Fantasmic Dinner package or second showing of fantasmic?

Currently I have reservations for Fantasmic Dinner Package, but I just found out they are offering a second showing of Fantasmic during our stay.

Would you do the dinner package or go to the second showing? I have heard that the second showing is always much less crowded.

Depending how late the second show was, we would probably do it. My kids dont last too late so that would be our deciding factor.

As for the 2nd show being less crowded, you are right. We walked into the 2nd show about 20 minutes in advance during Christmas week. We got 4th row seats and by show time the sections on either end were still empty.

If you arent thrilled about doing the FDP, then the 2nd show is the way to go.

I like going to the second showing. It is much less crowded and it is a great way to end a late night at MGM.

If you think you'll have the energy to stick around for the second show, that's definitely the best choice. We chose to do the dinner package and go to the first show because, to be honest, we're so tired at the end of a day in the parks I don't think we'd enjoy anything by the time of the second show. But that's us - you know your family, and if you think you'll have the energy, go to the second show!

Wow, I wish we had that experience!
We went July 4th week and it was SO crowded for the second show, the wait was horrible. I 'm planning to do the package this JUly, but I'd really like to know if anyone thinks the week of the July 4th will be as packed for the 2nd Fantasmic, as it was in 2002.

I'm still on my vacation right now in Sarasota. My DH and I went to DW this past week. We did the EMH each day offered at each park. What I found this past week is that the parks were crowded. Especially MK even with EMH. The amount of strollers in the park is incredible.

I recommend that anyone really interested in Fantasmic Dinner Package to go ahead and reserve. We got our PS the same day we went to each park. Fortunately there was no problem there. Just go to Guest Relations at the entrance of the park. By looking at the crowds, I figured it was the best tactic. When I asked some cast members if they felt it was crowded they said "no"?

We still had a good time. We selected only the rides and attractions we really wanted to see and skipped some.

We are going in Dec of this year. First time to see the Christmas Decorations. YEA!!!!

I am unsure if they will have a second showing then. But based on some posts that I have seen about the crowds that time of year I am guessing that they will. Does anyone know what time the second showing is?

I believe the second showing is at 10:30 p.m.

I'm still undecided. I think I will keep my Fantasmic Dinner Package reservation and try to do the second showing a couple days prior. If it works great, if not then I'll see it later in the week with the package.

If I remember right, in Dec the 2nd show was 8:30. For a few days there, Christmas and following, they actually had 3 shows.
