Whats the latest low-down on this??? Haven't seen anything posted in a while....Im so out of the loop too and trying to scramble now.... price? what are people getting these days? etc...

Price is currently $60 for adults, $50 for 9 and under. (They went up a dollar...)

$60 for a 15 minute show with some snacks??? Only the wealthy can get a seat !! I remember when it was $35 for a seat at the Gallery and that was pricey then too.

Lollipop's Mom, it fills up/sells out sometimes pretty far out. I know your trip is soon. If you are interested, you probably want to call sooner than later to book.

Well... if you want to split hairs, it's $60 for a 22 minute show, a RESERVED seat, a set of desserts that is more than almost anyone can finish in one show, beverages, "table" service, and the time of not having to scout out and save seats if you want to be front and center. Plus a chair.

And no, I am not amongst the "wealthy," I just think it includes more than some realize --- but we have always chosen to spend our $120 elsewhere (somehow still on Disney though! :rotfl:).

I think $60pp is priced out of the realm of most families. Why not do a dinner package with reserved seats, somewhat like the way Fantasmic dinner packages are done at Disney World? I'd love such a view but there are other ways to spend $60pp and get more bang for it.

Us wealthy folks try to do the seating once a year when we are there. We find it is easier on my old butt and the family just does not want to sit with the commoners. LOLOLOL

Wealthy or not, my understanding is that these dessert packages sell out, so clearly they're priced correctly to make it worth Disney's while!

To some degree, I agree with you in terms of "most families." I don't think it's meant to be something for everyone. I think it's meant to be an exclusive experience. I know my father would spring for it in a second. To him, it's not that much money and he would not sit on the ground and likes having a "reserved spot." DH and I? We have never done it.

Case and point.

Well we do the budget version to get a good view. About 10 minutes before show time we find a family that spent 2 hours to get the perfect up front spot. We offer them $100 for their spot. So for $100 we get a perfect view, no 2 hour wait and save $200 over the reserved seats for the 5 of us. We don't get the snacks, chair and drinks though darn it!! lol

That is a good approach but i just take another job to earn what i think is needed for our trips. This has been a tradition for many years, but started at the Gallery balcony. With 3 kids in college, those expenses come first so we add and subtract work.

Everyone has their discretionary funds and can choose where to spend them. Some people love to stay onsite. I don't see value in that. I do like Fantasmic! seating and we do it a couple times a year. For us, it is totally worth the $60 per.

As far as being out of the realm of most familes, it is always full, and during busy times, will sell out the first week it opens.

Do you really???

And since I know tone gets lost: I have no problem or issue with doing so, in fact I am just so entertained to read it. Our friends used to joke about renting themselves out as seat holders, but I didn't think anyone really pays people for their spot. That's fantastic!

When we go in August it is always jammed and sells out quickly and if you leave your chair, it is very difficult to get back to the area thru the folks who seem not to want to follow directions well like "keep moving".

OMG, I think I love you. My DH is seriously considering this as a compromise to having to buy F! seats. We have small kids and cannot possibly wait for hours (and why would we, instead of enjoying the rest of the parks?), but $280 for our party of 5 to get the seating seems insane, too. But $100 I apparently can talk him into! :rotfl:

Sure it is. With 10000's of visitors in the park each day, a few 100 will be able to afford it.
