OK, I will admit we are a little spoiled with the WDW Fantasmic seating living so many years in Florida. I know of the perfered seating at DL in front of the river by the HM with the beverage and deserts. What is the current cost of perfered? How do I book and how far in advance? Are there any other options to seating?

It was $59 a person when I looked into it before our trip earlier this month. It was just a bit too pricey for us, so I didn't go for it, so I don't have any input as to how far in advance you would need to make reservations. One of these years I am going to splurge and do it, though; it would be so swell to have reserved seats for my favorite Disneyland experience!

you need to make reservations 1 month in advance... for example... November 28 for December 28.

That is the only option for paid seating. Here is more info on the reservations: http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland-california/disneyland-fantasmic.htm. Note that the balcony seating option has been discontinued so only riverside is available now.

If you are spoiled by WDW's theater, then after seeing Fantasmic! at DL you will be spoiled by a better show and better setting on the Rivers of America.

If there are two showings on a given night, go to the second one if at all possible as the crowds which will be much less and it is possible to secure a decent seat 30 minutes in advance.

Also, if you have not been to DL recently you absolutely, positively must see the Remember Dreams Come True fireworks/laser/special effects show. It is a jaw dropper.

To all thanks for the info. Wish there were better and more seating options without paying an arm and a leg.
To HydroGuy between the two WDW and DL I do not think one is better than the other; just different. I like them both for different reasons: DL for the setting, Peter Pan, and the River Boat; WDW for the Hollywood Hills theater, the veiw of the stage, Pocahontas.
I think there is room to improve the seating options at DL however. I had to stand the last time at DL for Fantasmic and with my back and bad hips that wasn't easy. I only wish I was an Imagineer so I could make suggestions. Thanks again.

Sounds like you know what you are getting into at DLR. Hope it works out.
