Fantasmic is the end of the evening show at The Hollywood Studios, similar to the end of the evening fireworks at MK and Epcot. The show features Sorcerer Mickey fighting the evil Maleficent and has tons of characters, as well as water effects and some fireworks. A lot of people think it is the best show at Disney (including me). Where you are probably confusing it with a restaurant is that Disney offers a Fantasmic dinner package where you eat at one of 3 restaurants in HS (Mama Melrose's, Brown Derby, or Hollywood and Vine) and you get a priority seating area at Fantasmic. Many people think this is a good deal because you don't have to wait in the long line to get in (people often starting lining up 1 hour or so before the gates even open, which is I think 30 min to 1 hour before show time, depending on the time of year). However, they so still say you should be there about 45 minutes early and if it is crowded, they will start to let the general public sit in that area about 30 min before show time. Also, the dinner package area is on the sides, not in the middle. Anyway, if you do a search on here for Fantasmic Dinner package you will get tons of opinions either way. Hope that helps!

The package is a great way to make certain you will have a seat for Fantasmic without waiting in a crazy long line.

Our Fantasmic Package meal at Mama Melrose last spring was one of our favorite meals. The caprese salad was to die for!! MMMMM!

Oh, and you can use the dining plan, but it counts as a Signature Meal, so it's 2 credits per person.

It's only two DDP credits if you choose the package at Brown Derby. For Hollywood & Vine or Mama Melrose it is one credit.
