Hi, all!

We are going September 16-19. The 19th is Friday and the only day with Fantasmic and fireworks. Is it possible to do both things on the same night? Would it only be possible for really fast people?

What if we are a family of five, with tired children moving at the speed of slug?

We haven't been to DL in 6 years. I don't remember if we ever tried to do both things in one night before. We previously went in the height of summer and these things occurred every night. It's nice to go when it's less crowded, but that means there are less things available, too.

I was bummed to see Indiana Jones closed for refurbishment. Then discovered it is scheduled to reopen Friday! Oh, man, I hope that stays true!!

The advice is always to either watch the first Fantasmic and then stay in your spot to view the fireworks or get a good viewing spot for the fireworks, watch them and then head over to the river for the second showing of Fantasmic.

It is possible to see both shows in one day. There are a few ways to see both shows in one night. One is to watch the first show of F! at 9pm around the Rivers of America. After the 1st show of F! is over, you can stay in the same spot and you will be able to watch the RDCT at 9:25pm in the same area. It is not the same when you watch the fireworks in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. The one that is a favorite is to get a spot around the Hub and watch the 9:25pm RDCT show and after RDCT, you can head on over to the viewing area to watch the second show of F! at 10:30pm.

You can go to the Fantasmic! Superthread - Or Everything You Need To Know About Fantasmic at Disneyland which will tell you everything about the show and the tips.

It's fairly easy to do (as we learned over the weekend.) The fireworks run from 9:25 p.m. to 9:40 p.m. That gives you 50 minutes to get to the Rivers of America. We watched the fireworks all the way at the beginning of Main Street at the train station, and at most it should only take about 20 minutes to make your way up Main Street, through the hub, and over to the Rivers of America. Easiest is probably to walk through the stores on the west side of Main Street while the crowds from the Fireworks and the first Fantasmic! are exiting down the street outside. Arriving with 30 minutes to spare, you should be able to find a standing spot in New Orleans Square, potentially a seat in the patio outside Stage Door Cafe, and very likely the popular "light tower trick" standing spot (which was still available when we got to the ROA). See the Fantasmic! Light Tower Trick thread for an explanation of it http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2225094

Wow I didn't know there was two showings of Fantasmic! That's great! We were planning to miss it between the two Halloween Party's we are attending and wanting to see normal fireworks and World of Colour on different nights. I'll have to look into this!

Our plan (Me, Wife, and 2 kids) will be to watch the fireworks from the best spot we can find, as we are more excited for those. Then we will try to go catch the 2nd showing of F! if we can.....granted the kids can stay awake. :thumbsup2

It is NOT a good idea to watch Fireworks from Fantasmic area. You will not be able to see the castle, music, lights, or Tinkerbell & Dumbo in the show. I did it once and it's a horrible view.

Watch fireworks in front of castle on the left side near entrance to Frontierland. Then when it ends, book it over to Rivers of America for then second showing of Fantasmic at 10:30.

Agreed. They're kind of okay from Tomorrowland but still no castle. The best spots are in the Hub or in the middle of the street on Main Street.
