Fantasmic Dinner Package...worth it?

Just looking to hear some thoughts on the Fantasmic Dinner Package. We missed Fantasmic last year (we've never seen it) and it's definitely on my list of must-dos this year! I feel like my FP+s would be best used elsewhere at HS, but would love to not have to camp out to get a seat. Is it worth it with the restaurants offered? If it gets rained out, what happens?

Yes! We've done this twice now and both time had good experiences. First time we had dinner at the Brown Derby (two TS credits on the dining plan) and the second time we had dinner at Mama Melrose.

The food at Mama Melrose is good, and last time we got a free appetizer as part of the package.

The Brown Derby Dinner was excellent! Just depends on whether you want to use 2 TS credits or not.

We are trying the Hollywood and Vine F! package this year.

We had decent seats both times. You only have to arrive 30 min ahead of time.

If it rains and the show is cancelled, you do not get to reschedule.

I highly recommend this if you have young kids. It beats waiting for an hour and half.

We did the F! dining package this past October at Mama Melrose and felt it was very worth it. The food there was pretty good...about Olive Garden standard. The dinner time was early...reservation for 3:40. We didn't get in until closer to 4 and by the time we ate it was ok for us....we had done a larger breakfast, snaked mid day and then this was our dinner. The seats we had were center stage. It was very crowded in HS when we were there--Columbus Day. The line for Fantasmic was VERY long and my kids would have never waited so for us it was well worth it to have the package. We ate, made it in time for our FP+ for Beauty and The Beast then Fantasmic was following. We used FP+ for that and ToT and TSMM.

we have booked the dinner package for our upcoming trip in April This will be the first time we have done the dinner package - we have booked it at Mama Melroses.
fantasmic is definitely worth it fantastic show

The dinner package has a reserved seating area in the center of the theater, the FP+ option does not have reserved seating. For that reason, the dining package is a better option, imo.

We have done the Fantasmic package twice and eaten at Mama Melrose's. We're planning on doing it again in February. We've been very happy with it. I like the fact that there is no extra cost to do it and you don't have to get to your seats as early.
