Fantasmic Thread!

Unfortunately, we asked both at the check in table and at the cashier, and both said the first show was “sold out” for our evening. We were disappointed because it had been so hot, and we were not going to make it until the second show. I attempted to change our reservation at RDZ to a lunch Fantasmic, but was not successful (which would have given us the first show, I think). We went to the check in area of the first show, and they said we could sit in the “stand by” area, which was just to the left (as you face the show) of the reserved area (this “stand by” area was roped off, so I don’t know what the area was). It was a decent view, a little blocked by a tree and by the awning for the loading area for the boats. But is was better than staying out until 10:30pm!
 
Add Halloween to the nights for which you can't (yet) make Fantasmic! dining package reservations.

Yeah, Im getting a bit frustrated. I have been checking about 20x a day since my 60 day mark which is almost two weeks ago now. Other folks have mentioned PTN is also not showing up as expected on the calendar so Im trying to be hopeful and wait out the updates.
 

Some dining packages don't allow you to modify down. We had a PTN dining package reserved for three but one person couldn't make it that day. There was no option to modify or edit the reservation - only to cancel. I visit the park regularly and went to both Plaza Inn and City Hall to try to cancel the extra person in advance. Both places told me to just let the hostess know when I checked in. I'm not telling you to do that. Just sharing my experience.

Here's a link that explains it. Note that it recommends you double check that your time is still available if you modify the number of guests:

That part is scary. Here's the exact wording:

You want to click on "Edit" to the right of your party size and then choose your new party number. Then choose an available time and continue through the reservation process.

That sure doesn't sound like a workable plan for a Fantasmic dining package, considering how quickly those reservation times fill up.

I entered a chat with a cast member, and she also recommended just telling the restaurant host the night of the reservation. So that's what I'll be doing.

As long as it isn't prepaid you should be fine to just tell them when you check in. I booked for 3 for the premium RBT Fantasmic and it was only 2 of us. There was no issues when I checked in.
