Fantasmic Dinner Package Changes

I've booked a FDP at HV for 3/17 so I don't have to wait in line with DS 5 & 11 (particularly the 5-yr-old). DS(5) is very fussy, so I'm hoping he will find enough to eat - however, knowing from experience the quality of Disney shows (and with current exchange rates) it still seems a good deal for me to skip the line.

We're planning on going to MGM around 2-ish after a relax at the hotel ( as 7pm is midnight UK time!) to keep the kids going and now I'm starting to panic that the park might fill up and close to visitors. Is that likely? And if it did, would we be let through because of our PS (and as we're staying onsite)?

Not really panicking, honest.... :scared1: :hyper2: :confused3 :hyper: :headache:

Why do you think the park will close to visitors ??? I remember HV had a section for lil ones. Chicken fingers, mac and cheese, pizza, broccli .... I'll have to ask DD what was there for ya. It is all you can eat ... so you can't really go wrong. They had a great selection for all I thought.

You'll be glad you did the PS for Fantasmic... it was AWESOME !!!!!!!

If the park get too full they will close it off to guests not staying on Disney property. I don't think this will happen though. Normally park capacity is very high during peak season or weekends. However I don't know what it will be like during St. Patrick's day.

There is so much to choose from at H&V. They had quite an array of children's food and my picky daughter found plenty to eat. The food was certainly worth the price because there is such a large selection. It was so nice to enter a crowded stadium to see Fantasmic and have reserved seating. We were able to see everything from the seats. We went in less than 30 minutes before and had our pick of seats. This was President's week too!!

I am a cery fussy eater and I loved H&V - Plenty of choice and the separate kids part - although both adults and Kids can eat from each others section - as the best was the desserts - Help yourself to soft serve ice cream and all the M&Ms and sprinkles you want on it. Certainly enought to keep small kids (and the BIG kids) happy. Our server was called Sue and her blood was worth bottling - she was exceptional. Our drinks flowed like no tomorrow and we never had to ask for anything - it was there before we even realised that we wanted something. :flower1:

Thanks for these guys.

We're staying at the Coronado Springs so I suppose even if its full tothose staying off property they will let us in.

Phew!! :cheer2:

We did the Fantasmic Package for the first time This past Dec. 20th? It was awesome, we had never seen the show before. My 9 year old thought it was the greatest!

Thanks for everyone's tips. We ate at the B/D. It was yummy. The filet was terrific. I had heard that you could get a lobster tail included for asking, but she said it was additional and she even mentioned it as a special. Oh well. we had too much food as it was.

We would definately do the package again. Our seats were fine. I think you should have a choice of where you sit, in that section, they pretty much tell you exactly where to go :flower: .

Is Brown Derby still letting you choose an entree of their regular menu, or are they limiting it like MM?

We just called on Jan. 22 to try to find seating for the package but nothing was available. We will be there in march. 13-17. Anyone have any other hints for us ?

Oh my! We'll be there at that time as well.
Do you think it will really be that crowded?

I would hold off and try again a little later-sometimes
spots do become available.

I phoned as soon as the 90-day window opened - that was around Christmas.

I did hear that sometimes they add another restaurant (perhaps if its really busy). As you have to book using a credit card (and they charge a booking fee if you don't turn up) you may get a cancellation if people's circumstances change - people are less likely to just not turn up if it will cost them $$! :drinking1

I wish I would of known about that sooner. We are new to this. And since we will be going for our anniversary we would like to make it a fun and carefree vacation. When would be a good time to call again to see if they have another available ?

We booked our ps only 30-days ahead with no problem last spring. We only could choose from H&V, but that was fine with us.

Does anyone know what time the FDP would be at Brown Derby for last April? I was thinking we'd get the package as I really don't want to wait 2 hours with a 1 year old, but we also want to eat lunch at 50sPTC that day and if the last FDP is going to be like 4:50, we wouldn't really be hungry even if we ate an early lunch.

I called two weeks ago for Easter and they didn't have any open slots for the three restaurants involved . They said more would probably open up thirty days out.

I booked the FDP yesterday for 4/24 and the latest time they had available was 3:40pm! Now I knew we'd have to eat earlier on the FDP than if we ate at BD without the package, but 3:40 is the earliest we've ever had. It was the 90 day mark so I doubt they were completely sold out of later times. I'm hoping once the park hours come out that we can get a later time since I'm guessing Fantasmic won't be till around 8, but who knows. 3:40 is a bit early for us to eat since my daughter is not used to eating dinner at 3:40, so we might just do without the package if later times don't open up.

Wow. I would have thought their systems would be updated w/ the April hrs for booking now. That sounds ridiculously early. I plan on calling in a few more days for my ressie....I'll let you know how I make out.

I think they're having two showings of Fantasmic over Easter - check out the show times. I've also heard they sometimes extend it to other restaurents -keep trying!

They did last Easter. The later one was definitely less crowded and the closer to the date the more times opened up (later). We originally had a 3:30 HBD PS (right when they opened) and were able to change it to 5:30 about 2 weeks out.
