Fantasy- 7 night Western- August 4, 2012

She would love to get to know someone ahead of time.

Hi -

I didn't see an PM's hit my box, so I thought I'd put out another request for a shipmate for my DD9 that she could get to know before we sail! She's gets along well with girls or boys, so either would be great!

We'd like to get a few Skype calls in during our wait so the kids could get to know each other.

Let us know!

Thanks.

Ben, Jenny, and Lily

Hi there -- kind of late to the party, but not too late! We just booked the 8/4 cruise and have spent all weekend talking about it. I will be going with my 3 DD 15, 13, and 9. The 15 year old will be turning 16 on the last day -- 8/11. I know that we need to get on the ball with shore excursions, can I get some recommendations? So far the requests have been for snorkeling and for swimming with the dolphins.

BTW - sorry for the newbie question - but what is a FE??

So excited!!!

My DD is 14 - right in between your oldest two. If they would like to chat before the cruise, let me know. It helps to break the ice the first day in the club if they have someone to connect with. PM me or they can search for her directly. Her name on the Disboards is dopeylvr.

I started this thread last year but have not kept up with it very well.....sorry:guilty: I changed to VGT rooms last week so now I get to nervously wait for my room assignments. We are also staying the night before at the new Art of Animation hotel. I am on the fence about joining the FE group. This is my first cruise ever and I'm wondering if the FE stuff might overwhelm me....

I have sent a couple of private messages to those of you who were looking for some friends for your children to meet before the cruise.
I have 4 kids who keep each entertained but I bet they would love to meet some new friends.

I have a 17 year old daughter named Amanda. She is very outgoing. She is a "drama kid" who preforms in a lot of plays and is Vice-President of her schools Drama Club. She loves the Hunger Games, Baseball, and works at Justice for Girls.

I have a 12 year old son named Derian. He loves on-line gaming. He plays Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, and Halo. He is a straight A student (but would rather play games than go to school...hahaha.)

I have a 9 year old daughter named Nikki. She voted "Friendliest" in her class. She loves the Food Network, American Idol (Phillip was her favorite,) and listening to her Ipod (all sorts of music- Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift, Adele, Adam Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Jason Mraz, Florence and the Machine to name a few.)

I have a 7 year old son named Matthew. He was voted most likely to be President. He loves to draw and read. He likes Monkeyquest, Spongebob, Spiderman and has a very active imagination. He loves Spy stuff and solving mysteries.

Welcome to the boards! Celebrating your anniversary at the Sail Away Party sounds like fun.

Hello Everyone.. I have today off so I am at home just doing :laundy: and counting the days until our fabulous cruise. Hubby is geting really excited as well as I. DD acts like she isn't, but we know better. We still have a little more shopping to do and we should have it all taken care of. Does anyone else have alot of shopping left to do? We already booked parasailing on CC, DD really wanted this, so I think I am going to it. I must say though I have been:scared: of heights, I am trying to work through some of it. We will just have to see.

I have booked the parasailing excursion as well (at 10am.) I'm looking forward to it, never parasailed before.

I think most of my shopping is done. Just a few more items for FE gifts and we should be good.

No parasailing here. Terrified of heights. Probably just going to take it easy on the beach that day since we have excursions booked for two of the other port days.

Just checking in...
I cannot believe that we are under the two month mark. Time is flying. DD just got back from Oregon. She spent a week with her grandparents. Three more day of school, but summer school starts next week. The best part of working summer is the the four day work week.

Take care and talk to you soon.

Hi all! It's been forever since I've been on the boards! I've been gone for about three weeks and am finally feeling like I'm getting back into a routine. (I tend to "unplug" when I'm with the kiddos or traveling.) :good vibes

We started the summer out camping at the lake, then off to our whirlwind tour with my son's orchestra (Joplin, Mempis and Nashville), and then DD and I spent a week in the Keys with some friends. I have to tell you, that made us SOOOOO excited for the cruise! I forgot how beautiful the water is and the diving was great!

I tried to catch up on the tread, but sorry if I forgot anyone.:confused3

First of all, a big :welcome: to those that have recently joined us! We are going to have sooooo much fun! :cool1:

One more week and I'll be home from OSU for the summer!!!! :cool1:

Heres hoping everyone has a spectacular Memorial Day weekend!!

-Matt

I'm glad you are back home Matt. I hope that you are enjoying college!:goodvibes

After many hours of discussion, my DH & I have decided to switch to this cruise from the Eastern the following week. Our DD will be starting high school in the fall. She is a pretty good field hockey player & would miss the first 3 & most important days of field hockey practice for the high school team. Instead of jeopardizing her chances, we decided to move our cruise up a week. Since I haven't had time to read the whole thread yet, can someone give me a brief summary? I promise I'll catch up this weekend!

Debbie

Glad to have you! I understand about high school sports. The kids need every advantage they can get in this competitive world. What year is she?

I'm not sure if anyone answered you or not about what an FE is. :confused3 If no one has, I'll do my best. An FE is a gift exchange or secret santa kind of thing that families do on a Disney cruise. FE stands for fish extender which is where you hang your bag or pockets from to collect the gifts. Some families purchase little things, some make their gifts. You can give one per cabin or per person or whatever you would like. You can deliver one day or everyday. It's totally up to you! We'd love it if you would join! It will be fun!

Good luck with the VGT!pixiedust:

Oh you should join the FE! Just keep it simple and have fun! You don't have to go crazy with it. Hang a canvas bag, just do one gift per cabin....... We'd love to have you!

Welcome to the cruise and to the boards! What an amazing way to celebrate your 13th anniversary! Congrats!

I think we are pretty good as far as shopping goes. I really just need to get going on the FE gifts, but am looking forward to it. I wanted to get all of my big house projects done before I started on these. (Kind of a treat to myself for getting my projects done.) I have found that I am beginning to pack much lighter for trips as I usually bring half of the stuff home unworn, so we will be keeping shopping to just a few special things.

Oh, I hope you decide on the parasailing! It will be amazing!

Less then two months? That just doesn't seem real! I am sooooo excited! :cool1::yay::cheer2:

Have a fun summer!

A long time ago, someone mentioned having someone create a cruise logo for our group. Does anyone know if we have one?

Thanks!:goodvibes

SunshineMinnie, this is the other half of Magical7 - how do we join a FE? Also do you know anything about the gifts offered thru DisBoards? Looking forward to our cruise and celebrating 13 years with my lovely wife during the sail away!

A great big :welcome: to the other half!

I don't know anything about the gifts through Disboards, but if you are interested in joining the FE (YAY! :cool1:) then you just need to send a PM to Karriemouse with your Dis name, real names, ages of children and cabin number (if you know it yet) and everyone's favorite Disney Character. I do think that you need a few more posts before you can PM though......

Happy posting!

Thanks SunshineMinnie, I'll keep checking on the gifts.

Either my wife or I will send a PM to KarrieMouse (once we can).

Thanks & looking forward to our trip :)
