FANTASTIC packing tip!

So I was packing my suitcase for Disney (leave on Friday, but go home from school Wednesday) and I was looking for my sunglasses. I decided to splurge and buy some nice designer shades with some Christmas money and a gift card. They were around $300! Anyways, I was saving them for the sunny weather and thought I'd pack them for my Florida/Disney trip (PROBABLY not bringing them to Disney b/c I always seem to lose my sunglasses there) ANYWAY- I looked all over my tiny bedroom and there was no sign of them. I have a pile of clothes on my floor because the closets here are so small, so I looked through the pile but still no sign. I start to panic and take all the clothes from my dresser, all the things from my desk, and throw them on my bed in hopes of finding my sunglasses. Still, NO sign! I begin to sob and my roommate says to me, "Check your suitcase, maybe you already packed them?" To which I roll my eyes and think what a silly idea THAT would be, I mean I JUST started packing, wouldn't I remember packing them?! So whatever, I open my bag and what do ya know?!?! THE SUNGLASSES ARE IN THERE!! So DISer's, I ask that if you have ever lost something you are looking for to pack in your suitcase, CHECK IN YOUR SUITCASE BEFORE YOU TEAR APART THE HOUSE!! Ok, I'm done.

I went through the same thing-only it was a dollar store pop up hamper. I knew that I had one and we used it on our trip to the beach last year and afer I looked in the "obvious" places, I decided to try our suitcases and there it was!!! Glad you found your glasses.

LOL Thanks, or how about when you look for the cell phone but it's already in your pocket, or look for your sunglasses and they are ON YOUR HEAD!! Haha

I have a better one...I was looking ALL OVER for my cell...starting to freak out!!! WELL, I was on it!!! My mom on the other end nearly peed her pants LOL!

My husband bought me a really nice digital camera just for one of our WDW tirps. I put it somewhere safe where I would not forget it and guess what...I got to WDW and realized it was still at home.

Doesn't it always seem true, you put it "some where safe" and it gets lost. I have told my self never to put anything in a safe place, Ill never see it again.LOL

we have a saying around my house...if you put something up so you will know where it is....you will never remember where you put it. Happens all the time. Im still looking for that twenty bucks I hid from the kids.

I have called my cell phone to find my purse in my house
Somehow I leave my purse whne things are going on in the house with the kids. My cell phone is always in it. Then a few hours later, I forgot where I dropped my purse (dork brown color).

I guess my next purse should be another color so I can find it

I used to always lose my keys so one Christmas my sister bought me one of those keychains that whistles when you make a noise. Guess what? I lost THAT before Christmas day was over.

This is exactly why I have a check list! As the things go into the luggage, I check them off. I also have listed things like "turn down thermostat," "lock garage door," etc.
