Fantasmic Desert seating?

We try to see Fantasmic! from the preferred seating once a year. We did the balcony seating all of the time from the first night it was offered until it ended. While I never mind sitting and people watching for a few hours it is not something my husband and young son enjoy. Preferred seating works out perfect for us because I can do the waiting and they can do the rides. And like others, we have never had a bad seat!

Thanks for the advice! I think I will see if there are any tickets left. It sounds like a special way to celebrate our anniversary.

Any recs for first or second showing of Fantasmic?

I like the first showing so we can stay in our seats to watch the Fireworks.

Is the view of the fireworks a good view from the seats...aka can you see the castle and such?

The view is wonderful but no, you can't see Sleeping Beauty Castle. You will miss things there, but if you are at Disneyland for multiple nights you will be able to enjoy the Fireworks from Rivers of America and also have a chance to see them from Main Street USA on another night.

They also pipe the music into Rivers of America so you will get the full effect of the choreography.

It is a good view, but you can't see the castle. They do pipe in the music and use the lights and such in the area. So it's a good view, but not the same as in front of the castle.

Here's the dessert box.

Expect that you will hardly make a dent in it and have a plan for getting the boxes back to wherever you are staying at the end of the night....the boxes were a lot larger than we expected, and we had 6 of them! It took us a week to eat through everything.

Contents: chocolate truffels with some sort of caramel and cream filling, purple (very sweet) grapes, Babybel and regular cheeses, crackers, flourless chocolate cake (very rich and gooey), cheesecake with chocolate Mickey head, lemon tart, shortbread cookie with raspberry filling.

ooooooh that looks very yummy!

Does anyone know what time the phone line opens to make reservations for the F! dessert? Is it 8:00 AM Pacific time?

TIA

Someone mentioned earlier in this thread (I know it is old) about needing to get there early for check-in if you want first row seats. That is true, but you don't really need first row to get a good view of the show. Certainly that is ideal, but they are all pretty good.

Here is a picture I took a couple months ago from our seats in the third row.

I also wanted to clarify, originally it was posted to go to the first Fantasmic showing because you can stay in your seat and watch the frieworks after the show but....
the fireworks are shown BEFORE the first Fantasmic showing.

I wonder if it changes? I have reservations on 4/10. F! is at 9:00 and fireworks at 9:30. Second F! is not until 10:30.... :confused3

While correct that is also incorrect.

F! and Fireworks both take place at night, this should be obvious. What isn't obvious is the time it gets dark and park crowds depend on the time of year.

Now that it is Spring we are hitting a strange period where the day is not long or short. Fireworks run first, F! second and Third. In late Spring it will return to the schedule that is like Winter with F! first then fireworks, then another F! on nights that F! runs twice.

Even though most people in my family think I go to DL too often...I've never been in the Spring. This is something that I didn't know. Very interesting. :) It will be nice to be able to walk to the hub and down main street after the first Fantasmic without the crazy traffic.

According to Disneyland, the reason for the various timing have to do with coordinating the fireworks with the WoC schedule. With WoC going off at 915p, you don't want fireworks going off at 925, as it has previously. So, the schedules have been set for this. It was odd having fireworks at 840p at Christmas. But it worked.

That is correct. The fireworks schedule has been altered due to WoC. I don't think we'll be able to predict how Disney may or may not adjust the schedule this summer.

Last summer, since WoC can't happen til it is dark, they ran it at the same time as Fantasmic!, then ran fireworks after.

So what might we expect for the first weekend in May? (WOC is every night so we can do that on a weeknight.)

I was hoping F! and fireworks would be running both Friday and Sunday nights.

We will arrive on a Friday, can do F! or fireworks that night.

Sat. we are hoping to go to the matinee Cirque show in LA - so I doubt we'd be back in time for the evening shows. Plus we will probably get a PAP for one of us and a DAP for the other. So Sat. is a blackout date for DAP holders. It isn't worth buying that one evening for us.

I was hoping that F! and fireworks would be running on Sunday night too.

We almost had to cancel our trip so I didn't call for F! dessert seating. I hope they aren't sold out at this point. (We are supposed to close on our house sale tomorrow so everything is contingent on that.) I can't buy anything until we know for sure we are going.

With F! and fireworks, given the first weekend of May (no grad nights :) ) which would you do on Friday and which on Sunday? Will they have both on Sunday night? Or is it just a matter of which night I can get tickets for the dessert seating?

I assume there will be only one showing of each per weekend night that time of year?

I partly planned in the fall, put everything on hold and now if it works out I will only have 5 weeks to plan a LOT.

Thanks!

Sorry to hijack the thread, but is it true that in October, Fantasmic shows weekdays only?

With the fireworks happening at 8:40, and Fantasmic at 9pm during our stay, just wondering if we do the Dessert Package, would we be allowed to be seated in the viewing area early enough to watch the fireworks before F!?

Thanks,

Kelli

Definitely not weekdays only. In the past years it's been Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so somewhat extended weekends.
