fantasmic dinner package

I rang up Disney Dining this morning to book the fantasmic dinner package for the 15th of June and she said that i couldn't do as of yet because they had not released the later hours (after 4:30) yet and i should ring back in a couple of weeks. How often do they put out the hours for things like this. I don't want to leave it too long and miss our chance. Should i ring back on Friday?

And also what is the package. I know you get you meal in one of the restaurants We would prefer Mama Melrose's, do you then go and watch the show later that evening with your pass or do you watch while you eat Mil Rang me up this morning and said she would like to do this and we are up for it too but we don't know what were getting. Were going to book it anyway. any help would be great

I'm not sure about the hours, I've always been able to get it at 90 days out I would try again as soon as you can.

As for the package, what happens is you have your meal and then you are given coupon/tickets for the show. You are then told the directions to the "special" entry for Fantasmic package holders only. About 30/45 mins prior walk to the special entry and you will be directed to the reserved seating. Be aware though, it was a long walk as far as I remember!

You can pick one of three restaurants...Mama Melrose, Brown Derby or Hollywood & Vine. H&V is a buffet, so you basically pay for your meal as normal and the Fantasmic "reserved seating" is free. With the other two restaurants, there is a limited menu to choose from.

When you are seated, your server will give each of you a voucher and tell you where the "back door" to the Fantasmic theatre is situated (next to Oscars on the Main Boulevard). Most of the PS times are several hours before the show. You dont see the show while you eat - it is set in a huge theatre in the park.

When you get to the "Back door" to the theatre, you hand over your voucher, and then you walk to the theatre (quite a stroll!). There is a reserved section for FDP guests only, though be warned, if its busy, they open it up to the public 5 mins before show time, so get there nice and early for good seats!

Not sure when the second seating is opened up - try again next week and see.

I suspect this is not widely appreciated and we discovered it quite by accident when we decided to pop in to the studios to catch Fantasmic (our favourite show) but arrived much later than intended, not expecting to get in at all. We finished up in some of the best seats in the auditorium . I suppose if everyone decided to try this tactic the result could be disastrous but we were oh so lucky.

We have done the H&V dinner package. A great choice buffet but my word of warning is to suggest you take a jumper as the air conditioning is extremely severe there and the ladies in our party particularly complained of being frozen. We will be arranging our PS (sorry ADR - advance dining reservation - the new title from this month apparently) for H&V in the next few days - a smashing meal and a wonderful show.

For something like this you should be okay booking not too far in advance - don't expect to walk up on the day and get a time you want but you'll not find that should you phone 89 days out it'll be all gone. There are only a few (CRT for example) that you need to nail on the 90 day rule. If you know you're going to be there - book it.

We did the H&V Fantasmic Dinner Package in April. We had PS for 4pm, but there were people who were able just to walk in and say they wanted the Fantasmic Package. The more people you have in your party, then the more need there is to book a PS for the time you want.
Since our PS was for 4pm, we had a couple of hours in between the dinner and then seeing Fantasmic, which allowed us to see the Parade - and go to First Aid, since DS fell off the kerb and cut his elbow!

My family did the Fantasmic package in April - H&V which was a lovely buffet.

I rang at about 28 days out and got 6.00pm PS - but there were only four of us and it wasn't a busy week. I found that Sunday at about 5.00pm our time was a great time to make the call. I made about three calls to book Cirque, PS's and then change PS's!

I don't think you can lose by booking up - it gives you the certainty of a good meal and a wonderful show. However you will need to leave a credit card no. with the CM and should you fail to show up they make a small charge to your card which they don't do with other PS's.

Fantasmic is worth waiting in line or walking round the back way for and I'm sure you will enjoy it. My DS10 was enthralled and he really didn't want to see it!

The walk is long so give yourself plenty of time ?15 mins - prob less - memory vague because Fantasmic show blew me away
Def one of top5 highlights of holiday

I made all my PS's for our visit in early July at the end of April but couldn't get a FDP for 30 June at all. They were already fully allocated for all 3 participating restaurants. I asked whether they reserved some for 'on the visitors' and the CM was less than convincing in her negative reply.

I will try again tomorrow just in case they were spinning me a line but I've just noticed Fantasmic is now on twice that day so I believe access to the 10.30 pm will be relatively striaghtforward.

Actually in many occassions getting a table for 2 can be more difficult than getting a table for 4, also while the restaurants may have some space, they only have a certain amount of Fantasmic seats they will set aside. If you're keen on using this dinner show offering and you know the date you're planning on you have nothing to lose by booking ahead of time. You can always cancel the booking (within the rules in place at the time) , but to make a booking with no space available is much MUCH harder.

I can see where that would have been the case early July is a busy time due to the July 4th celebrations and is the middle of the USA summer school holidays (most Americans also prefer June/July over the very humid/stormy times of August). There are no seats "held back" for dinner shows so I would guess either the agent didn't quite understand what you meant by the phrase or (because 4th of July is such a big holiday over here) she expected that you'd be aware that it is one of the busiest times of the year.

Gary good luck with trying again, hopefully something will turn up for you. It is worth asking the rep to check for the other show. There is a HUGE amount of information available to the reps, sometimes too much information. It's not easy to remember all of it when checking for availability. If you have a little flexibility and could alter the day you wanted to atend Fantasmic it's pretty easy for the rep to check the days before or after the one you specified. It does take a few minutes to do the checking, but it's easy enough to do.

Firstly please pardon my ignorance.

Is Fantasmic a daily/nightly show and is it in the Magic Kingdom? We're planning on going to Mk on 27th October but have got tickets booked for MNSSHP that night. Does this mean that we'll miss Fantasmic or is it something you can book for another night?

Any info would be appreciated

Hi kcodd, you don't need to book for fantasmic, its a nightly show (excluding thunder and lightning) so even if you don't have a dinner package booked you can just go in, get there real early though to get a good seat, its amazing, mickey takes on the disney villains and defeats them to the background of fireworks, music and lasers, if you book a dinner package you get a priority seating ticket that allows you to sit in a reserved area, the dinner package works out $1 more than that particular restaurants dinner menu, so as you have to eat somewhere its a good way of queue jumping, any more questions please ask.

We booked on the same day in August & got in at H&V for 6 of us.
