Famous People You have met While at WDW

Paige Davis from Trading Spaces was beside me washing her hands in a restroom at MGM Studios. She smiled at me and said hello. I left her alone because I didn't feel comfortable bugging her. Outside I saw her walking away with several CM's. This was Christmas a few years ago when Trading was really popular.

A couple of years ago (during the F+W festival) we were standing in line for Test Track and saw NBA Hall of Famer Rick Barry and his "trophy" wife.

Probably 6-8 years ago we saw Tennis great Chris Evert in the wave bobbing pool at BB. My wife still doesn't believe it was her.

I forgot what year it was,but I could say early 90's(I was in my teens) . My family and I always had a tradition of going to the Contemperary arcade the 1st night we arrived. Anyways we were at the snack area and I see this guy. Being a wrestling fan all my life I knew it was Ric Flair(WWHOOOOO!). He was about 2 feet from me fixing his coffee. I remember my dad getting nervouse at me and saying he's on vacation leave him alone. So I got up,approached Ric very quietly and asked him if he was Ric Flair. He smiled and said yes I am. I basically kept it a low profile and just wanted to let him know I was a big fan. There was no OMG YOUR RIC FLAIR going on because he's on vacation and I respected that. My family was ready to leave, as we walked outside there was Ric again. We both made eye contact and he just smiled. My moms like "why dont you take a pic w/ him" and I told her I didnt want to bother him. I take it he over the conversation and said It's ok. Right after the pic was taken Ric and my family are had a hour conversation about WDW. Thats definitely an experience I'll never forget.

This really dates me....

Annette Funicello...
Yup, THE Annette.

Aboutt 1980 at the MK (EC was 2 years from being done -we went by
and looked at the huge construction site from the road!)

She was there with some of her family for a dedication. After the dedication, she was gracious enough to pose for some pics....

Really cool, but I didn't realize how cool it was at the time!

We saw Jane Seymour (sp?)-Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. Actually it was the first time we were going to see Beauty and the Beast at D/MGM. It was an extremely hot afternoon. We had to wait for her to go backstage and met everyone in the cast before they ushered her to a seat and then we finally got to see the show.
So when I think of D/MGM's Beauty and the Beast I think of getting a sun burn and sweating--so I don't like to go to the show :(

As you can imagine, this past May there were a lot of celebs in WDW for the 50th. I was there on May 5th and I met and had my picture taken with Paige Davis, Wayne Brady, and Regis and Kelly. All at MK.
Later that week I was in NY visitng my cousin and we met Mr. Big (from Sex and the City-Christopher Noath) at a Martini Bar near 73rd on the Upper East Side. He came in with his brother (who was even more attractive, a distinguished older looking Christopher) and sat at the bar with my cousin and I. We drank for a couple of hours, had some hugs and good chats and that was that. No pictures, but I did call everyone in my cell phone and tell them I just spent the night with Mr. Big!

We were visiting a friend who works at GF in July. He told us that Joey had been into his store the night before buying "booze" for either his or his brother's wedding the next day.

hey Dis'ers I thought it would be cool to start a thread where we could all share tales of celbrities we have seen or met while at the world!!! ::MickeyMo

I'll start:

I met Raven Scimone waiting in line for The Voyage of the Little Mermaid. She was still all the Cosby show so she was still a little girl...but I had her sign in my autograph book. How ironic that years later she became a Disney girlie ::MinnieMo

how about you? :listen:

In July we were having lunch with a friend of ours who works at GF. We were talking about Raven for some reason (My 9 year old dd was with us). Our friend blurts out, "she's a b*****". Oh my, my husband and I looked at each other. I don't think my daughter has ever heard that word before, let alone to describe Raven. He said she was throwing a temper tantrum on the floor of the lobby when she didn't get her way about something. Yikes!

i was at euro disney a couple of years ago and met bryan mcfadden from westlife and his then wife kerry katona

It was sometime ago at MGM, we were waiting in line for Indian Jones Stunt spectacular. A CM movied the line back and walking up was Jim Henson and Frank Oz. They were filming a Muppets special. Stupid me left the camera in the car but did get both there autograps. This was like a week or two before Jim Henson passed away.

Later,

my children and I met Gloria Estafan. she and her son posed for a pic with us. she's very nice and sweet and her son even spoke with my kids for a while too!!!!!

Not at WDW, but we did have one at DL.

We wanted to see some celebrities while in California and went to Burbank to NBC studios. We stopped at a grocery store and chatted with the cashier. She mentioned that Jay Leno once bought a file cabinet from her rummage sale.

When we went to NBC studios, we managed to see Kevin Eubanks and Pat O'Brien (pre-creepiness). But the big thing was seeing Jay Leno, filming a show bit outside.

The next day, we went to Disneyland. At the end of the day, we waited for the parade. The start was delayed and one of the CMs told us it was because there would be a special guest. Since Autopia was just opening, I had a feeling... and yes, it was Jay Leno.

It was a Leno vacation.

When I was much younger I remember we were in Epcot, and in line for Spaceship Earth, they stopped the line so that Princess Diana and her sons could go to the front of the line.

Also like 4 years ago when we were at MGM and waiting in line for RnR they stopped the line to let someone go on. My dad asked a CM who it was and they replied "We can't tell you who it is, all we can tell you is that they are VIP." So I don't know who it was, we never found out. :confused3

we saw a guy who looked like a bona fide santa claus ( out of his red suit of course)at epcot a few years ago. wish i'd taken his pic now

I did briefly "meet" Alan Alda when I worked at NASA. He was shooting a bit for the "Scientific American" series in the building where my office was. I had heard they were there, but didn't really pay much attention to it. I was minding my own business and staring at the tile wall in the men's room (you guys know what I mean!), when this very tall guy steps up beside me to stare at his section of the tile, but unlike most people....he says hello and makes small talk. I think we were into the second sentence or two of conversation before my eyes wandered enough from the grout to realize just who I was talking to!!!! :rotfl:

This is not a Disney World encounter, but she is a Disney Star, in 2 weeks (sept. 3rd) my daughter (7) and I get to go backstage and meet Hilary Duff (aka Lizzie McGuire)at her concert at the NYS Fair :cheer2: !!! My daughter is so thrilled, she is a huge fan, and this has been a wish granted to her by the Dream Factory!

We were at Planet Hollywood in 2000 when Disney's The Kid was about to open up. We were wondering why we had to wait when there were plenty of tables when here comes Bruce Willis. They sat us down right after he walked by. It was pretty cool. I got a really good picture of him next to us. That was the last time I was there. Now when we go next year I am really going to be noticing the people around me after reading all of these sightings! :earseek:
