Fantasmic! Superthread - Or Everything You Need To Know About Fantasmic at Disneyland

We will be going to Disneyland in September and staying at the California Grand. What number do we call for Vacation Planning to have the make Fantasmic Dessert reservations for us? Do they still do that?

I used the (714) 300-PLAN (7526) to make the Fantasmic Dessert reservation. We did have to call at the 2 month mark since they require the credit card and won't process it via email.

We haven't done the dessert package before; will be trying it out this coming Thursday and I can't wait!!!!

They still do it and the number to call should be on your reservation somewhere.

The number on my reservation is for the Disney Vacation Club and they don't have a number to the Vacation Planning. So, again, if anyone has a number for that, please let me know.

Again, thanks to all of those who have responded.

I think the number is there. I just looked at my res for GCH last week and it had this under the Greetings section:

714-300-PLAN (7526)

I went from the fireworks to the second showing of Fantasmic last week. It was very easy to do, and if you see the fireworks from the Frontierland side of the hub, it's easy (we had a great view at the hub where the path to Adventureland intersects). In fact, the CMs will tell you exactly how to walk the easiest way to get to Fantasmic. We were one of the first ones at Fantasmic, so there is no question of getting a great view.

Also, they rope off the pathway right as it hits the hub, so the best place to stand is right in the middle of the pathway, and people started claiming their spots a little bit before they stretch the rope across. Excellent view, for both.

I promise I have read through this super thread and the link about the premium desert package thing - but what I’m stuck on is how far in advance to book it.

Some people seem to indicate 1 month, some say 6 weeks, and others say 2 months.

I've heard that sometimes if you try to book "too far" in advance (eg: before the official schedule is out) then they won’t book it because it’s not confirmed if, or when, its showing. :confused3

We're staying on site, and because we live in Australia was planning on getting the vacation planning team to book it in at 8 am pacific time - but really confused about when to call them to make this booking request?

Do I have to wait until the schedule is out or can I call earlier? Anyone got any advice time-frame wise? :)

I just booked this and you can book it 30 days in advance at 8 am! I called at 7:59 am and it didn't show up on the CM computer screen until 8am. Good luck!:cheer2:

I have never seen anyone on this forum say 6 weeks for F! and occasionally see someone say two months in error - which is always quickly corrected by others. So I am not sure where you are seeing confusing info on this. The info on this forum is very specific and consistent on this year after year.

With that, the one thing that is slightly confusing is that DLR talks about booking 30 days in advance for F!. And that is not correct. It is one month in advance.

I have done it twice myself. And the OP in this thread makes this clear.

Just to confirm Hydroguy's info, I just made F! Dessert reservations for 9/14 and could only book it yesterday 8/14.

I have PM'ed my fellow countryman, but just to confirm this is what Vacation Planning sent me, for those staying on-site:

Dear Dean,
You can call us before the 30 days, and we can take your credit card information and when it becomes 30 days prior we can purchase the tickets for you first thing in the morning. The tickets will then be waiting at the hotel for you when you check in. Please call our office at 714-300-7526 option 2.

I did this for a Sept 14 booking for 7 people and it worked a treat...see you there!

Thanks HydroGuy :)

Agreed, it was pretty clear on the original post - you have amazing threads that really have helped a ton! :worship:

I think I was just confused by hearing of people being able to use the VP team earlier than the one month mark so I don’t have to wake up in the middle of the night my time to call :(

(eg: tell Vacation Planning before the one month mark that you want a Fantasmic dessert reservation & they will make it on your behalf on the morning of the one month mark)

Basically was more about the pre-calling before the "allowed" one month date to get the Vacation Planning team to do it on your behalf; and how early I can contact that team.

Coulda sworn I'd read somewhere not to call the VP team too early (ie: before the schedules even out which is released about 6 weeks in advance) because they won’t be able to confirm / assist in making the booking when they don’t even know if it'll be on – which makes sense *laughs*

I guess I'll wait till schedules out and call the team to see if they can help - otherwise 2 am alarm it is *cringes*

Thanks anyway, and sorry for causing any concern by my confusion :guilty:

For everyone's info, when you do this, they will have your F! tickets for you at the hotel when you check-in. Saving you a trip to go run them down.

Hey Hydroguy,

Great thread... helped me a TON last year when we went during Thanksgiving.

I should have responded earlier when I still remembered the issue, but one thing that happened to us that maybe you can clarify in case someone else has same issues. We booked the Fantasmic Dessert Party seating, I showed up 7PM to get our seats and I was speaking to the CM's there about it. They asked me if I had checked in at the Guest Services to get my tickets (paid online in advance), but I hadn't done that, I just had a copy of my receipt. I believe they showed me a place on the e-mail where it instructed me to check in at GS first. I literally had to run to the front of the park, check in, then run back in order to be in line to get a good seat. So just a pointer to those booking it, check in at GS 1st thing when you get into the park to make sure you get your tickets. :)

I really can't decide what to do so can I ask a 'what would you do' question please?

We are going to the park for four days at the end of Sept. Thanks to advice on here we've changed one of the days to a saturday and it's the ONLY day that is showing the fireworks and Fantasmic! Saturday 28th September.

We are a party of two adults, no kids and we want to see both shows, and this is where I get stuck on what to do. So Please can you give me your advice/thoughts?

Option 1: We see the fireworks at 9:30, standing on the left of the hub when looking at the castle. Then dash through the quieter passageway to Fantasmic and try to get a good viewing spot for the second showing at 10:30. I'm short so standing can be problematic if I'm too far back.

Option 2: Pay for dessert package at the second showing of Fantasmic. Watch the 9:30 fireworks and then go to check-in for the dining as soon as that ends.

I know it's a personal choice but I'm not sure how the dessert package works in terms of the second show and not checking in til later? If you think we'd be fine dashing across then I'll save the $60 as we're already doing WOC dining and a tour. BUT if you guys think it's risky and that the dessert package method would work better please say so cause I'd rather pay $60 each than miss Fantasmic, which is my fave show. I know you can't make the decision for me but I'd appreciate advice and thoughts.

THANK YOU!
