New to boards. What is Fantasmic?

Fantasmic is the nightly laser/firework shows at MGM. It's gets very crowded and you usually have to go early if you want good seats.

Not just good seats, it is such a popular show that sometimes it fills up and you can't get in. DD and I tried to get into Fantasmic in late August 2003 and were turned away by the time we reached the entrance because it was filled to capacity.

This trip our son will be just turning 12. I figured we will paying the adult trip. This really raises our price...especially since he is so picky and will only eat a little from the kids section on the buffet. :bounce: Don't get me wrong...I know a lot of 12 year old boys who eat more than an adult, so I understand the policy.

I also have the dining plan and no you cannot use it for the show....too bad.

Dimimi, we just got back yesterday and had the Fantasmic package at the Brown Derby with an 8 year old and a picky 13 year old. Our server allowed him to order off the kids menu and charged him the kids price...and she got a fat tip. You wont have to pay the adult price for him. Enjoy the show is great!

I guess I am lost. I went to Fantasmic without a special ticket and had wonderful seats. We arrived to our seats about 1 hour before the show and had no problems getting a seat for a family of 5. We walked right in and sat down. Maybe it was the time of year we went (Feb)? And it was just 2004 so not that long ago.

I would say you lucked out! It must of been a slow day.

I used the vouchure and walked in 10 mins before the show and sat in the front row !! The whole section were great seats too !! Worth it to me to not have to wait an hour :)

Got the magic your way dinin plan add on. . .made reservations for fantasmic dinner package at Mama Melrose. . .hoping I get a friendly cast member to accept my sit down meal tickets --- if not I'll still enjoy a great dinner with the best spectacular show put on by WDW :cool1: :earsboy: :cool1: :earsboy:

I just spoke to a CM at Disney Dining. We have purchased the dining add-on for our trip in Nov. She told me that because of the popularity of the Fantasmic Pkg. They would not honor my TS credit. She suggested I pay for our dinner OOP and use my TS credit for another meal in the afternoon or or choose a 2 credit TS. I was polite but expressed my dis-pleasure at not being able to use it for the pkg. since I did choose a rest. on the list and since I would basically order just like the pkg. She said she had recieved numerous complaints similiar to mine and would pass them on to the powers that be. Oh Well!

The Fantasmic Packages were all sold out for Oct. 2 - at all three restaurants! I tried to book ADR's today - after losing hope of October hours ever coming out and couldn't get the package. I couldn't believe it The CM said the package is as popular as Cinderella's Breakfast. And you still have to wait!!!

My parents were told Mama Melrose would except the DDE card for a normal ressie but you could not use it for the Fantasmic pkg. This happened just yesterday.

I used my DDE card for the FDP at Mama Melrose's a couple of weekends ago. Our server messed up our bill (extra desserts) so I don't know if he took it as a way to make up for the mix-up. It never hurts to ask.

Does anyone know if you can use Disney rewards card for Fantasmic Dinner Package?

Disney Rewards cards are supposed to be just like money. However, I don't know if you can use them (or HOW to use them) before the trip - i.e. paying for the dinner package before the trip. I used mine to pay for our dinner at the California Grill and again to buy some gifts at the Grand Floridian. No problem - took them just like a credit card. Have fun!
