When you are making your reservations for 50's PT do you tell them you want the Fantasmic dinner package then, or when you are at the restaurant? Please let me know! Thanks!

The Fantasmic Dinner Package is not available at 50's Prime Time Cafe.

It is only available at 3 restaurants: Mama Melrose's, Hollywood & Vine, and The Brown Derby. The seatings are earlier, usually before 5:30 or so. Yes, you have to specify when you are making your ADR that you want the Fantasmic Dinner Package. They will ask you to give a credit card number but it is not charged in advance. If you don't show up for the reservation, then they will charge a fee per person to the card (I think it's $10).

I think you can only book Fantasmic dinner package at Mama Melrose, Brown Derby, and Hollywood and Vine. You need to let them know at the time of booking. It worked really well when I did this with Hollywood and Vine. It looks like the Mama Melrose option has a set menu to choose from, and it is considerably more expensive than Hollywood and Vine. If you find out that Prime Time Diner works too, I would like to know - I would take that option.

I don't think 50s PTC is part of the dinner package. It is usually Mama Melrose, Brown Derby and Hollywood and Vine. Things change suddenly so I may be wrong.

But the answer to your question is you need to tell them when you book. There are certain dinner time slots associated with the package. Additionally, they take a credit card number. There is a modest fee if the package is not canceled within 48 hours.

Personally it really is not worth it anymore. The fantasmic guests still have to wait in line like an hour or more before show time .since fantasmic started its redcuced schedule, there have been reports of dinner pkg people having to stand or actually not get in.

I am not sure I understand this. If it doesn't cost any extra, it can't possibly hurt anything. Although there are limited times available for dinner in conjunction with Fantasmic.

It doesn't hurt if you were going to eat at one of those places anyway. But if you were just going to eat there for the advantage of guaranteed seating , it is not really worth it.Since now you still have to wait in line, and are not guaranteed a seat.

Got it! I am bringing another family down to play in July. One of our priorities was to do the Fantasmic dinner package, it might not be as cool as the last time if we don't end up with seats. We will reconsider to see if we really want to eat at Hollywood and Vine. Thanks for the information.

The Fantasmic dining times tend to be early. I just booked some clients for April and the time frame was 3:30-4:55pm for dinner. It would be a bit later further in the year IF Fantasmic runs later, say in the summer. Cast members have told me it's partially to give you time to eat and get there, partially to book up the less popular dining time slots.

It is H&V, Mama Melrose, and Brown Derby. I have never seen Prime Time do the package.

In most cases it will cost more. For instance, if you are eating at H&V it is $24.99 for the dinner buffet but the Fantasmic pkg is $26.99. So for only $2 extra per person, it's probably always worth it. But if you are eating at Mama Melrose's, it's a set price of $32.99 plus tax and tip. I'm sure there are many people who wouldn't normally spend that amount on their dinner paying OOP. So in that case you are paying more to get the Fantasmic package, possibly $5-10 depending on what you order. Same with Brown Derby, although since their menu prices are much higher you would more likely spend the $46.99 OOP as with the package.

I've not heard of needing to get there an hour early with the Fantasmic package. I have heard there is no longer a separate entrance. I'll be interested to hear more from people during the spring break season when they have more shows.
