Hi I wondering if Fantasmic is to scary for a 5 and 2 year old? I wanted to know before I try for the Perferred seating. Is this something we should skip or would they enjoy it? :confused3

There are parts of it that are scary, not unlike the Disney movies. All the villians are in it. But in the end Mickey comes out the hero, all the Princesses and their beloved sail by on boats with beautiful music and beautiful lights. It is truly amazing. The first time we went my DD was only five and she was afraid of the villian parts with the loud music. You could prepare your children ahead of time, remind them that Mickey is strong and will always prevail!!!

It depends on the child. It can be quite intense but it's a wonderful amazing show.

I've taken DDs ages 1 & 4, 2 & 5, 4 & 7, and 5 & 8 and my youngest was afraid when she was one and a little nervous at 2 but she did fine. Now they love it and it's considered a highlight of the trip.

I say give it a try unless you think your kids won't like darkness, loud noise, villians on a screen and on the mountain and a tiny bit of fireworks. But the good outweighs the bad, IMHO.

I have an autistic son who scares easily and on our first visit when he was 7, we chose to sit on the back row near an exit just in case he had a meltdown. I was able to hold him and comfort him during the scary parts, and he made it through fine, just a little anxious.Overall he liked it. Try sitting near the back if you can for the first time, then you can always try for a better seat another time if they handle it OK.

This is one of our dd's favorite shows. She's seen it every year (sometimes more than once a year!) since she was 1 1/2. She's never been afraid, and loves it every time she sees it, especially when Mickey comes out the hero in the end. :wizard:

Scary in the sense that it's frightening? No. Is it scary in that it has loud noises that may scare children? Yes.

I took my twins to see Fantasmic at WDW when they were only 1 yr. old and they had no problem with the noise. Then, they saw it at DL when they were 4. They had a little problem with the noise and the villain parts, but not enough of a problem that putting my arm around them couldn't fix. No crying or anything. I say give it a try. Like someone else suggested, either sit near the back if you are afraid you might have to leave or get an aisle seat closer up. Don't sit too close, though. Being more removed from the action might make it easier to take if they get scared.

Last year we took our ds 6 and dd just turned 1 to Fantasmic and they both loved it.....one of the things they are looking forward to doing again. IMO it is the best show we saw!
