Fantasmic is updated in the DLR site

Does anyone know what the menu choices are going to be for BB? That would be a huge factor in my decision on whether or not to book this.

From what I read the main entrees are the same as what is normally on the menu.

The thing that makes me worried is that the only package that gets you seating on the ground is the BB package. The RB package gets you standing room only and if you have kids, you don't know if they'll be able to see or not. The very sweet cast member I talked to this morning said that all the RB people would be behind the BB people.

YAY! The website is now functional! I was able to book a BB F! Package for Dec 31 at 6pm. PLENTY of availability!!!! Hooray! Hooray!:cool1:

Anyone know how far ahead you can book these? Is it 60 days like the regular dining ressies? And I am assuming you pay in full when you book like the old dessert seating?

Just got off the phone with Disney and they had NOTHING left for the Blue Bayou package for Dec 29-30-31. I'm SO disapointed!!!!!!! :(

Jozymouse how many are in your party? I tried online and it looks like it is working now. I put in some random times during your trip for 4 and it looks like they have openings?

Scratch that ...... I didn't see your post above until after I sent this.

YIPPIEE YIPPIEE YIPPIEE - I'm so happy it all worked out for you :)

They told me 60 days and you only leave a cc number for guarantee.

After much debating, I was able to get a reservation for 12/12 @ 5:30 for BB on the website...wasn't expecting it.

Had to change my Holiday Tour time, which thankfully they allowed me to do.

Not sure how far in advance you have to book, but I booked online and only had to give my credit card # to make the reservation, they do not charge it unless you don't show up for your reservation.

I am so glad that I do not have a trip planned soon. By the time I go (may not for the next 18 months) all this will be worked out and all the details including seating, regular FP vs dining package FP , etc. will be worked out.

That seals it. I am going to go on Dec 12 to see how much of a cluster this is all going to be.

I of course know they will make adjustments, but for those first few weeks its going to be bad.

From what I have read so far...
The Blue Bayou viewing area will be on the ground, near the water across from Cafe Orleans. Which basically means they will be located in front of the now dessert buffet area sitting on cushions. The River Belle Terrace area will probably be, where the dessert buffet area use to be, but this time you have to stand. Which means if you are in a standing section you better get to your viewing holding area an 1 hour to 30 minutes before the time posted on your Fastpass ticket so you can get a spot against the front railing (or 2 hours before showtime), similar to what you currently have to do for the World of Color.

The Grab n GO FP will get the Pirates bridge, which again equals that you better show up earlier than your FP time. When that viewing location was never that busy in the past.

The Hungry Bear Dessert viewing area I am unsure of.

Now take all of the above into account when you talk about the second 1030pm show. Those guests will probably be held in a particular location and again if you want to get the best spots against the rail you are going to have to wait through the first show and the fireworks.

If you want to imagine even more... There will be additional guests coming from Main Street after the fireworks to get into the viewing holding areas or standby viewing areas. All for a second show that guests in the past use to go to because you didn't have to wait more than 45 minutes to see.

All of this during one of the busiest times of the year. City Hall better be ready.

I just made my reservations for Blue Bayou at 6:40pm on Dec 12th. I didn't even think to ask which show. lol It doesn't matter, though. My daughter, Kelly, & I will enjoy either one.

There will also be some fastpasses available for those who do not want a meal. The distribution will be along the Big Thunder trail.

Thanks to all the posters for all of the information you've been sharing. :)

I can't imagine how they are going to prohibit people from sitting along the water. I actually think guests had to sit in that area. We have never actually stood for F! We either do the dessert pkg or get there early. I am going to have a hard time convincing my family to go now. BB would be outrageous for my party of 9. I hope we get a seating chart soon!

I am taking the plunge and will report back with full details. Our date is 12/14, a Sunday night. I wanted to give it a go when I know we wouldn't have got a better viewing spot without lining up 3 hours early. ;)

I agree with MouseEXP's assessment above, BB package will be seated in front of the current Dessert Package viewing area. RBT will be standing in the Dessert package area. The first free fastpasses will probably have the seated area to the right of BB package holders and the second group of free fastpasses will be standing behind them. I'm assuming Hungry Bear will get the standing area on the far left, but no idea about the Grab and Go peeps. :confused3

We currently have 3 different reservations under 3 different accounts since the Disneyland site won't let you cancel online yet! But we were FINALLY able to get all 7 of us together on 12/12 at the BB. I'll do my best to report back for others, but it may not be much until we get home after the trip.

As for payment, it's just like any other reservation for dining at DLR right now. You need your credit card to hold it and if you cancel less than 1 day in advance or don't show up you are charged $10pp. But you are not charged until then, no prepayment like the dessert package.

I look forward to hearing yours and others reports on just how it works.

:thumbsup2 When we did WoC after it first opened I didn't find it nearly as chaotic as some. The process of FP seating could be improved though. I am thinking this will be the similar.

I dont have any info on the location of the fast passes or the menus. I'm on hold (with the rest of the world!!!) on the Disneyland dining phone line. I cannot book any of the Fantasmic dining/dessert packages. I was able to book Blue Bayou on its own, so at least i have that secured but would really prefer the package! Its for Dec 31 and also my husband's birthday!!!!!!!

I wanted to help here if I can, since it's such a big day for you guys.

I, too, made the regular dinner reservation online to hold the spot. Then I redialed a million times to get through to a CM and she did magically change the dinner reservation to a FP Dinner package reservation. She did say this was necessary.

And she also said as far as which show you get, it's like WOC...kind of first come-first served, so early diners might grab the first show.

Hope your holiday visit works out great!

From everything that I have read, the Blue Bayou Dining option would be the best option if you plan to buy into a package. With this package you should be able to see the show pretty well, not have to wait an hour to 30 minutes before the time posted on your FP ticket to show up to the holding area and get a good view. Everyone in this area will be sitting down and cushion should be a nice thing to have.

The River Belle will be a pain since it will be near impossible to view the show unless you get a spot against the railing, which means you better show up early to the viewing holding area.

The only way I see the River Belle option working is if the number of guests per show is very limited where everyone will be able to get a railing view.

The standard FP system should also be good, just make sure you get your FP an hour or two after the park opens. You also have to be ok with waiting near the holding area by Big Thunder an hour to 30 minutes before the time posted on the FP ticket. I expect there will be more sitting room for those first hundred or so guests while the others stand behind those guests or the light towers behind the River Belle guests.

Grab n Go will probably be standing on the Pirates bridge
Hungry Bear will probably be standing to the left of the Blue Bayou group near Tom Sawyers Raft dock.

Stand By guests will get the standing area back near the restaurants of New Orleans Square.
