Fantasmic Pacakge Question

I have read in a few posts that getting into Fantasmic was not that bad and dinner reservations were not really needed. We are going to be at MGM on 12/12 and I wanted to get advice as to if I will need to make dinner reservations to get in. Thoughts? Thanks!

During a slower time of year (12/12 would qualify as such) you really don't need the Fantasmic Package to get into the show. That said, I wouldn't wait until the last minute to arrive, just in case. So, even though you don't need it, the Fantasmic Package can still save you a little time in that you can arrive for the show a little later. If you were going to be eating in one of the retaurants that participates anyway, there is no harm in doing the package.....but I wouldn't spend more money than you would have otherwise on the dinner package just to get the seating.

Thanks for the advice. Do you know if the price of the meal will be more because we would be going to the show? I don't think it is but I thought I should ask. I know for our dinner in Epcot before the Candlelight Processional it does cost more. Thanks!

If you arrive at about 1 hour before and stake out a seat, you will not need the package.

After doing the package many times, I've decided it's not necessary in off season.

For my wife and I, the Phantasmic package is a peace of mind thing. We plan our trips out months in advanced, so we do not want to get there and have a hard time. With anything. It is nice to be absolutly sure we will get a seat.
We usually go the first week of Oct, and twice we noticed we got better seats arriving almost 30 minutes before showtime then we would've gotten if we went through the front gate. YMMV.

Now, IMHO there is only one resturant, Brown Derby, that is worth eating at out of the three choices. Fortunatly it is my favorite resturant. So we pay the price.
