We will be using the DPP for the first time on our trip in September. Can we use the DPP for the Fantasmic Dinner package? Thanks

Yes you can for Hollywood and Vine (buffet). Mama Melrose set menu for fantasmic dinner pkg and I think the Brown Derby 2TS.

That is correct.

And Brown Derby (2 TS - as mentioned) is awesome. Unlike Mama Melroses it is not a set menu. (At least it wasn't last October when we ate there.)

We personally were disappointed in Mama Melrose's menu for Fantasmic Dinner pkg.

The info was very helpful. We ate at the Brown Derby once before and loved it, but I had not tried Momma Melrose or Hollywood and Vine before.

Thanks again

I don't think I've ever heard a good review on Mama M's here - I might have overlooked it, but... :confused3

H & V is a buffet. Period. No characters at dinner. It's OK. Nothing horrid that I recall - nothing spectacular either.

(too bad Prime Time isn't a choice - I always enjoy eating there - Atmosphere mostly, I suppose, but the food's good too)

As of January 1, 2007, there is no limited menu at Mama Melrose for the FDP, you can get anything on the menu. That was enough for our bold move from H&V to MM

Good luck choosing

My husband and I LOVED Mama Melrose's!!! I know it's gotten some bad reviews, but I say don't rule it out. It's got a really cute atmosphere, the flatbreads are out of this world, and now when you go for the F! package, you can order whatever you like from the menu.

If I've learned anything from the Dis boards, it's that you can find an incredibly positive and a horribly scathing review for every restaurant, attraction and hotel that disney has to offer!

I agree, take all the opinions with a grain of salt, as opinions vary, as do the moods of guests, CM's and of course....the kids.

I enjoy reading the reviews, but until you try it yourself you'll never know.

Most importantly.....have a blast while you're there.

It's honestly the only place I've ever been that feels completely magical. Watching my children's eyes light up when they see the characters is worth 100 icky meals...imo

Everyone's personal tastes are different -- one person's "bland and tasteless" could be "too spicy" to someone else. Also, people's expectations of their dining experiences are different, too. If we have wonderful food, and fantastic service, that's great! If we have decent food, and the service is OK...well...at least I didn't have to cook :rotfl2: So, I'm usually not too disappointed. :thumbsup2

We decided to try Mama Melrose's instead of H&V because we already have a couple of buffets on our list (Boma, CP). I'd love to try HBD, but we decided not to do any 2 TS restaurants on this first trip so we can try more places. Next trip, though ::yes::

So, they've removed the menu that's specifically for FDP? You can now order off MM's regular menu? If so, I better go cancel H&V and change it to MM...

We have done the Fantasmic package with both H&V and Mama Melrose. I thought H&V was nothing special but I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere at Mama Melrose.

The info I read said that the full menu was available as of Jan 1, 2007. Any Diser's out there that have actually eaten there this year for FTP that can confirm?

I did read that they had removed the limited menu at MM after we went there last year which will make it even better when we go back again this year.

On AllEars, the old menu is still listed if you look under Mama Melrose, but it's dated 6/06. If you look under "Fantasmic Dinner Package" it says the OOP cost is going up for both HBD and MM effective 4/1/07 (although MM is still only 1 TS credit on the DDP). And it specifically says as of 4/1, "Mama Melrose: Ages 10 and older $32.99 (plus tax and gratuity); children ages 3-9 $11.99 (plus tax and gratuity). You will be able to choose from the regular menu as of this date."
