Hi there,

I have a few questions concerning our upcoming trip in September of this year. We're going to DS on Sept 22 and want to eat at Mama Melrose.

We're getting the MYW package with the DDP. Also, its an EMH evening at DS the night we want to go.

1) Are there two Fantasmic showings that night? One during regular hours and one also during EMH?

2) What time does Fantasmic take place in late September?

3) Is the reserved seating good seating? I heard its all the way to the right. How long would the regular line be during late September and would the difference in waiting time be worth getting the package? We were planning on eating at Mama Melrose either way so I was just wondering if its a better idea to go ahead and book the package.

4) Do you get anything special with the package besides reserved seating?

5) How much time before the fantasmic showing should you book a dinner at Mama Melrose? Is it better to book an early dinner or one close to show time?

Thank you guys for all your help! This is our first DDP experience!

Is the reserved area seperated from the rest of the arena? Just curious since the area that is reserved is to the far right. Can you see everything from that area?
Thanks

1. Yes, there are two showings; one at 8:00p and the other at 9:30p.

2. At park closing, usually around 8:00p.

3. The reserved seating is to the far right of the stadium, roped off so that regular guests don't sit there. All seats have a decent view of the stage, however, IMHO, the best seats are in the center!

I've done the package (and without package) in September and I've never encountered a line. I just walked in at 1 hour before and picked a seat however, I've never gone on an EMH night.

4. No, all you get is your meal and then they hand you a voucher that allows you to enter through the package entrance and sit in the package section. The package guarantees you a seat but is still first come, first served so you should enter the special package entrance no later than 30 minutes before.

5. The CM on the phone will give you a range of times to choose from and they are usually VERY early. But as a rule, they will not give you an ADR any closer than 2 hours before the show. The meal alone can take at least 1 hour and 1/2 and then you need time to walk to the special package entrance and then the LONG walk from the special entrance to your seat.

Thanks for your help. We went in June of last year and sat in the upper center. I dont remember waiting very long even then, but our seats werent the best. We could still see everything great but we were pretty far back.

Would it be rude to get the package and then gauge the regular line at a little before show time? I don't know how many packages are available so I don't want to take up a voucher and not use it if theres a very limited supply.

In your honest opinion, if we're already planning on eating there anyway, would it be better to join the regular line and hope for a good seat or to use the package and sit in the reserved section?

Thanks!

I've never seen it roped off. If you don't like the seats, you can go sit in the "regular" section. I've never had a problem seeing anywhere in the theatre.

All I know is that we booked Fantasmic package with the Brown Derby. The Brown Derby was fine and would have been better had we not had to eat DINNER at 3:15 in the afternoon. That being said, our seats were all the way to the right side and I just felt an unfairness about that. He I was spending all this money, eating a meal when I wasn't hungry and then on top of it all just about having the worst seats in the house. For me it wasnt worth it.

Yeah, the seats are guaranteed, not preferred.

You can always enter through the FDP entrance and look and see if there are better seats and move if you wish. You're not restricted to that area, it's just "guaranteed" seating for FDP diners.

Thanks for all your help guys! We've decided on not getting the package and just entering through the regular entrance.
