Fantasmic Dinner Package Changes

I did not get a cancellation number. I just waited while the CM punched in info on the computer. I am sure you can call a couple days later to make sure that the PS is cancelled. I know you can also get a print out of PS's from the Disney Resort upon checkin if you are staying in one.

Thanks, JoshMom5! We'll be on-property: WL this time. I see you'll be @ WDW in 2 weeks - lucky!! Have a great time and let us know how the FDP worked out! Thanks! Laura

No, they don't give you a # when you cancel. They don't charge your card unless you don't show up unlike CRT where they do charge your cc when you make the ps.

The key here is calling within the 30 day period for latter ressies.

I just returned from WDW. My initial call back a few months ago gave me a 4:00 ressie.

Then within the 30 day period...I called again and actually was asked what time I wanted: 5:30, 6:00, 6:15...etc.

We originally had a 4:50 time for June 6. Last night (5/25) I called and was told I could get a FDP anytime up 'til 7:00 for the 9:00 show. I took 6:30. I told the CM that we had the earlier PS and asked if we just needed to change it and she said that they were required to make a new one and cancel the old one.

I'm glad we were able to get a later PS at MM's; we have an 11:45 at HBD and I know we will be full when we leave and I didn't want to go into dinner still too full to enjoy.

Senecabeach, So how was the dinner & show? Which restaurant? We've booked Hollywood & Vine. How were the crowds? I think you went during a really good time of year. I'm marking my calendar and will call about 28 days out!! Thanks! :Pinkbounc Laura

Hi guys!

So I don't have to read every post on the Fantasmic Dinner Pkg, can you tell me if they are still having us pay in advance when we make the PS? Do you have to pay in full or a deposit? Thanks for any help you can give me (and not making me read all the posts!)

:teeth:

They took our credit card number to secure the seating but have not charged us anything, not even a down payment.

Just returned from WDW and had our FDP last Thursday.
The cc holds the ressie. After dinner @ the BD, the bill came and thats when you pay.
Have a Disney Day !!

Thanks for all the info here. I got a 4:30pm seating at HW&V in late August. I'll try again for a later time.
Thanks everyone.

Could someone tell me what the current policy is for the dinner package. I think we would like to do it in October. When should we call? I read somewhere that the price of a regular dinner at H&V is $19.99. Is the package price more?? Thanks for the info!

No, I don't think the price is more but I've only done the H&V and I've found it's not more. I just buy what I want from the menu.

You can call at 90 days.

They also now will ask for a CC just to secure the PS and will only charge your CC if you do not show up and do not cancel...I think it's 48 hours.

When you call for the Fantasmic Package at the 90 day window, you will be given a choice of very early times. Take the latest one.

At the 30 day window, call again, and you should be able to get a later time. If you can't, call in about a week and keep trying until the day before you go. You should be able to get the later time to better suit your schedule.

Although Disney may automatically cancel your first time, make sure they are aware of it just in case.

As I've said before, I think Disney gives the very early times since they may be the hardest to fill ordinarily. Since you are requesting the Fantasmic Package, Disney has the leverage. Apparently, only when Disney feels that the later times may not be filled will they give you a later time (usually 30 days or less before the appointed date).

Good luck, and have a great time!

Beattyfamily & whopper65: Thanks for the info.! We did the FDP back in '01 but I don't remeber it being this complicated! Now to decide where to eat with DS (2 1/2)! MM sounds wonderful to me...but maybe H&V would be better with a toddler? Thanks for your help!

H&V is probably the most kid friendly. They have a good selection of food and desserts, are more reasonable price-wise, and have a more informal setting.

Well I made our PS for the Fantasmic dinner Package at H&V for Friday, 8/27 at 4:20 p.m. I was told that if I call back later in the month that they will have later times that I could switch to. I took the 4:20 just to have it, and I guess it would be ok, we could always save MGM for that day and do MGM after eating and then go to Fantasmic.

Later times for ressies open up "within the 30 day window" of your visit.

Call then to change the ressis!!

I'd just heard about this and called yesterday to get a ps for July 22. I got a 4:00 but I think I'm going to keep it as it will be our lunch/dinner combined and we'll just do some light snacks in between, should keep the costs down.
