Fantasmic $60.00 for preferred seating???

I hate the WDW version. It is a insult to Fantasmic. If someone told me I had to see it at WDW I would stay home and not go on vacation. I think it is that bad.

And we prefer the one in WDW so much better. We see it everytime we go. We haven't seen the one in DL the past 3 times we've been. It's always so crazy that we don't find it worth it to be sitting on the ground for that long...plus, my dad really can't sit on the ground for that long anymore so for us, WDW wins. Maybe its because I grew up with the WDW show so it holds a special place in my heart (I also like Wishes better then the fireworks at DL...and spectromagic is better then MSEP).

It's all a matter of opinion. And IMO, I don't think the one in DL is better then WDW.

Which "spring break" week? Spring breaks start in mid March and go thru the second week of April.

We will be there April 2, 3 and 4 (checking out on the 5th).

A couple of comments. I much prefer the WDW version...but, mind you, they weren't running Fantasmic the last time I was at DLR, so I haven't seen their "new" show.

Here's a tip a CM gave me in '05. I don't know if will still work, but I'll share. There is a little counter restaurant next to The Golden Horseshoe...I think The Stagedoor Canteen. (?) The CM told us to stake out seats there prior to the show. It worked for us. We sat right next to the railing...and our seats were slightly raised above the sidewalk so nobody could block our view. It's quite a distance from the show, but if you want seats you don't have to pay for, it works. BTW...they close the counter restaurant prior to the show so the lighting doesn't interfere...so you aren't taking a seat anyone eating there might need.

Dumb question here...but if you are allergic to eggs do you think they'd swap out the baked stuff for fruit?

We will usually have dinner at Stage Door Cafe on the night we want to see Fantasmic and eat about 2-3 hours before the show starts. We get one of the tables at the very end of the row, closest to Pirates entrance. It is a perfect spot to sit for the show with no one in front of you and you get a chair. My wife and I usually trade off an hour at a time holding the table while the other takes the kids on rides. I could never sit on the ground and would never pay for a spot.

First let me say that I don't hate the WDW version. I think its pretty good but not as good as DL's. Like you said everyone has their own opinion on things. With the actual ships and the new Dragon it really blows me away.

It really shocks me that you think Wishes is better than Remember Dreams Come True? Did you see Magical or Remember Dreams Come True when you were at Disneyland? Most that have seen RDCT think its by far the best fireworks show ever done. How can it not be when you incorporate Walt Disney into the show and his dream of building a park for his children? :thumbsup2 Plus having Julie Andrews narrate is magical.

I do agree with you that Spectromagic is better than MSEP. MSEP will always hold a special place in my families heart as that was our first nighttime Disney parade we saw at the Magic Kingdom at WDW back in 1990. I love the music in Spectromagic and the floats.

Anyways to all that are reading this DL's Fantasmic! is a must see even if you've seen WDW's version. DL's version is also the original.

Yup...we have seen both Magical and RDCT. We've been about 9 times (first time in 2000) and 5 of those times have been in the past 3 years (we live nearby now). It's not that I don't LOVE the DL fireworks. I think they are absolutely amazing. I just personally like Wishes better. And really, maybe its because they hold a special place in my life because WDW is what I grew up with, But Wishes makes me cry....RDCT does not.

Overall, I personally prefer WDW as a whole. Don't get me wrong I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE DL...Everything about it is amazing. But if I had to choose between DL and WDW, I would choose WDW.

And I agree...if you haven't seen Fantasmic at DL, you should see it....we just don't find it worth it anymore since its always so crazy when we go and we've seen it 3 times (including AFTER they added the dragon)

We've been doing the dessert package for years, it is wonderful. It used to be a bit better then it is now. It used to be an unlimited buffet, and now it is a dessert box. But as one person said, you're really paying for the the seating instead of the desserts. However, it is catered by the VIP team and it is amazing! When we started bring out DS they would hunt all over to find coloring crayons and some coloring pages for him to occupy his time. Another time, we brought our nephew as a manny (male nanny) and we did the package for our family, but he was sitting in what we call "cattle class" infront of us. About 5 minutes before the show, they noticed we were talking with him, and they invited him to sit with us. We figured they'd just let him sit with us, but instead they offered him the total package, drinks, desserts and everything at no additional cost. Definitely a magical moment - I would never have expected this.

We don't do the package every time but definitely once every 2 or 3 trips. We find it worth it between not having to wait for good seats (yes, depending on the time of year, good viewing area can be easy or hard), but also the fact that you do get seats and don't have to get up for more drinks is nice. It is nice a VIP type experience and not in everyone's budget.
