 9th sailing :cool1:. We got a too-good-to-pass-up offer from DVC tonight and jumped on it since we were already going to be in WDW in June and could make it work.

So...the bad news is I lost out on main dining and the Palo tea, but the good news is DH gets to join us, we're now in a cat. 4A (instead of 9D), it's costing $2.14 LESS than what it would have for just DS and I, AND...I got the Secret River excursion.

Sorry to see you go! But I don't blame you for taking that great deal. My friend is a member and was trying to convince me to go with her. I just hated to spoil the experience I would have with my DH, so I think I am passing. I am happy to hear that you got the Secret River excursion. Maybe you could post here what you thought of it.

:welcome: So happy to have you!

Congrats on Palo, port arrival and excursion!

I think that chillin sounds like a great idea too! We plan on doing a lot of that as well.

YAY for the FE! I think that will be a lot of fun!

Oh WOW! I am sooooo excited for you! How wonderful that you can all go together and what a FABULOUS DEAL! I am especially happy that you got the excursion you wanted. REally, I think that the tradeoff for dining and tea is a good one! I actually prefer late dinning.

Have a great time on your cruise and have fun spending the $2.14! :rotfl2:

I just bought all the supplies I need for a dry run at making one of the FE gifts I have in mind for the kids on the trip. I just hope it turns out as good as the pictures I've seen of it on Pinterest. I'll give you all one hint: some of the supplies came from the hardware store. Hmmmmm. ;)
