Just returned a few hours ago from a fantastic weekend at the BCVs. (Dec 10 - 14)
We arrived late on Wed night (nearly midnight due to delayed flights). The first night was spent in our friend's studio. He ended up in room 228, a handicapped unit with NO tub. But, the upside of this unit is that it has an ENORMOUS balcony overlooking the pool. He didn't care about the lack of tub or the layout of the unit and due to the fact that we were all exhausted, we crashed.
The next morning DH and I were due to move into our own BCVs studio. Due to an indiscretion the previous day at lunch, (BAD choice on my part!) I was feeling lousy and all I wanted was a room of my own and a hot bath ASAP. DH went down to the desk and told them I wasn't feeling well and we would take the first available room. All they had were 2 at that time (9:00 a.m.) a smoking studio and a handicapped studio. I was so willing to just get a room that I told him to take the handicapped unit. Our room was 525, just steps off the elevator. It overlooked the Beach Club and lots of foilage. The upside of this unit was that even though it was handicapped it DID have TUB!!! YES!!!!
We found both rooms to be ant free, clean, neat and in good repair. We didn't see any trash in the halls on either floor. We really enjoyed our time on our friend's balcony, having our breakfast there every morning.
We had fantastic weather Thurs. Fri. and Saturday.
We spent Thursday afternoon at DD shopping (after a long morning nap) until we dropped. We hooked up with friends staying at the cabins at FW. Thursday night had us at Ohana's celebrating Christmas birthdays! Friday we went to Epcot for lunch and then to DD to see The Haunted Mansion. It was then back to EPCOT to see the CP. Once again, amazing show. We drove over to the MK then for the MVMCP. The weather couldn't have been any better. The event was sold out and it was crowded with waits of 30 minutes at Buzz at about 8:30. We watched a few shows and then headed over to the castle area to see WISHES. WOW WOW WOW!!!!! Incredible show.
We then did the TTA, and grabbed a spot for the late MVMCP. Again, this was fantastic as usual. We left the park at midnight.
Saturday we rested up and worked on surprising our very good friend by decorating his room for Christmas and running to PUBLIX to pick up a turkey dinner, which we cooked at enjoyed at FW. It was back to his room to exchange gifts. (He was surprised by his LEG LAMP ala "A Christmas Story".
We left for the airport this morning in the pouring rain and got home to see snow on the ground.
Reality is tomorrow.... we go back to work, but only for a week and then we are off for 2 weeks!!! Waa HOOOOO!!!
Believe it or not, I just booked my airfare for Easter on SWA a few minutes ago and I do need to update my countdown clock for my next trip "home" in Feb to do the Outback 12k!!!
No gator sightings this trip, but the decorations more than made up for it.
So any of you going to the BCVs in the near future, rest assured we had a great unit, it was well maintained, very clean and bug free!!!
Happy Holidays everyone!!!
