Fantasmic Package Question

On our trip in 07’ we ate at Mama Melrose. We did so to get the Fantasmic pass. However, I have read reports that even with the pass the seats are not that great anymore. Is this true? Is there still a need to do the Fantasmic Dinner Package?

The seats are the same seats they always were.

The separate entrance is gone and if you have the package you need to get to the theater about an hour beforehand anyway (compared with 2 hours if you don't).

Do you need it? Maybe, maybe not. If there are 2 showings that night, you might as well not do the package and see the 2nd show. If there is only 1 show, how lucky do you feel? Do you feel like getting to the theater 2 hours ahead of time and/or risking standing room only?
