Fan Favorites November 2024 Exercise Challenge

Let's talk about Disney food today!

What is your favorite Disney

1) snack?

2) quick service restaurant?

3) table service restaurant, non-character?

4) character restaurant?

1) favorite Disney snack? Sooooo many, mostly from Epcot - maple popcorn (Canada popcorn cart), school bread, lefse, almond pretzel, and rice cream (last 4 are all from the bakery in Norway) but also the Cheshire Cat Tail from MK

2) quick service restaurant = Satu'li Canteen. It's so good! I find myself thinking about the crispy fried tofu and noodles so often!

3) non character table service restaurant = Boma

4) character meal restaurant = Cinderella's Royal Table, Crystal Palace, and Akershus but probably Cinderella's would be my #1 if really forced to choose

Ohh this is a tough one - I adore so many of the Villains. I'll go with cartoon Maleficent, not live action Mal. I adore the chaotic fae being who turns into a dragon to punish people who don't know how to honor the rules of hospitality. Should she have destroyed the kid's life? Meh. But a King and Queen should have known better than to exclude an important member of the Unseelie court from a party.

Skeleton Dance! From 1929. It's fun, spooky, and was pretty gosh darn special when it came out. It's only 5 minutes long but iconic:

And ummmm, I don't like any Mickey Mouse cartoons. I'm strange that way. Closest I've got is 1952's Trick or Treat with Donald and the nephews featuring Witch Hazel. The song always sticks in my head and makes me smile.

60 minutes of weight lifting last night. I expected to get up and running this morning, but my bed was warm and there was a light snow falling so, uh, mmmm, nope. :P

Okay, Skeleton Dance is fantastic!!!! I need to add that to my must watch list for Halloween!

1) snack?
Good old popcorn

2) quick service restaurant?
Anywhere that has something for everyone…which is generally anywhere in the park we can get pizza

3) table service restaurant, non-character?
Via Napoli

4) character restaurant?
Topolinos Terrace

Any Star Wars fans around here? If so, what's your favorite Star Wars movie and favorite Star Wars series?

I grew up with the original 3 movies and have loved the franchise ever since. My favorite movie, though, is one of the newer ones - Solo, and it's all because I love the character Qi'ra. I'd like to see more of her story one day. My favorite series is The Mandalorian because I'm Grogu's #1 fan. 🌟🤩🌟

1) snack?
Caramel filled Mickey Pretzel which was a standard at the MNSSHP from 2016 to 2019. It was a hot salty pretzel filled with sweet caramel goodness. I've never gotten over it and hope it comes back again!
2) quick service restaurant?
Cosmic Rays! Look, I hear you that they usually suck but they once accommodated my weird allergies and made a salad for me that was out of this world. Fresh crispy lettuce, amazing juicy grilled chicken, and a tangy ginger dressing that I wish I could recreate. So while most of the menu is boring if you get a chance a fresh made
Chopped Vegetable and Crispy Noodle Salad with Chicken and Sesame-Ginger Dressing is amazing.

3) table service restaurant, non-character?
Hands down The Hollywood Brown Derby. First the chef came out and spoke to us, at length about the menu. Then, when my silly self ordered something that would've killed me, he was wise enough to come out, explain how he'd modified it and offer to make it up in the (deadly) way I ordered it, if that was what I really wanted. Elegant, in a bubble that makes you feel you're outside of a theme park, and amazing food. A cool break from everything. Loved it.
4) character restaurant?
It's sad to admit, I've never been to one. Whoops. : blush :

And another 60 minutes at the gym!

I think I would have loved the caramel pretzel. They need to have that at the German bakery in Epcot.

Well done, Cosmic Ray's!

HBD was my second choice! It was a close call for me, and definitely a must do every trip.

What is your favorite non parks activity for a Disney trip?

I'm sure if I had ever been on a Disney cruise, to Aulani/Vero/Hilton Head, or been on an ABD one of those would be my answer, but since I've only ever been to WDW, I'll go with horseback riding. I loved my horse, and it was such a nice relaxing way to start the day. Second place would be afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian, but that hasn't been offered for a few years now.

The month has just gotten away from me, kind of like the game the Avs just lost 8-2 in Tampa Bay.

What is your favorite Disney hotel/resort at any Disney park or beach destination? And if you always stay off site, what is your preferred place to stay when visiting a Disney park?

Mine is Animal Kingdom Lodge. I love everything about it, and I'd be perfectly content to do a resort only stay there and never leave the property the whole time.

AKL was the most amazing experience, and I like the DLH at DLR. But in WDW we most often stay at the Swan and in California at the Westin Anaheim, mostly due to prices and perks like the lounge in Anaheim.

1) snack?

2) quick service restaurant?

3) table service restaurant, non-character?

4) character restaurant?

1) Kat Saka's kettle corn (and all the various flavors of popcorn at Tokyo Disney Resort)
2) Docking Bay 7
3) Lamplight Lounge at DCA
4) long-ago Villains Dinner at 1900 Park Fare

The original Star Wars (A New Hope)! I don't actually watch the various series, though I enjoyed the first two episodes of Obi Wan when they premiered them at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim. My DH is a much bigger Star Wars fan, and he's looking forward to the second season of Andor.

The spa at Aulani. One of the best I've ever been to. Second place--DisneyQuest.

Afternoon tea, hands down, always. We're big tea fans and the GF did a wonderful job. I will now share way too many pictures:

Behold, the most beautiful Haunted Mansion cake ever made for me. Also, the skulls have lasted 6 years since that photo. I have them on display with the roses.

This was the tea tray

But wait! One more, since I've never had anything this elegant in a theme park: Swan filled with strawberry cream.

I haven't stayed at very many, but I loved the French Quarter.

1) Pepperjack Pretzel, but idk if they still have it?
2) Satu'li Canteen
3) Ohana (though my answer may change with my mood)
4) Garden Grill for Breakfast.

Not really a Star Wars person. I'll go with Empire Strikes Back
What is your favorite non parks activity for a Disney trip?
We are rope drop to fireworks people, so I guess my answer would be sleeping. Lol.

I have 180 new minutes since my last update. Not sure if I'll be able to make my goal this month, but I'll give it my best shot!

60 minutes of gym time! One of the best Thanksgiving dinners I ever had was at the Diamond Horseshoe in WDW last year. I'm normally not a fan of turkey, but their version was moist and flavorful. There were just about a million side options and all of them were delicious. It's the same food as Liberty Tree Tavern, but some how it tasted better than LTT ever did. Oh and everything was all you can eat, so they kept refilling us. :P By the time dessert came I couldn't eat another bite. Missing Disney today for sure.
