How far in advance do I have to arrive at Fantasmic if I have seats through the Fantasmic Dinner Package?

Also, where are he best seats in the assigned section for those in the Dinner Package?

Thanks.

Arrive at least 30 minutes before showtime for a good choice of seats in the two center sections of the amphitheater. Mid-way up is good so that you don't get sprayed with water if it is windy.

The reserved seating is in the 2 center sections, so all the seats are pretty good. I actually prefer to be a little bit back to avoid being sprayed with water and feeling the heat from the other effects.

I would show up at least 30 minutes prior to show time although you would probably be safe 20 minutes prior except in the very busy seasons.

I was disappointed with it, because when we got there they were not checking the tickets anymore even though the ticket said until 6:45. We arrived at 6:38 and the ropes were down and anyone could seat in the section.

Was this recently? In my recent visits, late Standby guests had to wait in the entrance pathway and then could only fill in the Fp+ area.

I'm also debating if F! dinner package is worth it, given the high cost for our group of 8. Would love to sit in center seats, but if they are taking down the ropes more than 30 min before the show and everyone is filling it, it seems a waste.

What is everyone's experience? Can anyone just sneak into the section? When exactly do they take the ropes down? Is it very possible to skip the dinner package and just sit in a asection next to the ropes, wait for them to go down, and hop into a middle section?

They have very specific seating and the CMs and managers provide a human barricade to make sure Fp+ and Standby do not sit in the Dining area. When the late Standby guests are allowed to enter, they could only fill in the empty Fp+ area less than 10 minutes before showtime.

Here is how they fill the amphitheater with Dining in the two center sections:

- Fp+ enter on the left side of the pathway and sit in the Fp+ area - all sections to the left of he Dining Package area are filled one by one with CMs overseeing this process.

- Standby guests enter on the right side of the pathway and veer to the right entrance. Each section to the right of Dining is filled one by one until the complete standby area is filled.

- Once standby is filled, all waiting standby guests are held in the entrance pathway until 5 minutes before showtime. At that time, they are allowed to fill in the Fp+ area.

Keep in mind that almost all of the seating at Fantasmic is good, with the triple water screens and shape of the stage. The exceptions would be the close up seating, maybe first half dozen or so rows. Those can get wet, a bit to a lot, depending on wind direction and strength. May be nice on a hot summer evening, but otherwise not so much.

Thanks. Very helpful. Does that mean they allow center sections to remain half full on nights when Dining packages do not sell out?

Yes this was February. We even double check with CM, because we thought this couldn't be it.

They open the dinner area up to all about 5 minutes before the show, so it fills up too.

When we went this month the dinner area was the Mickey and Scar areas (if that helps).

Thanks for the update. That, to me, doesn't seem fair...

We currently have reservations for this, but I am debating whether to keep them. We usually go in moderate/low crowd times, so we've never had an issue walking up 10-15 minutes before the show - if we go to the second show, the theater is only half full.

My question is why do they tell you to arrive 30 minutes early if they hold the seats until 5 minutes before show time? Shouldn't you be able to arrive 10 minutes early?

Thanks! I was there late February, during Pres' Week, and the CMs kept non-diners out. But, they must have miscalculated on how many late Standby guests there would be. Still is unfair to Diners, though.

I went to 3 Fants in February, because DD is a Fant performer, and Dining always started to fill about 30 minutes before showtime. It does give you a better choice of seats by arriving earlier... too close to the water you can get sprayed as well as more mosquitoes, too!

I'm a big fan of F! dinner package my only complaint is the dinner is so early.

I would get there 30 minutes ahead of time also.

Why not do a lunch then? I'll think I'll try Mama Melrose lunch F! package this time, if I can get a time close to 12pm. F! is at 7pm for out trip and I prefer not to eat dinner at 4pm.

Today was my 180 day mark. I reserved mama melrose Fantasmic package but now I'm looking at MDE and it shows my mama melrose reservation but Fantasmic is showing reserved for the following day. Did I do something wrong? Shouldn't it be for the same day we are eating??

Yes. The seating voucher is only good for the first show on the day you dine. It sounds like another glitch if the MM Fantasmic! Package is one day and the seating is on a different day.

Mosquitoes??? Should I bring some Off towelettes for our Fantasmic! Night?

I have been trying in vain to get a dinner package for October and there seems to be a cutoff time of 4PM. Latest available at 180 day mark was 3:40. I was on the website at 5AM and tried for the dining package within three minutes of that mark. I wanted a 5PMish time. No availability. On the dining forum, this seems to be the case across the board.
