As a proud new waist pack owner, and as discussed on another thread...what do you pack in yours?

This morning, I was loading up our new one (thanks Sconnell ;) ) and so far it fit:

DVD Camera
Digital Camera
Pack of 15 Handiwipes
Hand Sanitizer (a little larger than a trial size)

And I still have plenty of room! The only thing I have to figure out is how to place the DVD camera and digital camera so they dont bang into eachother.

Okay, lets hear what everyone stores in those things! :)

Chapstick
tylenol
small spray container of suntan lotion

In mine, I usually have:

Wallet (scaled down version)
Sunblock (small size)
Lip balm w/sunblock
Park ticket
Advil/Tylenol etc.
Cell phone

I think that's it. Maybe a few tissues.

I actually keep the camera in a separate small case that has a belt loop on it. I run the pack through that loop. I also have a sunglasses case that clips on for storing those.

Our daughter will be 16 months on our next trip, so we'll also have a diaper bag and stroller. We just hang the diaper bag on the stroller. We don't keep any valuables in it, so we can just leave it with the stroller when we go in attractions/restaurants.

I like to keep: Band Aids Antibiotic oint, Sanitzer, WetOnes ,Tylenol,Chap Stick, Deod( all travel size)&Dental floss :sunny:

Cash/change/cards
Driver's license
Room card
health insurance card
camera(s)
extra film (if camera uses film)
reading glasses
sunglasses (or clip-ons to go over reading glasses)
disinfectant wipes
band aids
Tylenol
pen and/or pencil

I take my driver's license for ID purposes only since we use the bus system while staying on site. And the health insurance card is a "just in case" thing. No one ever expects to have an accident, but I would like to prepared "just in case".

Cheap ponchos! I buy the 79 cent ones at WalMart. I put them in the pouch, and if I use it one day, I toss it. I bring a bunch of them with me. They are folded very small! I refuse to carry anything in the parks. I don't know how people use backpacks, or even worse...how women carry pocketbooks! I only use a waist pouch, and I am happy!

Camera batteries, sunglasses, SPF lip balm, shiny pennies and a roll of quarters for pressed penny machines for DKs, pen, room keys, hand sanitizer, toilet seat covers, inhaler, dental floss, tissues, camera, have to leave room for DH's keys.

Everyone in our family except DH has hip pouches and I pack each one.
Kids get: poncho, their camera, mini hand helf fan, their money, pen and notebook for autographs and room key and their sunglases and then clip their two way radios and cell phones on the outside
I pack in mine: poncho, money, digi camera, tylenol, bandaids, hand held mini fan, room key, map of whatever park we are in, sunglasses, then on the outide is my cell phone and two way radio.

Wow - you can get a lot of stuff in these things!

I like the sound of those 79c ponchos... may have to check those out...

Lisa - what kind of DVD camera do you have that is small enough to fit in your pack? Oh and look how many replies your thread has already :)

YEAH! I thread with my name in the title! This may be a first! Thanks Lisa, now maybe I can get a good list! ;)
ETA: I think Lisa and I have the same kind of DVD Cam, (correct me if I'm wrong). We have a Sony HandyCam. It's AWESOME! I may make a little drawstring pouch for the camera and Cam so that they are a little protected from scratches and crumbs or whatever. If I can find some fabric that's water proof, that would be good. Hey wait, wouldn't a ziploc work? :rotfl: Man, I use those things for everything on vacation!

ok lisa, what kind of fanny pack did you get that can fit all that stuff in it? care to share a pic?

I am looking at investing in a fanny pack and would love to see examples of what other people buy. I also want to know where people are getting the small hand held mister fans at? I checked my Walmart but they don't have any.

Tissues
Lip balm
Money
Credit card
AP
ID
Comb
Advil
Sunglasses
Room card

I usually pack..

Digicam, batts and mem cards
Camcorder, batts and tapes
Monopod (see photo)
Cellphone
Individually Packaged Hand Wipes
Water Bottles
Snacks
Car Keys
Room KeyCard
PhotoPass Card
Sharpie Pens
Disposable Rain Poncho
OTC Meds (bandaids, Tylenol, Tums, etc)
Pack of Moleskins
Park Maps
Park Plan (if in Commando mode)

Probably more stuff that I can't remember, but it all fits in the vest, with room to spare.

Yup that is the exact DVD camera we have! It is great!! We are heading to Target tonight, might look and see what they have, a little pouch like you mentioned would be perfect. Just something to put between the two so they dont keep banging into eachother. :)

I just took a couple of pictures, but I need my DH to help me unload them from the camera card. I used to know what to do, but we got a new computer last week and now I am clueless. :confused3

Okay here are some pictures....

They really hold allot, surely it must be full by now. If you need to carry many items each day into the park, that is the pack to get.
