FANTASMIC! Dining, Dessert, Fastpass Thread - Q&A Here

While it is slightly elevated, your view would be obstructed by people standing. The walkway is also right in front of the patio, so you will have plenty of CMs in front telling people to keep moving along, with light up directional wands. It's not the best experience, so I'd definitely recommend just doing a regular dining package earlier and sitting in the reserved seating area in front of the Rivers of America. Honestly, if available, I would push for a lunch, so you can get out of that area until it's time for Fantasmic. It gets very chaotic and crowded, so would prefer to spend more of the evening on the east side of the park until coming back to NOSquare.

Agreed, there is still a lot of traffic between the sight-lines of RB and Tom Sawyer Island.

Has anybody gotten BB for July 17th? Or any dates in July yet? All I see if August opens.
My thinking is that there is no availability in July because the MSEP Dining Packages are in full swing and they gobbled up the inventory for those dates because Disney did not hold any back. We will see though if any do become available and how many they have, because the BB can only hold so many regular, MSEP, and F! diners ;)

I noticed when I read the details on the dining package that it said all reserved areas are standing. We've never done the dining package before, but I thought I read that before they were in a seated area. Has this changed do you think or is that just the general language and people will be seated in the dining package section?

No openings for Blue Bayou the entire time we are there. Do they generally let you switch an existing reservation over?!

It took me awhile, but I found where it says all viewing areas are standing only! What is the point then?? I'm only willing to pay the premium price for a seat so my kids can see.

Here is the link if anyone else wants to read it: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disneyland/fantasmic-dinner-packages/

I can't imagine them having the front, center lower area (where they have previously put dining packages) standing as it would obscure the view for everyone behind them, both directly and in the higher areas. I guess we will see if they actually do or don't... and another point for them not having them standing is they usually put wheelchairs behind the front seated areas and they wouldn't be able to do that if it's all standing. I guess time will tell!

I'm considering calling in the morning to book the special 8:00 seating to watch from the restaurant. It's an extra $15 pp and you can watch the show right from the terrace. Having a seat might be nice! ETA at River Belle Terrace
I actually booked a regular ADR for River Belle Terrace prior to this release for 7:15pm I wonder if they would let me switch that one over to the Fanrasmic package with the seating option. I'll have to call tomorrow to see.

I can't believe thy are upchariging for this...it's not a great view, you have a ton of people between you and the show, both watching and passing by, plus there are trees, lights, etc that obstruct your view, so where you end up sitting could greatly impact your view. I have watched from there before and it was fine, but only because I've seen the show a million times.

I really hope the standing part is a mistake! I agree that it seems unlikely that the front area near the water will be standing.

ETA: I would really like to know where the reserved areas are.

By standing perhaps they mean that they are general admittance, but seated - that's how it ran last time. There's just too much going on behind that area (including wheelchair access as someone else said) to have it literally "standing".

The wording describing the F! viewing areas all being standing (with the exception of HC) is the same as the wording describing the WOC viewing areas all being standing (with the exception of HC, VIP, and Dessert Party). This makes me think it will really be standing so that they can get more people into the viewing area. I think a lot will depend on how things go the first few weeks after F! returns. If the standing-area-only plan flops, then Disney will have to adjust in some way.

I was able to make a reservation today at the River Belle Terrace for early August. The on the go location and Blue Bayou were unavailable. There was also the ability to pay an extra $15 per person to dine at the River Belle Terrace at 8 pm and watch Fantastic from there. Is this a good location to watch from?

There is debate on the quality of the view from RBT. The general opinion is that the view is mediocre at best, especially for someone who hasn't seen the show before. You will be off to the side and there will be lots of pedestrian traffic between you and the show.

I booked a reservation at River Belle weeks ago for 7:10 PM on the 17th. Was hoping to switch to a package, but I'd be happy with a mediocre view, too. Have showtimes for opening day been released yet?

The upcharge for the tables at RBT is interesting. I wonder just how they go about making sure the earlier diners vacate those tables in time? I'd pay it for a good view, but that doesn't sound like it's the case.

Before the hiatus, CMs used to allow a few people to sit there, depending on available space, if they had medical conditions that prevented them from sitting on the ground but if they weren't using wheelchairs or ECVs. (This didn't happen often, but only if someone had a RBT package and the seats happened to be open at show time.) Now I wonder if the upcharge is the only option for this semi-HC seating? Where will HC viewing be and will there be seats, like at WOC? Hmmmmm...

But with an upcharge?

I've booked the dining package at Riverbelle Terrace for early August. There was one very early time available for BB, but the RBT price is enough of a splurge, with only one in my party at the child rate, and it's possible that the Disney VISA will still have an extra 10% discount at RBT as in the past.

I am a bit concerned about standing only, if that wasn't a mistake. We don't mind standing during the show if we can SEE the show, and I don't blame DL if they're trying to fit more guests, but the whole point of booking a package is not having tall people standing in front of my short family and not having to stand in a stressful crowd for a very long time before the show starts. Also, if it's standing, does that mean they are changing the location of the dining package viewing area?

But with an upcharge?

I know! Since they can't legally charge for that, I wonder where they will allow HC seating now if you don't have your own wheelchair or ECV. It was a real problem before for people who could not sit on the ground or get down on or back up from the ground.

Thank you so much!!! I was searching the site as soon as I got the alert and I couldn't find it anywhere! I just converted our River Belle Terrace reservation into the Fantasmic dining package. I got an error message the first three times but kept hitting reserve and it got confirmed the fourth time. Going to try to convert our Blue Bayou reservation now. Thank you again! I love the Dis!!!
How did you covert? I have an existing RBT ressie that I want to make F! Package
