Has anyone been to Mama Melrose on the Fantasmic dinner package? Is the menu the same as everyone else or do they have a separate menu for the dinner package? Just wondering...I thought I remembered seeing somewhere that there was a separate limited menu.

Thanks

DD and I did it in 2005. There was a separate menu but it had enough variety for us. Don't know about now, what with some of the changes that I've read about on the boards. We got a salad, which was just average, 4 cheese flatbread, again average, chicken parmesan, good, but not great, and tiramisu, excellent. I think our bill was around $80 including tip. (Weren't on the dining plan) We won't be doing a fantasmic package this year because I really didn't care for the dinner package seating. We were on the far right side. This year we're just going to line up early and try for the middle.

We're doing that package on Sept 2nd - I'll try to remember to post how it was when we get back! :)
As it turns out, we didn't need to do it for the seating b/c my sister is going to be in a wheelchair and the wheelchair seating is in a different place than the package seating!

We did the Mama Melrose with the Fantasmic Package a week and a half ago. I am pretty sure we got the same menu as everyone else. This is the second time we have eaten here. I enjoyed my first trip in 2002. I was not impressed this go round. You can order anything off the menu no matter what the price. I got a Pork Tenderloin dish. My wife was less adventurous and got the spaghetti. The Pork Tenderloin was served....I'll say medium rare....not what I was expecting. You may think I am crazy but I ate it anyway and it tasted okay. Hey I am still alive. My wife reports that her dish was bland and had little charecter. The kids had childrens menu items and they were fine. We had salad and desert with our meal. The salad was the best part of the meal. This was not a total wash but I don't think I will do this again.

We did the package last year and again July 10.

Last year, they had a separate menu for the package. This year, you get to choose one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert per person. It was good food, and service was fine except for being a little slow to get our desserts.

There is wheelchair seating in the dining package area.

We sat last year on the left side of the theater and I have to say i prefer the dining package side. IMO it was a better view seeing the floats as they first came out.

We went in May of this year, and we ordered from the regular menu. The food was really, really good, but the service wasn't. Could have been our particular server.

We ate at Mama Melrose in January. They had a seperate menu for Fantasmic, but the food was awesome and they had a variety to please everyone. Plus this was the only place I had a decent cup of coffee all week! lol

The back row of the whole amphitheater (including the Fantasmic Package area) is reserved for people using wheelchairs and/or ECVs.
The arrangement is a few empty spots for a wheelchair/ECV to park, then a seat for one person to sit next to the guest in the wheelchair/ECV. The rest of your party will be sitting in the 2 rows ahead of the back row - sort of directly in front of the person using the wheelchair/ECV. A usual party is considered to be 6 (5 plus the person with a disability).

If you are not using the package, you enter the area with all the other guests and stay in the regular line until about where strollers are pulled off for parking. At that point, a CM will get your party and lead you to seats (since there is only wheelchair/ECV seating at the specific areas, they make sure your party is shown where to sit).
We have been to WDW in some very busy times - including Spring break. We usually get into the line soon after the gates open for the line to start moving into the amphitheater (about 1-1.5 hours before the show starts). We have gotten there as late as 15 minutes before the show and still gotten a place and gotten there as far ahead as 45 minutes and got one of the last places. General busy-ness in the parks doesn't always translate into busy for people using wheelchairs and ECVs.
