Fantasmic Pkg, Free Dining, DDE

I have the DDE card and was able to use it at Hollywood & Vine in January for the Fantasmic Pkg with no problem. When I went back in May I did the Fantasmic Pkg at Mama Melrose, but was unable to use my DDE card for it. Now I'm going back in Sept and will have the MYW Free Dining, but will be also carrying my DDE card. Since January, I've been reading where alot of people are still able to use the DDE and the MYW dining for the Fantasmic Pkg at Hollywood & Vine, but are being refused at both Mama Melrose and Brown Derby.

I made ADRs earlier this week for Hollywood & Vine. I had planned to just tell the waiter when we ordered that we had the free dining and if he let us use it fine, if not I would be prepared. However I really like the food better at Mama Melrose and if Hollywood & Vine is going to refuse the free dining I wonder if I might not just be better off rescheduling an ADR for Mama Melrose's using the free dining and taking our chances on getting good seats at Fantasmic? What do you think our chances would be of using the free dining at Mama Melrose and the waiter still giving us that little voucher to get into Fantasmic?

Not at all possible...they won't give you the voucher unless you have the Fantasmic Dinner Package booked. If you use your free dining, they will assume you dont' have the package.

so, if i read the op correctly, you can use the dining plan TS credits at H&V? hmm, if that's true, it's a much better option than getting to the theatre an hour or more before showtime and eating counter-service in our seats! LOL!

This isn't always the case. My parents ate at H&V in March and were given the vouchers even though they hadn't booked a package. The server explained that they had lots of extras for the day and were giving them out on a first come, first serve basis.

But to the OP... I asked a server at H&V on our June trip about using the DDE card with the FDP and was told that they had just been told not to allow guests to get the the FDP with any other offer. I have a feeling that you won't "get lucky" at H&V, so I'd book at whichever place you really want to eat it.
