Fantasmic!!

If you want front and center seating, show up at least 60 minutes before the showing. Buy a Fantasmic dinner package and guarantee seats up to 30 minutes before showtime but they are off to the side (or at least used to be). If there are two showings the second one is usually the least crowded.

Personally, we show up about 5 minutes before start, stand in the back center and have a great view. :thumbsup2

We love the Fantasmic Dinner Package. One year we went, people were lined up TWO hours early, and the line was all the way out to the street where the Fantasmic entrance is. We got into the line, but we were only a short way in when we heard it was standing room only, and we had hardly moved. We knew we weren't getting to see it. So, we left the line and went back the next year using the dinner package. Even though we were off to the side, we could see everything perfectly b/c everything comes over that way. It was incredible. We are going back with the package again. If you have the dining plan, it is only 1 dining entitlement to eat at Hollywood and Vine or Mama Melrose, or 2 for Brown Derby (the menu looks gross to me). We ate at H&V last year and are doing Mama Melrose this year.

did the dinner package last summer. With a couple of young, impatient kids, it worked great. We entered the line about 35 minutes before show time. The reserved area was maybe 25% full when we git in.

We ate Mama Melrose and it was about $36 fir an adult. That is for drink, appy, entree and dessert.

All other tips I had have been given above... so I'll just say:

DON'T MISS IT! :worship:

For those who do not wish to buy a package to see a "free show", yes, you can go earlier. Bring snacks, games, anything to keep kids occupied. Have fun with it. Grab a seat, relax and enjoy. We've used this valuable time to have children write down and record what they liked best so far about their trip. When the show ends, wait a few minutes until the thundering herds have scrambled out, then calmly exit the area.

Fantasmic dinner package! I wouldn't want to spend up to two hours of park time waiting for Fantasmic. With the dinner package...we walk right up 15 minutes before the show. It is great!

We've also booked the Fantasmic package for this trip!!
Four family trips and we've missed it every time so far! The issue is that we plan to see it, but by the end of the day we're hot and tired and just not up to standing in line for over an hour to get seats so we end up skipping it.
We almost made it last year and the worst thunder storm rolled in just as it was time to line up and they cancelled it.
So, fingers are crossed that this all works out and we finally get to see it!!

We are doing F! package this trip too....only a little over 3 months until I can make ADR's. Also, I believe they have begun showing F! every night...this should greatly reduce the line issues, I would imagine.

I've seen the show several times over the past 10 years. You can read about the "plot" of the show or what characters you'll see on wikipedia if you're interested or think you need to prepare young children.

I brought my DS8 to the early show (8:30 p.m) of Fantasmic! this week. I brought his video game to keep him busy while we waited for the show to start but of course it wasn't charged so that wasn't helpful. People were already lined up waiting to get in at 6:45 p.m. The seating area opens at 7:00 p.m. for the 8:30 p.m. show. I like sitting in the front row so I don't mind going early (but I also live 10 miles from the parks so I'm not in any great rush to squeeze everything in on my visit.) We bought some snacks popcorn:: and just relaxed and watched the stadium fill up -- by the time the show started, the stadium was completely full.

If you have a rental stroller, you'll be asked to remove all personal items before parking the stroller.

You're seated one section at a time, so if you don't like where you're being asked to sit, just wait for the next section to be seated. You can buy snacks like pretzels, cotton candy, drinks, beer from both the refreshment stands and also vendors walking around. There's also a lot of light up toys that are very popular. It was cold night and the blankets were a big seller. The first 4-5 rows can get wet from the water fountain spray during the show so sit farther back if you don't want to get wet (you don't get soaked like Sea World's Shamu show.) There's also fire used in the show and you can feel the heat so if it's a really hot night, you might want to sit further back.

If you are meeting up with people in your group and have cell phones, you can let them know to meet you at a certain character's flag (mickey mouse is center seating for example.) Each section of the seating has it's own flag -- be sure to look at this when you leave your section for refreshments or restrooms.

There are restrooms located at the top of the hill in the stadium.

There is a fun pre-show about 1/2 hour before the show starts -- two cast members did audience interaction with songs, trivia games, and music.

There's a direct path exit to the front of the path so ask or look for that if you want to leave the park directly after the show ends.

Be aware that the show can be cancelled if there's inclement weather.

It seemed like most of the people that had the dining plan used general seating because the reserved seating area never looked that full. It's probably because the reserved dining plan seating area is at the very top of the stadium.

Enjoy the show!
