Fantasmic Dinner Package vs Dining Plan

I need some advice on using the fantasmic dinner package vs. my dining plan credits. We were planning on doing the Fantasmic package but as I figure out our dining plan I realize we have 2 extra table service credits per person. I've always done the Fantasmic package and now I'm wondering if its worth it or if I should just make reservations at the Brown Derby and stand in line for Fantasmic. We'll be going the 1st week of October. Any advise?

Well I am going to book Mama Melrose tomorrow morning & not with the FDP since I am on the free dining. Also if you take the package from MM you have to choose from a fixed price rather limited menu. I am going to book MM alone & take my chances standing on line.

I am also debating on doing 50's Prime Time for the atmosphere and taking my chances of waiting in line for the show. I'm not overly excited about any of the restaurants available with the package plus I can't use the dining plan.
I am, as of this moment, leaning towards booking 50's for lunch and getting some type of counter service that we can eat for dinner while waiting in line for the show.

I ordered the FDP at Hollywood and Vine and used the extra credit for a signiture meal at California Grill.
I'd say if I were like you and had the credits to use, I'd just use them and stand in the regular line. I already planned to do Cali Grill which left me a meal short so because I would pay for a meal out of pocket anyway, I decided to get the package.

I have called and spoken to two CM's about this very thing. Both CM's told me that you can use your dining credits for your Fantasmic package. Hollywood & Vine and Mama Melrose's count as one table service each. Hollywood Brown Derby uses two table service credits.

Really?????? :earseek: That would be great! I call tomorrow so I'll check it out. thanks!

Many have reported back that H&V accepted the Dining Plan with FDP but its been mixed for Mama Melrose. You could try & use it (maybe earlier in your stay) then if its not accepted you would have time to use the credits somewhere else.

I'm just using my credits to go to MM for dinner then going to stand in line for Fantasmic. Hopefully Sept 29 wont be that packed.

I have just tried to book the Hollywood vine FDP again using dining credits and have been told that I would need to upgrade my MYW + dining package to the MYW Premium. To bad...don't really want to pay for extra for it. We are on a budget trip this time.
