We'll be there first week of May and have PS for Hollywood and Vine at 5:40 PM. Fantasmic doesn't begin until 9. How does it work? I assume dinner would be an hour so are we free to roam park right up until 9 and then just enter with our pass and still get a good seat or are we stuck from after dinner until showtime waiting whether in line or in our seats? Thanks for your help.

I would love to know how this works as well. We have gone several times and have never seen this.

I just booked H & V with the Fantasmic seating for May 1st at 5:40. The CM told me that I would have time to enjoy the park between my dinner and the show. She also said that it is recommended to show up 1/2 hour before the show. I took this to mean that I could walk around, maybe do a ride or two, then off to Fantasmic at 8:00 ( it is at 8:30 on May 1st.)

We did the fantasmic dinner package. I am really glad we did.

You just check in for dinner, eat, than they give a ticket. When you are ready to go in, you need to enter by Oscars(store/stroller rental place) You can go do whatver until about a half hour before. There is a reserved area, however not a reserved seat. So it is up to you how early you want to arrive. We arrived 1/2 hour before, but it was a rainy day, the rain stopped for Fantasmic.

It is really an awesome show.

Has anyone ever did this without the dinner package?

We've always done the dinner package, but from what I understand, it's recommended to get in line *90 minutes* before showtime if you don't do the dinner package. (That's why we always do the dinner package!)

We saw Fantasmic! last June without the dinner package and we waited 2 hours--we had excellent seats in the Mickey section. We knew we would have to line up early so it wasn't really a big deal to us. After some of the reviews I have read I am not sure I would want to do the dinner package. Let me know how it goes:D

i have done Fantasmic several times and all without the dinner package. each time i have gotten there about 60 minutes before the show and had no problem getting a great seat.

THIS SHOW IS THE BEST!!
It is my absolute favorite at Disney.

We've only done the dinner package too. This year I'm gonna do it without - I want to get a better seat. Don't get me wrong, the seats are fine, but I want to try something else!!;)

HINT: When you first enter MGM look for Oscar's on the right hand side past the turnstiles - this way you'll know where it is in advance of trying to find it at 8:30.
