I'm so ashamed.......3rd trip to DW and have yet to see Fantasmic, but...I am willing to change my ways.

So, my question is...since it is a long wait and we will probably pass the time with one of our favorite pastimes...eating, what is the best place to pick up food... both meal-type food and snack food on the way to Fantasmic? Also, is there a convenient snack stand inside? If so, what do they serve?

Thanks to all of you Fantasmic aficionados who have convinced us to brave the crowds and try it. :wave2:

In addition to the snack stand in the theater, there is a large group of counter service and quick bite locations directly opposite from the theater's entrance. Though you would want to pick something up there before entering the theater. Snacking is a great way to pass the time while you wait. :mickeybar

I am clueless about Fantasmic, but would like to see it. The times are listed at 9 and 10:30. What's the diff and is it easier to see one or the other?

Here is a great intro page. The second show is always easier to get a seat for. You may also wish to do the
Fantasmic Dinner Package. This is my favorite show in all of Disney World, so I highly recommend it. ::MickeyMo

We did the Fantasmic! Dinner Package at Hollywood and Vine. The food was delicious and we sure did stuff ourselves. About 1/2 hr before the show we went to the reserved seating section and had our pick of seats which were quite good. We would rather relax than stand in line so this package was certainly worth getting--we had to eat somewhere anyway. BTW the show was incredible!!

Make a fantasmic dinner package at one of the MGM restaurants: Mama Melrose, Hollywood and Vine or Brown Derby. Then you are guaranteed to get into Fantasmic and you do not have to wait in line.
Cheers,

Do I just call the dine number and tell them I want a Fantasmic dining package? I think Hollywood and Vine sounds great! Can I use our MYW plan for the package?

Oh, by all means go to the later show! Even on busy days, the later show is never, ever as crowded.

Lines can begin forming up to two hours early for the 9PM show, but as long as you show up at least 30 minutes before the 10:30 you should be all set.

EXACTLY the same thing here!! Fantasmic Dinner Pkg with H&V, stuffed so much from the ice cream sundaes and dinner that the kids didn't even ask about snacks at the show, and the seats were great (had read posts about sitting way to the sides, but we sat right in the center). We went during Easter/Spring Break and there was no way with kids we would wait for a long time for the show. Gotta' eat somewhere and there's no additional charge -- definitely worked well for us. Oh, and I surprised the kids with glow neckalces that I'd bought at Target, so no "gimmies" at the show.
