I was just wondering if anyone thinks that the Fantasmic Dinner Package is necessary in September? Are the crowds low enough that one doesn't have to worry about not getting a seat without waiting in line for 60-90 minutes ahead of the show? We've never been in September and I wondered if booking the package would be a waste now. We'll be at MGM on September 19th. Thanks in Advance!!

I am also wondereing about this but for January ( probably 6). is it all year long and if so , right before park closing. Thanks

I have never found it "neccessary", I always get a seat about 45 minutes before the show. It's a nice break, they play fun music, and you can bring in a snack or buy one at their kiosks there.

Thanks MagicKndm...you helped me make up my mind. I've used the Fantasmic Package in the past and it worked out great. I just don't like this new "deal" where Disney is dictating what you must eat in order to get in 30 minutes before the show as opposed to say 45 minutes. Plus they're also charging *extra* money for the food. The Hollywood and Vine buffet is 19.99 and now they're charging 22.99 for the Fantasmic package. Now if they gave you center seats for the extra charge, well, then I'd think about it. As long as I can get a seat at 45 minutes, I'll definitely skip the package. We'll eat at Primetime and take our chances...

I made reservations yesterday for the Fantasmic Dinner Package at Hollywood and Vine for our trip this November. The price was $19.99 per person plus tax and gratuity...which is the same price as the buffet without the Fantasmic seats. I had read the thing on this board about $22.99 also so I asked her to be sure and check the price...then I called back to confirm...both times they insisted it was $19.99. Not sure where the other info came from... so if you are going to eat there anyways, might as well get the seat for Fantasmic...those benches make my back hurt when I sit there for an hour before the show.

We booked the Fantasmic dinner package at Mama Melrose's for 9/27 at 6 p.m. It was $28.99/each. The CM said we get dinner, dessert, and show seating. I have read conflicting reports on the package inclusions, does anyone know for sure if we get to choose from the whole menu? Or do they pick out a specific dessert? I read there is a salad before dinner, too? True? If so, it may be worth $28.99...otherwise maybe we will cancel and just try to get to Fantasmic at a decent time on our own.

You get your choice of entree. You share a flatbread and salad "family style" and the dessert is tiramasu.
