We made all of our dining arrangements before the November hours were out because there was such a delay. Both days we are at MGM we have dinner reservations for 5:15 pm at 50's PrimeTime and 5:45 at Sc-Fi.
I now know that Fantasmic is at 7:00. How long does dinner usually take?
DO you think we'll be able to get out of there and get seats on the day our reservations are at 5:15?

I assume that you don't have the Fantasmic Dinner Package. With that in mind, say dinner takes about an hour or so. That brings you to 6:15-6:30. You will still make it in time for the show, you just might not have front row seats. From experience, any seat for me has been a good seat. No obstructing view (except if you have a tall person in front of you!). I would take your time through dinner then get there when you can. Don't rush and have fun! :goodvibes

I would suggest getting the dinner package. The reason being is that you are gauranteed a seat. You will have a Fantasmic voucher. This way you won't have to wait in the line and you into a secret entrance. We can't wait to do this.

I'm not sure when you're trip is, but ours is 10/1-10/8 and I've been calling for 4 weeks now and all 3 restaurants are booked solid. At this point I'm ready to just give up on the pkg and wait in the big bad line! haha

I figure an hour or so for dinner, unless you're planning on being extra fast/slow

Today, I called for the package for Oct 5th. The woman told me later times had been opened for Oct 1st and that later days should be opened up for later times soon. I am going to keep trying every day. But I did make a back up ADR for 50's Prime time cafe just in case she is wrong-although I have been told something similar by several CM's.

Thank you to all for the help. I was able to cancel our ADR for Nov. 16th at Sci-Fi and make arrangements to eat at Hollywood & Vine with the Fantasmic package. Our ADR is now for 4:20. The CM told me that we get a pass for the show.....? Does this have an actual reserved seat number on it or is this just to get in and we have to search for a spot?

This leads me to another question. We are a party of 7, and I have had many places tell me that we have to be placed at 2 tables. (Hollywood & Vine, Cinderella's Royal Table, Retaurantosaurus...and so on) Has anyone else had this problem and were you able to be seated together. The CM's just told me that they do their best.

Hollywood and Vine will be able to sit a party of 7 better than 50's Prime Time.

Fantasmic Passes - yes - all will get one. You sit in the Witches section - not bad seats - a bit off center to the right when facing the water stage.
You do not go in the 'regular' Fantasmic entrance. You take your passes after dinner - stroll over to the front exit - but do not leave the Park, on your left there will be a 'gas station' building. There is a cast member walkway near the 'gas station'. You walk on a wide concrete path, which winds around with a fence on your right. You end up with a short cut to Fantasmic. Less walking than the 'regular' path. There will also be a CM guiding you to the area on where to sit.

HINTS: bring your own glow sticks. Pre buy at the Disney store - or elsewhere- the hand held twrilling lights. They cost about $15-$20 each at fantasmic. A flashlight may also be helpful to look for a dropped item.

Photography of Fantasmic - if you can take clear pictures of fire works, you are all set to photo Fantasmic. If you are unable to take photo's of bright lights against pitch black, leave the camera at the resort and enjoy the show :)
