We have res at 7 at H&V for the Fantasmic package. Will we have enough time to make a 9pm show? I figured since it was a buffet, it wouldn't take us that long.

Thanks,
Corina

We like leisurely dinners, so when we've been to H&V for dinner for the package, just the two of us, we've taken between 1.5 - 2 hours. Plus, they do stop letting people in at some point - they usually say to be there no later than 30 minutes prior, and they even were about to close the gates at 45 minutes prior.

Really, it's up to you and how long you think you'll take to eat.

Last time we ate at H&V it took us 15 minutes to get seated, so you will want to account for that. After being seated it took us about an hour to eat our meal. So, I would make your PS an hour and a half before the time you want to leave H&V. I would also arrive 15 minutes early for your PS time.

Now, after you leave H&V I'd plan about 10 minutes to walk to the FDP entrance to Fantasmic. We arrived at the entrance about 25 minutes prior to showtime and got good FDP seats. People continued to file in until at least 10 minutes prior to show time. So, if you want a good seat I'd arrive at the recommended 30 minutes prior to show time. However, you should be able to get away with arriving 15 minutes prior if you don't care about your seat.

That being said a 7 PS means you probably have little chance at getting a good seat and you may have to rush your meal. Personally I would move my PS up to 6:30 or, if that isn't an option, I would arrive at 6:30 for a 7 PS and hope to get seated early.

We eat at H&V before Fantasmic, PS is always as close to 7 as possible. Always out well before 8:30, always get a good seat :) Food at a buffet isn't an event for us (unless it is characters)- so we eat and get out. I guess it depends on whether you linger or not :)

is that we'll be there for the last Star Wars day and we want to see the Hyperspace Hoopla, which is at 6:30. We don't look at this as an "event" meal, either. I figured if we're seated by 7:15, we'll be done eating by 8 at the latest. That would give us 30 min to get to Fantasmic in order to be there 30 min before showtime.

If we skipped the H&V meal, how early do you think we'd have to get in line at Fantasmic to get a seat? The other option we've considered is watching to Hoopla, grabbing something to eat and eating while we wait for Fantasmic.

We have 4.10 res for H&V as that was all they offered when I rang to reserve. How far out were you able to get a 7pm res? if I rang now would they change it ,if a 6/6.30 pm res was available? but i guess this is a really popular time?

and we're leaving next week, so about 14 days ahead. I've read on this board that the later res (6 pm and later) are opened up 30 days prior. Everyone says to keep the early reservations and call to change to a later time 30 days prior.

I can vouch for the reserve now, call again later plan. When I first booked early, the only thing available was Brown Derby (most expensive option) at 4:30p (latest time available).

Then, 10 days before the reservation: H&V (most affordable option) at 7:00pm (most desirable time for me) was open. I took it!
