... any info about this? Can't find a specific kink anywhere... are there likely to be one or two Fantasmics in June (mid)... (I imagine only one, due to daylight, but...?)... what time would you book a PS before the show? How late can you arrive at the show with the package?

Hi Mike!

I am going to WDW in just two weeks and I did this. I simply called 407-WDW-DINE. Tell them that you are interested in the Fantasmic Dinner Package and the day that you are interested in it for. Then tell them that you want to eat at Hollywood & Vine. They will know what time to set it up for and they will also explain exactly what you get. My understanding is that we now have Priority Seating for Fantasmic and a special ticket. Something about not having to wait in line, but I don't remember ever really waiting in line anyway. You do have to hold it with a credit card!
Have a GREAT TRIP!!!!

We did H&V with the fantasmic package a couple years ago and really liked it. The food was good and hot. We walked over to the show about half hour before it started and got great seats.

If you want to do this dinner package, I STRONGLY suggest changing to another restaurant!! When we did this at H&V, it was one of the worst experiences we have had. The food was bad, the service was horrendous and we were overcharged and the waitress argued with me about it. Never again.

I would only do this again, but at a better restaurant. This was the only bad experience we have ever had at Disney.

kel3420- sorry you had such a bad experience.

We've done the dinner package at H & V twice and loved it! They had a good variety of food and it was really good for a buffet! We also had great service. The last time we were there was Nov. 2003 and it was terrific!
Any restaurant can have bad days leading to bad experiences. Maybe kel3420's was an isolated incident!

Tink- you are absolutely right, I am sure I just had an "off" day. I am sure other peoples experiences would be much better.

Have fun!

for my birthday, and had no problems. The food was good, a nice selection, and the deserts were yummy. DH arranged for a cupcake for my B-day, and that went off without a hitch.

My only suggestion is if you are going to CP for dinner close to H&V, they serve basically the same food. So we had a repeat of Sat's dinner on Mon. Other than that, I would go back to H&V. The convenience of the seat for Fantasmic was great.

...I rang WDW-DINE to book this... they expect Fantasmic to be 9pm+ in June, but the absolute latest FDP PS they will give me is 430pm! (they were quite open about the fact that the later times are reserved for 'normal' PSs) As we are on a tight schedule and I wasn't planning to be back at MGM that day til 6ish, we declined.. we'll take ou chances with the general line, or go to Epcot for another dose of Illuminations instead.

We also took advantage of the H & V Fantasmic dinner package in May of 2003. We liked the food and service. Great experience for us and It's nice to not wait for 1 1/2 hrs. to get a good seat at Fantasmic.

Do you need to secure with a credit card? I have not done FDP in awhile and things have changed. If I have to secure, how much per person?

Thanks in advance.

Vicki

They don't actually charge anything to your card when you make the PS, but if you don't cancel (I think it's 48 hours ahead) and don't show up THEN they charge you.

I have read of people calling back closer to their trip and getting later PS times, you may want to try that. I agree that 4:30 is pretty early for dinner!

I'm actually glad to hear about the early PS times. The kids are usually starving by 4:30 so we adults are going to use the time as a "late lunch".

I loved Hollywood and Vine. The food was great as was our server. I'm not sure if the tickets are good for the second show. When we were there during Christmas,I heard they had to be used for the first showing.
