I am going to Disneyland soon and I was able to get the last two seats on the balcony for the dessert buffet for Fantasmic. Can anyone tell me how are the seats even if I got the last two seats? This is a surprise for my wifes b-day. Thanks.

We also got the last three seats when we went in July. Honestly, there is not a bad seat on the balcony. There are only 22, I think! It is just two rows of seats with some additional seats on the sides in front. I also did it as a surprise for my sister and son. I told them that I knew of a great secret place to view Fantastic! that you don't have to camp out for hours. She bought it until about 8:00 and then got REAL nervous because she could see everyone staking out their spots. She pressured me for where my secret spot was and I told her that they were on the stairs off the Disney Gallery. She didn't believe me so went to ask the CM guarding the stairs who, of course, said no. I then snuck up to the CM and told him that we have tickets for the balcony and to tell her that the opposite side of the stairs was okay. I sent her back and he confirmed my story. She wasn't 100% convinced but grudgingly agreed to ride POTC. Luckily, by the time we finished POTC, it was 8:30 and I said let's walk over to the stairs and check out Disney Gallery while we wait. I walked in front of her and shielded the tickets with my body when I showed them to the CM and ran ahead to give them to the CM Hostess. Her face when they opened the doors to the balcony and I told her that was really where we were sitting was worth all the white lies!! You will have a great time and what a wonderful birthday surprise for your wife!! Make sure she gets a birthday sticker to wear all day!

ENJOY! :earboy2:

We were lucky enough to get these tickets in December 03. The way that I noticed it worked was that the first group to check in was the first group seated in the front row & then the second to check was the second seated & so on. Having said this, I agree that there are really no bad seats as there are so few up there. I am only 5 foot 2 & was in the second row & had no trouble seeing at all. Make sure you don't have a huge meal before hand & enjoy the experience. It was a great way to experience Fantasmic (& you could stay for the fireworks show afterward - view of this was limited though).

How often do they offer the buffet? Every night?

They do the buffet every night they do Fantasmic.

They have changed it to where the seating is based on when you make the reservation vs when you check in .

We are going to our DL for the first time in April. This sound really cool. Can someone please let me know how much this costs? where exactly is it at? What exactly is the buffet like? Where/How do you get tickets?

Thanks

It's $49. There are 2 places they do it--the balcony outside the Disney Gallery over POTC and and another spot right on the edge of the Rivers of America. The balcony is the better of the 2 views (because it's more center) and has less seating. The river's edge is off to the side, but if you have kids, it's $39 for them. The buffet is just desserts. I believe you get reservations through Disney Dining (714-781-3463) 30 days prior to when you want to do the buffet. I personally have never done it--not worth $49 to me as I don't mind waiting to have a good spot.

Maybe someone can help you with the tickets, as I believe there have been some changes in the way the tickets are distributed, since my brother-in-law, sister, and I did it, but I can tell you something about the dessert buffet, if it is the same as before. If you like chocolate, you'll be in hog heaven, as the desserts are heavy on the chocolate. And it doesn't take much to fill one up. They also serve drinks. The last time I believe it was coffee and punch. If one does enjoy Fantasmic, I would do it at least once, because up on the gallery, you are above all the crowds, and you don't have to look up at what id going on.

The number to call is 1-714-781-4400 and you'll need to reserve with your credit card.

The balcony will assign seating in order of the reservations made. Down below, you will need to check in, and they'll put your name on a list. They'll call out the names in order that they checked in, and seat in that order. I've sat down by the river, but haven't done the balcony yet.
